Yeah I think you're right about "weeks" being mistranslated from new game and ng+. There was a comment that got translated and it was asking about whether defeating Radahn and Mohg unlocked the DLC for "many weeks" and someone responded saying it should need to be unlocked separately for each week (run).

Yes. He’s essentially just saying that you’ll need to kill the required bosses (of course) to access the DLC every playthrough. The same way you gotta kill specific bosses to access parts of the main game, every NG+
I think it is interesting that, you don’t have to finish the games story to play the DLC, I think it’ll be a prequel type thing, plus the fact none of the elden ring NPCs are in the DLC
it's not a "prequel" it's a parallel story in another continent

It’s worth noting that when he said it takes him 30 hours to complete that it my first play through took me 120 hours however my following play through I’ve optimized down to about 12 hours per run on new characters so 30 is a reasonable ground
My first ER playthrough was… over 300 hours. BUT I fully completed game in one run except for the 3 endings trophy. Killed every enemy and boss, found every weapon, item, armor and gear. Combed through every square inch of the lands between. Then I did 6 more consecutive playthroughs and put the game down for good. I’m very much looking forward to a brand new playthrough from scratch in preparation for SOTE. I’m literally building my first PC specifically to replay ER and and then play the DLC.

Hey dude I got a question from Twilight princess? How did zany get the mirror of twilight in the temple of time? Do you think it has anything to do with the sage sword that ganondorf stole from the dead sage? And if it's not what could do it? Perhaps the hero of time had something to do with it? And if so why? Final thing I swear...did twilight princess link end up in termina the same as the old hero of time instead of the twilight realm where he thought midna would be? And if so what happened to him?
Gotta wonder about the time completion numbers. I kept a check list and at just 67 hours( I did just walk away quite a few time to do things like wash dishes) the game was some 95% checked off?
Those numbers are averages, so not everyone will have exactly the average.
Completionist is listed as 130 hours but my first play through was more than double that. That doesn’t discredit the average, it just means I’m an outlier on the curve.

Something to keep in mind about Miyazaki, is that he’s basically KNOWN for down playing the scale of his games. He’s always does it. When he says something like “there’s no guarantee you’ll have any questions answered after finishing the DLC”, I just think he’s insinuating that you have to go out of your way to put the story together, like you have to in the base game. You could play through the entire base game and have no clue what the plot is if you’re missing dialogue/NPC’s, and not reading item descriptions. I think that’s what he means.
The fact that you need to defeat Mohg confirms that you will enter the DLC via the cocoon in his arena as was theorised
I have 100℅ elden ring in my third play through at 200hrs, with "some" UA-cam guide and Wikipedia. Been gaming for 20+ years, by far elden ring was the best for me and im not even a soul fan before, but now i know what git gud means. The design, mechanics, model, game world, scripts, moveset, story and lore are all tailored to perfection, what a masterpiece.
I’m kinda sad that the dlc will scale with my current new game I really hope the scaling is on point cuz I’m not trying to get oneshot by some random enemy in a dungeon

My first play thru took 192hrs, now that was me going for platinum everything aside from the “complete multiple endings” which I am working towards in my NG+ I started NG+ with the hope it would scale to the DLC so that’s exciting, but man I hope I don’t have to complete the base game again to access the DLC entrance point. Similar to most DLC I have a feeling we’ll enter from somewhere in base (Miquella cocoon most likely)

Miyazaki has stated in other interviews that he doesn't play his own games. So his estimation of the time for completion has nothing to do with his personal experience of playing through the games
For reference he think we takes 30-60 of campaign and much longer to do everything else… the campaign is 3 hours(most of which is using your sparrow to boost through their empty world) and the overall game is 60-70 hours.
So miyazaki himself is a scrub who cant wven stomach his own games😂

If I remember correctly, the team that made Armored Core 6 said that they generally use Miyazaki as a metric to evaluate the difficulty of their games, if he can't pass it means the game is too difficult.
It took me 7 months just to “complete” the base game. It took me 7 more months to get all the gold trophies. It took me 3 more months to get to lvl 414. Then 2 more months to explore EVERYTHING. And 2 more weeks to get the platinum trophy.

Miyazaki was right on his estimates imo. My first lap through Elden Ring took under 30 hours. The next one when I 100% took like 50. And I'm not particularly skilled or anything.

Dude what if miquella is multiple people, not just melina, but also potentially Radagon and Marika. It's been hinted that miquella lived a different life from the other gods/shardbearers so in a sense he could have had 4 separate persons in total
The “new levelling system” for the DLC sounded kinda whack to me at first, but I’m honestly kinda glad it’s the direction they’re taking it. I’m level 350 at ng8, I am NOT making a new character 6 weeks before the dlc drops 😂

Nobody’s forcing you to watch it.
Having a definitive answer that SotE will be the only DLC is pretty big news. On the one hand, it's disappointing because there are so many huge questions about the story that we're unlikely to get answered. On the other, it means they can start on a sequel earlier if they haven't already (From likes to simultaneously develop multiple releases).

The way I interpret Miquella and Trina being "different existences" (w/o having a real translation) is that they are not the same person. But like Miyazaki said, they are definitely related in some way. The distinction is interesting because it doesn't seem to be a Marigon situation, since they are consider one "existence."

Super happy with the relative confirmation that the DLC will be its own thing. I've seen others preparing characters in the base game and have been wanting to do the same but I was always concerned I'd end up missing content when the DLC actually released.
Miquella is mentioned in the preview, so if what you're saying is true, it's a different Miquella? It must be the same person. I think the "Shadow of the Erd Tree" is Miquella's Haligtree.

I love the lore of Elden Ring and quite happy sit down to watch videos about it. I like that this game is about Miquella and his ambiguous plans for the Lands Between, which we thought never came to fruition. He seemed like a good and noble Demigod, but this DLC might tell a different story.
I wonder if this is set before or after the Tarnished? Was he corrupted by Mohg, or someone else? Can't wait to find out :)
