hey so I'm the guy in the abarth, I didn't race thinking I was gonna win, but if the gti is running 13s 1/4 mile and I got beat by lets say 4 bus lengths then I'm not upset. I have a passion for cars so its all fun. This guy has a nice car and its fast I have respect for that, but I would still race him or any car any time why not.

It's awesome to see what our ankle biter Abarths can do. That said, bring it on GTi... I'll see you at autocross :-). I beat every single Ford ST product last year at nationals so I think the strength of the Abarth ... Clearly isn't straight line drag races.

Even if the Abarth was 200-220 hp, it still could not match a GTI Stg 2, maybe a Stg 1 yes. And that Abarth would not last long at the 215-220 hp mark anyway.
Michael Harris tell that to the thousands of people running abarths at 220hp lol and no an abarths couldn't even hang with a stage 1 mk7 at those numbers. I own an Abarth they're not all that fast even tuned.

However you'll find that actual prices on the lot put the Fiat at just under $25k typically and the GTI hovering around $27k+ so they're fairly close in price, but if you start adding options.. the GTI quickly escalates past the $30k mark. The Abarth won't do that.

I think they come stock rated between 155-160hp at the crank. I know it really wasn't a fair race, but he seemed confident and I thought the 600lbs+ weight advantage he had would make up some of the power difference.

You should look up some of the cars Humblemk7 has beat, same setup as I had here and his kill list is much more impressive. These MK7s respond very well to mods and are underrated by a good bit from the factory too.

The owner already responded here, he was tuned. I made 381WHP and trap 118mph on pump gas right now.... I don't know of any street legal Fiats in the states that are going to "give me the business".
this was real, I just got the Abarth a month before so was still learning the car, I had traction control full on for starters. All I had at the time was a piggyback ecm from road race motorsports. No excuses this Gti won hands down.
Before I watch this, why don't you Abarth guys get a mind and life. 7.3 0-60 isn't going to win any races, nor is 15.7@90 mph. And those little engines can't handle 200-220 hp for long before BOOM.
