ASM here, we go by sheet metal. We are the jack of all trades when it comes to fabrication, painting, and composites
LOL my son just joined and he's currently at Lackland for BMT!!!! His MOS will be mechanical but he's like you were he doesn't know what job yet. I hope he lucks up and gets a good job like you and to do tech school in Florida sounds nice as well :) Thanks for sharing this information
The part that got me about that old video was when you said "your girl said i didnt wanna work with other females and didn't want to be in customer service so, bet here go mechanical!" 😂 sometimes you have to be careful what you ask for but glad it worked out for you 😊
This makes me happy, I have to pick mechanical jobs too and I really want my top 5. I did put ASM down so that’ll be nice! I love your attitude 🥰
Congratulations...join Lockheed Martin after your service is complete. Pay range $140k - $175k per year.
What about for 2A636??🥲
I tried getting hired by Lockheed after 4 years in the Marines. It is a very competitive field
Definitely get your Airframe and Powerplants especially doing sheet metal work. It definitely pays a lot on the outside plus the Air Force pays for it
Definitely knew what your were doing when I saw the 2a7x🤣🤣🤣
Will you make a video once they declassify the b21?
Welcome to LO! I'm LO, was at Whiteman and then Luke. Now at Ellsworth 🤙
how often does this job deployed? and what bases does this job get stationed at?
@@tyler9899 occasionally you CAN TDY, not often and not many go. You have more bases now than when I first joined in 2011. Main places are Whiteman for B2, Alaska for F22s, Utah, Arizona, California (F35s)...any base with F22s, F35s really.
@@MUSTANGHUNTER awesome thanks buddy! An thank you for your service 🫡
@@tyler9899 thank you for the support. Are you planning on joining too?
Love your videos , you are awesome. Please give us an life update and on your Air Force life. Are you liking it? Thoughts about reenlistment?
NEW UPLOAD ME PLEASE
Aircraft structure, composite and cabin/interior maintenance technician is currently my jobs.
More than 4 years working exp.
It pays good?
always@@MrWilbur63
Hello, I am going to be going into the LO field as well. I was wondering if you had any insight or opinion on which aircraft to work on. I would want to go to Whiteman in Missouri purely because its close to family but I heard working on b-2 is just going to send you to Guam. Anything would help thank you for the video it was very informative 👍.
I think they’re all really cool honestly! Despite what people may tell you, you really don’t have a say in where you get stationed but every base has its pros and cons so I would just say to keep an open mind!😊
@@thediamondalexis_ that totally makes sense, thank you for your help and good luck to you!
@@lunarmax2261 I was at Whiteman for 7yrs. Pretty taxing, but Luke was great, even tho LO on the 35s their isn't much compared to B2 MX. Either way, enjoy it
Hi! Do you get deployed a ton for your job? My boyfriend is about to head to tech school for this job!
whats the most stealth plane we have?
are you able to travel with that job cuz i wanna go over seas
What do you do on a day to day basis
what bases can this MOS get sent to? this is the one i’ve been assigned
no overseas bases just alaska hawaii virgina california arizona florida utah and missori
@@itsadamz7451 lakenheath in england is one
someone said no overseas besides alaska and hawaii. there is also lakenheath in england
Heyy girl I loved your video and I’m considering doing that job and I was wondering are you able to drive to your first base and say I want to commission over as a officer would I be able to have to opportunity or no and do you get weekends off or do you have to work the occasional weekend I’m just wanting to know.
Thank you so much! Yes, you are able to drive to your first base ( I definitely did). You would be able to commission as well as long as you meet the standards for testing as well as get your packet accepted. Your shift really depends on whether or not you work weekends. Both duty stations I’ve been to have their own weekend duty shift but sometimes if there’s a lot of work to get done that weekends can’t take on they themselves then you will end up working the weekend but I haven’t seen that happen too often. Hope this helps😊
@@thediamondalexis_ yes thank you it really did help out cause I’m in my senior year of college and I spoke to a recruiter about joining the Air Force in May and I had to lose some weight and so I’m thinking of trying and joining next summer
That’s so awesome! I wish you nothing but the best with your joining process and your Air Force journey!😁
@@thediamondalexis_ awww thanks girl
Sorry I have so much question for you girl I feel so bad what would you say is the hardest part of bmt and advice to get through it once someone is there
Is it a work day job, night job or both? Thank you in advance!
Both depends on what shift you get
There are 3 shifts a day, 24hr coverage so it depends on which one you get put on.
What are the usual hours ? Would you say this is a “keep you busy” type of job… I do not want a boring job I wanna do something worth while.
you got days mids and swings usually 8-12 hour shifts
What airframe/base are you on, I have been in L.O. for 8 years and have not heard anyone talk about you, I apologize if that comes across as rude it is not intended to be
Where are you at? I was at Whiteman for 7yrs, Luke for 3 and now at Ellsworth
@@MUSTANGHUNTER Was at JBer for 7 eyars and have now been at Luke for close to a year
@@silverriver5681 nice! I just left Luke in November. I was EMS UFPM
this is the job i wanna do, are you gonna automatically get deployed out of the country depending on the aircraft you work on?
It’s not dependent on your airframe but rather what base you’re stationed at.
Hey girl I am prepping to take my ASVAB and I wanted to know if you got to pick what state you got to live in?
Great question! You do make your “dream sheet” while you’re in tech school. I actually made a video about it on my channel!

@@thediamondalexis_ thank you !
When reeup you can do a Base of Preference . On you first enlistment not so much they put you were they need you
@@koreennixon9046 ohh okay thanks for sharing this
Yes i can see you doing mechanical work
Really!? Because I couldn’t see myself doing mechanical work when I first got this job😂
@@thediamondalexis_ i always wanted to be in a career that was hands onsy. I even tried to go to school for mechanics but I really wanted to get into the health industry. So im currently in school for Xray tech. Girl please rock that career of yours
Be the best mechanic ever!
Is it hard to rank up for this job?
Not at all. Rank is pretty much a given up until you’re required to test for Staff and above!
@@thediamondalexis_ Thanks one more question, are the work hours really long?
No they’re pretty standard 8 hour shifts. You might have an occasional 12 but that just depends on the work load. I personally haven’t experienced too many since I’ve been in.
@@thediamondalexis_ Thank you, I was just given this job I just wanted to get some information about it.
@@orentheajames2463 That’s so awesome! Welcome to the LO club! 😁😁😁
