One of the greatest songs of all time by one of the greatest bands. Maybe the lyrics on this were lost on our two young friends reacting. Could be the listener has to be over 30 to really appreciate a Divorce song !
This is one I normally can't listen to without crying! Mainly because it got me through a vicious breakup where I was dumped at my senior prom. I read that Agnetha recorded this song and her backing vocals in one take each and left the studio crying because she did not want to do this song and her ex husband Bjorn who wrote the song basically forced her to sing it
@@LilRocker2005 Which isn't true, though she did say she cried when she first read the lyrics. Bjorn asked her if they should get someone else to sing it - she said absolutely not! She insisted it was hers.
This song was written by Björn Ulvaeus, who is the band's guitarist, he's the guy without the beard here. About the really painful divorce he was going through.AND it was sung by Agnetha Faltskog, who was the woman he was divorcing from, which is also why she puts in so much feeling, she knew exactly what Björn was saying in the lyrics, she knew that reality VERY well indeed.
One of the biggest supergroups of the 1970s! ABBA (pronounced ab-ba) was comprised of two couples, and the band's name comes from the first names of the members: Agnetha Faltskog (the blonde who sings lead on this), Bjorn Ulvaeus (the clean-shaven guitarist), Benny Andersson (the bearded keyboard player), and Anni-Frid (Frida) Lyngstad (the redhead in purple). They are one of Sweden's most enduring exports and they have sold over 100 million records worldwide. They are so popular that a stage musical was written using their catalog of songs, which was so successful in London and New York that it was turned into a film...and that film even has a sequel. 'Mamma Mia' is the musical...the film version stars Meryl Streep, Pierce Brosnan, Colin Firth, Stellan Skarsgard, Julie Walters, and Amanda Seyfried (with most of the cast returning for the sequel 'Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again'...not as good, but still a lot of fun.) In 'Mamma Mia', Meryl Streep sings this song...and she will make you cry with her performance (she has got a serious voice, too!!!). This song was written towards the end of ABBA when Agnetha and Bjorn were divorcing, and Benny and Frida's marriage was close to crumbling into divorce. The divorces were what broke ABBA up as a band. But, the music they produced and the legacy that endures...makes this band legendary! Thanks you two...I loved the reaction!!!

OMG, One of the best songs from ABBA. Welcome to the Rabbithole 😂 I grew up with ABBA - they are the soundtrack of my childhood and teenageyears. The guy (Bjorn) next to the leadsinger in this video (Agneta) wrote the lyrics after they went through their divorce, so it was very emotionel for both of Them. And that was the ending of ABBA until this year, where they return with New material 💃🏼🕺🏼👍🥳😂 Ohh halleluja - I can die happy now 🤣🤣🤣🤣
As a kid, they were the one group that my entire extended family could agree that we all liked. I still listen to their songs from time to time and I'm now a hard rock and metalhead in my 50s. Abba are absolutely timeless. Just remembered that I have this song in my old record collection in my parents' house. It was a B-side on what I think was their last single, as well as being a single itself. Oh - and the four of them got married before divorcing. But they stuck together a while longer as a band. This song was allegedly written about what couples go through during a divorce.
It soothes my soul to see the younger generation appreciate ABBA. They are timeless and their music is just incredible. Check out their new album called Voyage...released in Nov 2021. Some awesome songs on that album too.
ABBA is a Swedish pop band founded in 1972 by Anni-Frid Lyngstad (brunette), Benny Andersson (piano), Björn Ulvaeus (guitar) and Agnetha Faltskog (blonde). The band name comes from the acronyms of the names of the band members. The team consisted of 2 marriages: Agnetha and Bjorn, Anni-Frid and Benny. Dissolved officially in 1982 following the breakup of both marriages making up the band. They are considered to be one of the most significant and top-grossing music bands in history (the second most popular band in the history of music after The Beatles), they have sold over 400 million albums all over the world. It was the largest band in the 1970s and at the turn of the 1970s and 1980s. Out of exactly 100 songs officially released, as many as 44 made it to the top of the charts in some country in the world. As many as 9 of their songs took 1st place in the UK charts, 4 songs were in the top 10 of the US charts and unfortunately only one of them (Dancing Queen) made it to the top of this list. Their path to fame began in 1973, when they took part in the Eurovision Song Contest, where they presented the song "Ring Ring" which took 3rd place. A year later they tried their hand at the same competition again, this time with the song "Waterloo" with which they managed to win first place. That's when the whole world got to know the ABBA team. However, many people have argued that this is only a one-hit band. Until... In 1975 they released 2 more hits: "SOS" and "Mamma Mia". It was so much a phonomen, because after the band was almost forgotten by the world of music, their hit "Mamma Mia", remained at the top of the Australian charts for over 5 weeks. Then the song was noticed by British audiences and things started to kick in. As time passed, they became more and more popular and released more issues one. In 1976 they released as many as 4 such songs: "Money, Money, Money", "Fernando", "Knowing Me, Knowing You" and their hit of the three times titled "Dancing Queen". The song "Dancing Queen" is considered the best song of the band and the second most joyful song in the world (according to the official ranking), but for many fans the song "The Winner Takes It All" is number one. In the following years they released such hits as: "Take a Chance on Me", "The Name of the Game", "Thank You for the Music", "I Have a Dream", "Chiquitita", "Voulez-Vous", "Does Your Mother Know", "Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight)", "Lay All Your Love On Me", "Super Trouper", "The Winner Takes It All", and "One of Us". The song for which you recorded the reaction was written after Agnetha and Bjorn's 8-year-old marriage broke up in 1979 (they got married in 1971). The guitarist to be divorced got drunk one night and, drunk, wrote the entire lyrics of the song in just an hour. The song is so emotional because it is about the band members who just got divorced. The second couple divorced after just 3 years of marriage (they got married in 1978 and divorced in 1981). Also after Frida and Benny divorced, a song called "When All Is Said And Done" was written, but unfortunately it did not achieve the same success as the previously mentioned work. Their album "ABBA Gold - Greatest Hits", which is a compilation of 19 of their best songs (all listed above), released in 1992, is the longest-held top 100 albums in the UK (ranked for less than 1000 weeks, over 61 weeks he spent in the top 10, winning 5 times in first place). The album is also the second best selling album in the UK and the 23rd best selling album in the world. The band members performed on stage for the last time on December 11, 1982. After 4 years of separation, they made guest appearances on a TV show. From then on, they were not seen together until 2008, when the premiere of "Mamma Mia" took place (it is a musical based solely on ABBA's hits). At that time, you could see all four in one place, but unfortunately the members of the team hardly exchanged a word with each other. Eight years later, in 2016, the members of the group showed up together after 34 years of separation. All four of them honored with their presence the people who came to the opening of the restaurant "Mamma Mia: the party", they stepped out on the small landing, hugged each other, exchanged a few words and waved to their fans, and they even sang a song named "The Way Old Friends Do"! After 34 years, ABBA together again... Back then they claimed that they absolutely did not intend to come back and play as a band, but less than 2 years later ABBA announced its reactivation!!! We are currently waiting for 5 new songs!!!!!!!!!! I'm sorry to write so much, but I love talking about my beloved band that changed my life and I love sharing my joy with others. I hope to infect you with my love for this band and I hope to see more than one video in which you react to the songs of this band. By introducing you to the (very brief) history of the band, I just wanted to encourage you to see at least a few more of their songs. Let me just emphasize that this is not only a pop band. It's safe to say that they also made a lot of songs in the style of "Rock'n'Roll" and even in the style of typical Rock. There are so many great songs in their work that I am sure you will love more than one and that you will fall in love with this band as much as I do. Love ya and hope to see you in the future 🥰🥰🥰
Fantastic song. Just to let you know, ABBA is pronounced like a word, and not initials. Each letter is the initials of each member of the group's first names.
Abba has many great songs! Waterloo, S.O.S, I belong to you, dancing queen, gimme gimme gimme, Fernando, Take a chance on me, mamma mia, lay all your love on me.
From my town, their music reflect themselves, decent good people... honest, down to earth, no braggery even if on top of the world ♥ Typical Swedish way
Imagine that this song is over 41 years old and it sounds like made yesterday. This was an immensely huge hit all across Europe and many other countries, and some years ago was considered one of the top 100 songs in music history! Abba was (and still is) very popular and during some years in the 70s and 80s they were bigger than Volvo in revenues for Sweden.
THE BREAK UP SONG OF ALL TIME. AFTER A ' SHORT ' BREAK THAT ' ONLY ' LASTED 39 YEARS, ABBA'S BACK WITH 5 NEW SONGS AND AN ABBA AVATAR CONCERT MOVIE. THEY WILL ARRIVE LATER THIS YEAR. ABBA, MY FAVE MUSIC SINCE 1974. SPREAD L💘VE🤗
The other female singer, Anni-Frid, has an amazing, though different, voice. Together they sound incredible. Check out some of her songs where she is the lead, particularly, I Had A Dream (I Believe In Angels) or Like An Angel Passing Through My Room. I love them both. And the guys are great too! Thank you for your reactions! God bless!
ABBA was a Swedish group in the 1970s who sang mostly in English and German. They were AWESOME and I heard them as a kid years ago. I am in my 50s now.
I was 11 when I watched the Eurovision Song Contest in 1974, from Brighton. On came this group, Abba, singing Waterloo. I realised at the time, something special was happening, I wasn't wrong. In the same way people described the Beatles, your favorite Abba song is the last one you listened to. Abba, Thank You For the Music......
ABBA has just announced their comeback!!!!!!!! New album out in november...Its incredible. After 40 years.....YES!!!!! Its true They have allready 2 new singles out. If you are still interested in ABBA. Go listen to the song "Dont shut me down" ...You wont regret it
The Winner Takes It All' by ABBA is one of the most heartbreaking breakup songs of all time, and it always makes us feel emotional. It is said that this song is about Agnetha Fältskog and Björn Ulvaeus filed for divorce in 1979.
There's a lot to see of ABBA. (Prounounced Abba) Their style matured a lot from 1972 to 1983 when they called it quits. The ladies did a few solo albums and the men wrote musicals.
They actually have a musical based on their songs called Mama Mia (named after one of their hits) which I saw about ten years ago. It was also made into a movie. The movie has a sequel. Their songs are so good, when I heard their minor hits that I had never before, in the musical, I thought"Great they've written some new songs for the musical" BOY was I surprised when I found out they were actually written in the 70s/80s. In other words their songs have stood the test of time so well that if you hear them for the first time they sound as if they were written last week. I'm a big Def Leppard fan but I'm not ashamed to admit that ABBA is one of my musical guilty pleasures.
welcme 2 abba, v 3rd higest selling group of all time, vis is a sad song a personal one 4 v group, vey got so many hits in 70s n 80s, cheers frm dwn undr.
A.B.B.A. It was the first group formed by 2 married couples. They were married before forming the band. What makes this song very special is the fact that at that precise moment when it was recorded, the lead singer of the song, Agnetha Faltsfog and Bjorn Ulvaeus, the guitar player, were going through a painful process of divorce and, practically that song is the reflection of what they were living at that time. Agnetha's professionalism is to be admired.
Also it was just announced that all 4 members are going back in the studio to record a brand new album. This will be their first album since I think 1982.
There are two types of ABBA fans, the ones who are proudly fans, and the others who listen to their songs in secret 😉😀😄😜😊😁😉 nobody doesn't have a favorite ABBA song
ABBA was a supergroup in the 70s and early 80’s I was listening to ABBA during the disco era when I was a young kid and still love their music today ! They’re so talented and music stands the rest of time ! The band is pronounced Ab-ah!
HI guys. ABBA was a Swedish band (Anni-Frid "Frida") was born in Norway. The group started cuz of friendship, love and wanting to make music together. They were two couples, but during the later period of their career, both couples divorced. This resulted in a change in their musical style, also in their lyrics. The group existed from 1972-1982. Their breakthrough came with the song Waterloo in 1974. After this they became one of the hugest successes in pop history. They have sold about 400 million records, and are still selling. New generations discover this amazing group. ABBA have had incredibly many hits. It is hard to describe their music, the songs are quite varied. But they were perfectionists in the studio. Working hard with the vocals, arrangements and the production. As a result, many of their songs are timeless classics and very fresh sounding even today. They also are very sympathetic people, down to earth, absolutely no divas. Some of my favourite songs: The Winner Takes It All, Knowing Me Knowing You, The Name of the Game, Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (the long version! 4.53 min!), Super Trouper, When All Is Said And Done and many more.
One of Us is also a great song from Abba. This group is legendary. Portugal here for the Goat Eminem always since day one and forever but also for other good stuff. Thanks for reacting. Salutes. There are only a few 10 or 20 groups or artists living eternally in the Stars, Abba, Queen, Led Zeppelin, Michael Jackson, Eminem, 2Pac, The Beattles, Elvis, and some others. Maximum high respect. There are legendary people and artists than there are the owners of the Stars....
What is different about this band is that their lyrics are really from the heart. Almost every hit they had was about their ex's. Plz check out their song Dancing Queen.
It's not pronounced Ah-Ba, it's pronounced exactly how it's spelt as it's the initials of the band members. There's nobody it the band with a H for their initial.
I appreciate your enthusiasm for the music. However you talked over some important lyrics, thereby missing the message of the song. To prove my point you said nothing about the meaning of the song.
ABBA the band name comes from the first letters of the band members names, they are arranged to form Abba which is the Hebrew word for Father. They were a massively successful singing group from Sweden, with a dozen hits in the 1970s. They got good rotation in the dance clubs called Discos at the time, and later had a revival of their music in a Broadway Musical.
ABBA. Queen. Tom Jones. All my favs in no particular order. Make sure your generation and any of your Children in the future don't miss out on all those. Genuine all time legends need to always be passed down through generations. I know you haven't missed out. :D
About the same time (1980) they had another UK No.1 with Super Trouper, which is one of the 1st songs I remember as a young lad. Check it out, it's a fun one
For me is a sad song since my mom pass away in 1996, I had her age now 46. She loves to hear this songs from group abba, it bring me memories when I was kid.

Ahhhhhh Bahhhhhhh
Agnetha, Björn, Benny, Annifried
A proud Swede here 😍😍🤩🤩
I love that you both enjoy and respect ABBA. When I was in High school it was a big deal to be in the Choir. We sang quite a few ABBA songs.✌💜🎶
Abba has many great songs! Waterloo, S.O.S, I belong to you, dancing queen, gimme gimme gimme, Fernando, Take a chance on me, mamma mia, lay all your love on me.
From my town, their music reflect themselves, decent good people... honest, down to earth, no braggery even if
on top of the world ♥ Typical Swedish way
Imagine that this song is over 41 years old and it sounds like made yesterday. This was an immensely huge hit all across Europe and many other countries, and some years ago was considered one of the top 100 songs in music history! Abba was (and still is) very popular and during some years in the 70s and 80s they were bigger than Volvo in revenues for Sweden.
Uplifting song, vocals are fanastic!😎👊✔️
THE BREAK UP SONG OF ALL TIME. AFTER A ' SHORT ' BREAK THAT ' ONLY ' LASTED 39 YEARS, ABBA'S BACK WITH 5 NEW SONGS AND AN ABBA AVATAR CONCERT MOVIE. THEY WILL ARRIVE LATER THIS YEAR. ABBA, MY FAVE MUSIC SINCE 1974. SPREAD L💘VE🤗
The greatest pop group ever...bar none.
I feel like everyone loves ABBA, all ages from young to old its incredible
I was 11 when I watched the Eurovision Song Contest in 1974, from Brighton. On came this group, Abba, singing Waterloo. I realised at the time, something special was happening, I wasn't wrong. In the same way people described the Beatles, your favorite Abba song is the last one you listened to. Abba, Thank You For the Music......
probably one of the best female singers fantastic voice and still singing today
ABBA wrote some amazing songs. Check out ' voulez vous ' & ' Does Your Mother Know '
Pure talent. No auto tune. .just step on stage and let your talent shine.
Awesome song! These girls had vocals for days without auto tune. They will release 5 new songs later this year 👌🎉🍾 super excited!
Both of the ladies are amazing singers....the true ABBA magic happens when they sing together
They sang many of these songs in Espanol, Swedish and French as well. They are awesome.
abba comes with new music this year

I loved abba im 48 years old and my distant memories of my childhood
ABBA has just announced their comeback!!!!!!!! New album out in november...Its incredible. After 40 years.....YES!!!!! Its true They have allready 2 new singles out. If you are still interested in ABBA. Go listen to the song "Dont shut me down" ...You wont regret it
The Winner Takes It All' by ABBA is one of the most heartbreaking breakup songs of all time, and it always makes us feel emotional. It is said that this song is about Agnetha Fältskog and Björn Ulvaeus filed for divorce in 1979.
Agnetha, is so underrated as far as the most powerfu voices of all, just as good as Celine, Whitney & Mariah
There's a lot to see of ABBA. (Prounounced Abba) Their style matured a lot from 1972 to 1983 when they called it quits. The ladies did a few solo albums and the men wrote musicals.
And also, it's a heartbreak song.
If you haven’t yet listened to dancing queen, that is an absolute MUST!
ABBA have to be the greatest pop group all time with a body of songs that stand the test of time
the best band ever!
I love this song a lot..I discovered Abba in 2004 and I listen to them ever since
welcme 2 abba, v 3rd higest selling group of all time, vis is a sad song a personal one 4 v group, vey got so many hits in 70s n 80s, cheers frm dwn undr.
Just imagine.. no autotunes,, pure talent.
I dance in 3dr grade in school stage ABBA "Money" .Yes I was then 10 years old and that year was 1980. Nostalgia.
I love your reaction. They have so many amazing songs that are totally worth exploring.
My favorite abba song I love abba.
Also it was just announced that all 4 members are going back in the studio to record a brand new album. This will be their first album since I think 1982.
Iuv the face this guy makes u can see this gets him in the heart
Ahhhhhhhh Bahhhhhhhh....try that - love ya!
There are two types of ABBA fans, the ones who are proudly fans, and the others who listen to their songs in secret 😉😀😄😜😊😁😉 nobody doesn't have a favorite ABBA song
Now you gotta hear DANCING QUEEN!
Excellent intro to such a hit-making machine that was Abba; the trilling & crescendos in this are truly still amazing.
It's fantastic watching your reactions to the legends I grew up listening to, in the 70s 80s, you really make my day, thankyou
ABBA was a supergroup in the 70s and early 80’s I was listening to ABBA during the disco era when I was a young kid and still love their music today ! They’re so talented and music stands the rest of time ! The band is pronounced Ab-ah!
Just a side note.........you guys are adorable!!! I wish I could have kids just like you. I wish you all the luck in the world with your house!!!
4.53 min!), Super Trouper, When All Is Said And Done and many more.
parabéns pelo vídeo, e eu sou fã do ABBA
Plz check out their song Dancing Queen.
yes this nice song memories song since 1983#regards malaysia
This song was written about the divorce between the singer (Agnatha) and one of her band mates... and it is pronounced "Ah-Ba"
"Thank you for the music" is one of my favorite songs to this day. 💜
Yes! ABBA! Aren’t their harmonies Fantastic? Got to hear “Hung Up” 🔥Dancing Queen”🕺
Each one of the band members of this group was a star in his and her own personal life, but together they formed the super group known as ABBA
ABBA. Queen. Tom Jones. All my favs in no particular order.
Make sure your generation and any of your Children in the future don't miss out on all those.
Genuine all time legends need to always be passed down through generations.
I know you haven't missed out. :D
I grew up listening to them in Spanish, they were huge in Europe and Latin America
Agnetha mi Amor imposible.
ABBA ARGENTINA te AMAAA.
They truly are legends. You should hear SOS, Dancing Queen and Fernando. Great music!
ABBA 🇸🇪
