Faith Overhaul interview with Josh McDowell. Why are Christians leaving the church? Why is GenZ so lonely for "community"? How bad is the issue of pornography in churches today and what is the expected result?

The main reason why Christians are leaving the church is that even leading apologists like McDowell can write a book like "Evidence that demands a verdict.“ that has 1000 pages but doesn’t contain any actual evidence.😂

The modern, unbiblical church service is a good demonstration of why people leave churches. We're supposed to meet together as equals. God gave every member gifts to be used in a gathering, so that we could all contribute our gifts for mutual edification. What I see here is one member dominating the service with all other members not using their gifts. The members who sit and do nothing wither and become passive and apathetic. I believe the Holy Spirit wants to get rid of this hierarchical church and decentralize us to we can all use our gifts.

Because churches won't stop asking for money and building huge buildings for millions of dollars and are dishonest about what Jesus taught about money or what the bible teaches about money for that matter. Huge reason and people see right through it. And I am a Jesus follower. Give your money to those who need it, the poor, starving, disabled etc. not the church system and building. IMO

Josh has a different definition for an atheist than I have. As someone who is an Atheist I think i.e. someone who doesn't believe there is a God or gods but never claims to know there definitely isn't one, if I heard a fellow atheist state that they where not a Theist because they where smarter than this I think I would point out that intelligence does not determine whether someone is an atheist or a theist and not to judge those differently so negatively . Some survey research among Millennials reveals interesting facts. This is one demographic of Christians who are leaving. They don't like to be shamed for wrongdoing. They don't like LGBTQ2 friends being excluded from church. People who are divorced do not feel welcome in the church. They do not like judging people (which is the wrong place to go in many church cases), general lack of interest as one gets older is also a problem. Millennials want a voice, and many churches do not allow this. There is also some doctrinal differences with church leaders.

Every religion without exception has an issue with absolute literal interpretation versus allegorical interpretation. There are recorded incidents in every religion that are not scientifically compatible. On the other hand, the societal ethics in all major religions coincide in advocating a pure, harmonious civil life. You must decide as an individual what you will accept literally, what you will interpret allegorically, and whether you will follow the social ethics a religion requires of you. It's your responsibility to decide, not the responsibility of some intermediary like the man interviewed in this video.

Intelligent people worldwide are leaving the church because they are educating themselves about religious history. The days of the ignorant follower is coming to a close. The church, with all its high minded ideas, morals and ideals, dual thinking and self righteous talk has been found virtually powerless. A broken, near useless crutch for small minded, fearful and weak hearted people.
The only thing people need from religion lives deep inside each of us and religion has failed to awaken this divinity that lives within us all. Humanity does not need a savior, only an awareness of ones own divinity and to follow it. That was the message of all the great human avatars who spoke truth.
Thankfully, as we leave the dark age of faith and enter the new age of knowledge and wisdom,, religion is taking its rightful place among the pages of history. Long may it rest there never to rise again.

the fundamental reason people are leaving the church is 1) preconceived notions based on what Aunt Sally taught me as a toddler, 2) I want a religion that doesnt require me to assume responsibility for my sins and decisions, 3) i hate discipline and enjoy being lazy but blaming the consequences on those damned rich people who are far more diligent than I.
The church of Christ has been under attack from the very beginning. What we are seeing now in this departure is the fulfillment of 2 thessalonians , "The apostle Paul declared: 2Th 2:1-5 "Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sits in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things? ". Also this scripture = 1Jn 2:18,19 Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time. They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.

I believe the Holy Spirit is scattering the real Church, the Body of Christ, so that He can stop the unbiblical, top-down church hierarchy and artificial separation of clergy and laity. Christ is the head, and we are all members of one another. God never designed this militaristic church hierarchy to dominate the rest of the Body of Christ.

The real problem are people like you who prefer to pretend that there must be something wrong with the people who are leaving instead of dealing with the inconvenient fact that people are leaving because they realize that there isn’t any evidence for their beliefs.

Twenty years ago a leading Christian theologian stated that in ten years 100000 people will leave the church.
This is the fourth video I've watched on the question why Christians are leaving the church.
All four including this one has missed the one thing that has changed:
    The Church.
    Seeker services.
    Hymns replaced by repetitive words.
Pastors preaching to emotions rather than intellect.
    Not preaching about sin.
The institution of marriage being tossed aside in favor of gay and lesbian marriages.
    Women pastors.
The Church in retrospect has become like the world.
It is no wonder that the Russian Orthodox Patriarch has stated twice that the West and the Protestant church is lost.
