Ported subs may be at a small advantage for overall output but a high powered sealed sub always is a better compromise when weighing in a comparison between movies and music. I have both a sealed SVS sub and a ported model so I am going by a direct in room comparison.

I can give you my thoughts on the SB-1000 vs the RSL though - the Speedwoofer 10S will have more output, though the SB-1000, in my opinion, does sound quite a bit better. Though, as I mentioned, I am a big fan of sealed subs. Both of them have 45-day trial periods, so we would encourage you to try both and see which you like the most.

Obviously the driver size goes up throughout the range but even the 1000 punches well above its weight. We definitely recommend both LOTR 4K and a dedicated soundcard!! Could come in really handy when reviewing different types of gear. 😀

Unfortunately we don't have any experience with either the KEF meta speakers or the Klipsch center channel so we can't comment on their sound quality, but we would always recommend trying to use the same manufacturer for all of your speakers (or at least your Left, Center, and Right channels) to make sure they have similar tonal properties. We certainly don't think you'd be disappointed with the SB-1000 though!
I have the KEF LS50 Metas on the KEF stands, KEF Sub92, Yamaha WXC-50 preamp, and Yamaha AS701 amp. In my opinion, these speakers are the best bang/buck if you need audiophile sound. The system is about $5k in the 2.1 setup and I'd say it outperforms Wilson WATT puppies. I'd take this KEF sub over any of the SVS subs I've heard. Side note: I also have these speakers (just not hooked up) - Definitive Technology Mythos ST-L, Klipsch RP600m, Klipsch KFL30, and have owned a lot more speakers over the years.
i have one sb1000 in my 5x4m room and honestly its a perfect match for my apartment. i prefer it over the ported one aswell even for movies. I really cant agree on peoples review that it has too little power would be bad for movies whatsoever. i cant even put the little sb at more than 60% gain because else it would be too much, my doors are literally rattling if i push him hard enough (wich i dont) it integrates so well into my system. the bass is dry, tight and fast, discreet enough in music to not overwhelm the room and the neighbors and keep a balanced sound yet it digs deep enough if movies call for it that you think a train would be driving by outside (like seriously... it did happen, one movie had a very subtle bass note in one scene and i was actually muting my audio peeking out the window to see if a train goes by because i could not excactly tell if the sub did it or not...was awesome)

We would have to give the reward to the SB-1000 as in our opinion, sealed boxes just do a much better job at reproducing tight and fast bass, which is more desirable for music, but the RSL Speedwoofer is still a very capable sub with more output. They're both great options depending on your budget and preference!
@@TwoGuyzTechOne of the worst lies in this industry. First question should be "what kind of music". Becouse when it comes to the bass heavy music, sb 1000 is close to useless. If you talk about genres like blues, country etc. you need good pair of floor speakers instead of sub. Either ways I don't reccomend it.

@@carsthatgoboom4854 I've got 2 of them and it was the worst audio purchase in my life. They are very weak with MASSIVE distortion(measurments show more than 40% !!!). Very overpriced and overhyped. I have to admit that I listen to electronic music with a lot of deep bass.

The line level outs are for speaker passthrough. They have a fixed 80hz 12dB/octave high-pass.

It's explosive like $1 firecracker. Basically for those who don't like the bass. Super overhyped and overpriced sub. Don't reccomend.
