What a beauty! And her nervous, modest manner is very appealing.
So underrated, I love her cute nervous demeanor
I have always loved her ❤️
She will be missed!
my god, she was stunning in this video. The combo of her beauty and her unforgettable voice is lethal.
In Interview , Irene looks a little shy but when she was singing she gave us full of strength.
Beautiful person 🥰 !
Thanks 🙏 for all these moment !
Fame ! People remember my name !
Rest in Peace beautiful super talented Irene Cara.
I named my beautiful daughter after you.
God Bless and take care of you.
All my love.
What a beautiful woman and how eloquently and modest she is she's got that rare black irises that make her so beautiful the strikes me weird that she and Donna Summer favorite each other they both died at 63 both in Florida God bless their souls
Yes, I remember looking up Donna Summer and discovered she lived in Naples, Florida. Not too far from Largo, Florida where Irene lived.
@@starexplorers1202 Irene said that they were good friends.
Also Keyshia cole
@@user-bx2cg2ec8c I'm writing a book on Irene (started in December) and accidentally found a connection with Donna Summer's lawsuit and Irene's. Almost as if they had been talking to one another about what to do when the record company doesn't pay you your royalties. This is truly a difficult book to write since as I go through all of Irene's life I can see how that lawsuit so deeply affected her soul the rest of her career. 💔
@@Star-Explorers I want read your book sure ! Unfortunately many stars was steal by musical and visual industry 😔 specially women artists 😔🤨 pity for these greatest talents
She was so sweet and humble, and an amazing talent, we gonna miss you princes of pop music !! May GOD rest your soul, you'll be always in our hearts🙏
She was .but also hard to work with too.maybe because what she went through with her record label.being blacklisted from music and movies.
🕊️ RIP Irene Cara 🤍
She should have had a much bigger career than she did. Management and record company legal squabbles pretty much killed her career. Some of it was malicious against her, I read. A shame. An immensely talented and likeable young lady.
And now she's gone. I think she was able to get back her masters a few years ago.
@@karasays01 True in the 90s
I wasn't aware of this. Can you expand a little more?. I always wondered why she wasn't able to sustain her momentum over time. She should have been Diana Ross all over again
@@gregoryphillips3969 I remember a UA-cam video about it, Greg. Can't recall the title but will post if I find it.
@@gregoryphillips3969 Her cut from the song flashdance was approx. $ 3 million dollars. Al Coury pocketed the money and paid Irene $ 183 dollars. Her contract with him stated that he would get half. Al Coury was not content with that and stoled her half as well. When she sued him for the $ 1.5 million owed to her, Al went to work for David Geffen and got Geffen to blacklist her from music and movies. She was unable to get any work and was broke. Her original attorneys sued Network Records, which was a shell company. Like the con man he was, Al Coury emptied it out of the assets prior to the trial so she never received the money she was awarded by the jury and that Al Coury had stolen. She did however stop the theft and got her future royalties which is what she lived off of. The experience gave her psychosis and she moved to Florida to be near her mother.
True Beauty! And ever so talented.
Irene Cara was a beautiful amazing kind soul. I love her and will miss her always. 💙💙💙
How cute she was. She still looks great!
Beautiful then and now :)
She's so cute!
She had a wonderful voice and she was so pretty and sweet. She had a couple of hits and then her career just faded away. I don’t know why. But I will always like What a Feeling and Fame.
RIP Sweet Princess 💐
RIP, Irene.

She just seemed nice and approachable...
Bronx Latinas always the finest.
Irene Cara talks fine.
And interesting people walk in the background.
It didn't just "do well" beautiful angel... It's an absolute ICON of the 80's, not only the movie but the TV series that followed.
You will always be our "Coco"....
Still can't believe you're gone....
R.I.P. beautiful angel... We WILL remember your name!!
😥
R.I.P.
Still gorgeous.. no changes..
May she rest in peace.
I remember this great singer
I'm in love.
Here analog is subsiding and digital is rising. I used to be embarrassed by the 70s, but now I long for their simplicity.
We can keep that simplicity in our own lives as much as possible. But yeah, sh*t was better for sure.
@@HeartFeltGesture I just heard she died several days ago. : (
@@TacShooter Yeah sad news, and it says unclear circumstances, not sure if there is an update on that yet.
RIP
She doesn't look like a big artist she was, is just humble

RIP Irene Cara
Wow
for puerto rican girl she expresses quite fine
I must say this one of the few interviews Ian 'Molly' Meldrum did where Molly searingly did not make any stuff ups (ie the interview with Prince Cahrles in 1977).
who's Prince Cahrles?

1424 pearl DT listening to pearl jam in person damn me me me Irene me dammit
You know what sickens me is Irene Cara was more than those hit songs. Irene was FULL rounded actress and singer. She made movies Arron Loves Angela and Sparkle plus she was in TV movies all of this in the middle to late 70s. Her younger years was on a Kid TV show too. Fame skyrocketed her career then Flashdance What A Feeling hit song. There was always crooks in the movie and music business. She had all the wrong people looking out for her and her career. Irene’s image was too clean and cute going up against Janet Jackson, MaDonna, and Whitney Houston who had bigger companies molding them and their career and pumping money 💴 to make sure they’re huge. With all working against her Irene got lost which is sad because she was a beautiful woman with a good soul. RIP sweetness.
she didn’t age

Wisj John Lennon walked passed....
And this was just a day before he was killed....
I hate the song Fame, the beat to this song makes my skin crawl, it's a shame as some of Irene Cara's other songs are good (Flashdance, The Dream, Why Me?).
and Breakdance.
