I have such a soft spot for Beotodus; the elegance of combining subnivean hunting with a shark's notoriety. Generally, any creature that reflects a simple but nuanced concept is usually an excellent pick; Bazelgeuse, who twists the idea of a carrion seeker by having it full-on firebomb enviroments and pick over the charred remnants, or Nergigante, who functions more like an adaptable bear than a fantastical dragon. It's so delightful how even the more outlandish creatures display notably realistic behaviour. Recollect Brachydios bringing down an Uragaan, not by just upfront brutalising it, but catching it off-guard with a slime fest then hanging back and waiting for it to be brought down by the blasts, an appreciable mirror to venomous snakes casually tracking down a poisoned victim.
Similar to zamtrios for you. Tigrex for me will never leave my top 5. The moment i fell in love with the series was when i got hard stuck on tigrex in mh freedom 2, and slowly but surely learning his patterns and windows made me truly appreciate the depth this series can have
My personal fav monster is wind serpent Ibushi I know some people don’t like him but I will forever appreciate him he was my first ever elder dragon and he showed me what this series can do and what these creatures could be.
Honestly was not expecting half of these monsters in the top 10, and I'm pleasantly surprised. It's nice to see people having different opinions and giving some of the more niche monsters some love!
Man i love hearing peoples thoughts on their favorite monsters. Always difficult question to answer when it comes to favorites. I feel the same way as cotton about bazel when it comes to deviljho. When i finally got the chance to hunt it i cut its tail and it landed on the corpse where monsters eat on and i too thought it was eating its tail. Little fledgling hunter me was horrified. I guess as far as monsters go, somewhere around the top for me would be Bazel, pickle, Gore Primordial Malzeno, Gogmazios Amatsu and Bloodbath Diablos.
I have a few decidedly out-of-left-field picks as my favourites. Legiana, for its unparalleled elegance; Aknosom, for being a early game monster with a very unique design and great equipment; Great Jagras, for having arguably the best gimmick of any monster; Uragaan, for being such a creatively imposing prescence; Tzitzi-Ya-Ku for being a friend in other hunts. Coral Pukei would make the list too, if not for its undodgeable water beam. I play bowgun, and I get hit every single time.
I’ve only played Rise and Sunbreak but I’ve seen others play the other games 1.Malzeno and his variant 2.Shagaru Magagla 3.Gaismagorm 4.Astalos 5.Almudron and his subspecies 6.B.O.B 7.Savi’Jiiva 8.Silver Rathalos 9.Unkanlos 10.Chameleos
You're stronger than me, Cotton. Making a list of my favorite monsters would take me quite a while because my mind changes too much. Dodogama is in my top three, but that's the only concrete one I can think of right now. 😆
Fun fact, Shara Ishvalda's eye don't actually follow the camera instead Shara's eyes are modelled differently as instead of being spheres they are merely curved causing an optical illusion where they look like they're looking at the camera, often referred to as the "hollow-face illusion"
I'm surprised bishaten didn't make the list he liked that one pretty well. Although we all know the most iconic moment from monsters on this list. "WHAT!?!?" *controller drop* 😂
kulve torath, tobi kadachi, stygian zinogre. World got me into the series and ive gone back and played most of the older titles since, and these 3 always stood out the most to me.
Great list, and the only one that took me aback a bit was Coral Pukei who's just like, kinda cool imo? But the explanation really sells him too. I do love that guy, and normal Pukei
I always love these lists, because it basically shows how everyone has their own reasons to love MH, and yet MH has something really fun for them. Badass? Sure. Creepy? Sure. Weird? Sure. Funky? Sure. Cute? Weird choice to kill, but Sure. The list is endless. Personally my current favorite is Bazel, just cause I love the idea of this dude basically being "Oh wait, I hear someone? Are they playing? I wanna play to!!" Except playing is brutally fighting each other. Kinda like a Saiyan basically 🤣🤣. I'd love if Seething also becomes an invader in MH6.
We all have our favorites, and that is what makes this game so enjoyable! Honestly, I wanted to hear the honorable mentions to know what your thoughts on what almost was in the top ten!
I love cotton talks, this was a great video I have some weird ones, and I have such a hard time pinning down my top three. Great Wroggi is number 1 for sure, and Gaismagorm is definitely up there, but I can’t decide who to go third
It’s always so interesting to hear what monsters people like the most. Everyone has a valid opinion but damn, outside of Goss and Bazelgeuse I actively avoid fighting most of these monsters listed.
I know its not exactly a "monster hunter" monster- But i strongly feel Behemoth from the Final Fantasy cross over is one of, if not the best, for me, fights/monsters in the franchise. They did such an amazing job of capturing the concept of behemoth, and translating him into the monster hunter experience- And the absolutely captured the perfect blend of *both* games. It genuinely left me wishing for / wanting "more" monsters that *felt* like the behemoth fight.
My top 10 10. Malzeno 9. Diablos 8. Anjanath 7. Espinas 6. Garangolm 5. Safi’jiva 4. Teostra 3. Goss Harag 2. Tigrex 1. Deviljho All variants and subspecies are included in the ranking as they show the potential versatility of the monster
This is a random thought that has very little to do with this video but it came to me while watching this. If Duramboros is a hammer, Glavenus a great sword and Qurupeco a hunting horn. Lets pretend you could give Capcom input on a brand new monster for MH6. What kind of monster would you suggest based on this monster/weapon Hybrid theme? P.S. this is just food for thought i don't expect an answer i just want whoever reads to have fun with this one.
My list from 10 to 1 would probably be this currently. 10: Fatalis 9: Astalos 8: Lagiacrus 7: Gammoth 6: Najarala 5: Nakarkos 4: Lunagaron 3: Tobi Kadachi 2: Zamtrios 1: Namielle
You guys introduced me to Monster Hunter and made me fall in love with the series as I watched Pro & Noob, so much so I have +1000 hrs in both MHW and Iceborne, thanks 😉
Even though I have only played Monster Hunter for over 2 years, I have greatly enjoyed playing it. If I had a PS5 or PC right now, I'd be jumping into World on the triple. I've ranked every monster that I have fought against, which was difficult once it got to the top 30.
yeah i want more monsters that aren't announced in promotional material so they are a surprise in game. bazel is fantastic, him being a bomber plane wyvern with an air raid siren roar fits so well. i hope he's a mainstay, Rise's mechanics sort of ruined his core personality so i'd love to see him back to his beautiful invading self. i was never the type to use dung on him, it was always more fun to let him cause chaos and damage my target with me as i was dealing his bombs. we need more bugs, i love the seltas quartet, the seltas and coresponding queen for both species. it's such a unique monster and also 1 of the best subspecies off the old world gens. i hope in the future that the interaction of eating the seltas isn't as rare, it's such an awesome part of her personality. then the subspecies that uses her seltas as cannon balls. shara's best trait is its beam. if you use a shielded weapon against it you may know what i mean, it's not a single hit box, where you block it and as the animation persists you're safe since it has triggered failing to hit you so it's a punishing opportunity or the rest of it, it's a machine gun that shreds you stamina unless you are clever and face at an angle rather than head on you will be safely knocked out of it rather quickly. it's also a death star style laser so extra cool factor. if its not distracted it will also shoot you if you try to latch onto it, which suits its expansion very well. there is debate in the community over rakna vs. nerscylla but i prefer rakna personally. i'd love ot see nerscylla in a future game, and its nonsensical desert dwelling, khezu eating, webbing hanging from nothing shenanigans. rakna using the children as tools and solk armor is such a great mechanic. yeah yama kurai is a great concept. oh hell yeah, coral pukei pukei is such an amazing subspecies the only thing that could be better is if his tail cut worked sort like the original, where the stuff shot out of it becomes shorter range instead or removing the attacks entirely. the tongue splitting the beam is so creative, i love it so much. i love namielle, it's one of my favorite elders. beg you Capcom, cure namielle's weapons. is such an amazing monster design and its weapons of all the monsters that are bits on sticks weapons is the most sad to me. i also find it funny that this is the 3rd water elder, with ceadeus and amatsu that are touted for their master of elements but their cb is impact phial for some reason. why isn't 1 of them element phial type? my noob friend, who i got into the series with Rise, has told me for a long time that goss harag is his favorite monster to fight, i can't blame him, he's fantastic. i just can't wait till he experiences more games and see if it stays that way. nah, for me, zamtrios is definitely better. he's an armored shark that has a quirky psyche out moves of never actually a hip check, his baloon mode and his classic swimming at you under the ice with his fin sticking out like a classic shark. come on Capcom, he's the only brute wyvern, base monster, not given a post MHW fight. i hope they go nuts when he does come back with how he interacts with the map. like him knocking over trees to extend reach of his spin and said trees stay knocked down or the hunt as ledges. he's just so awesome, as a weapon type used for a monster concept. i love him.
Honestly world was my first and so far only Monster Hunter but there are still so many fantastic monsters they put in that game alone that are just incredible and it's really cool at least to me that almost any monster you could think of could very easily be put in another game as a boss or plot point and still fit so well
We share a few monsters in our top ten lists. Namielle is in the exact same spot for me at number four. My top three tend to shuffle depending on the day, but they are (in no particular order): Coral Pukei-Pukei, Mizustune, and Paolumu. Why are the top three of my fave monsters are all some shade of pink when my favorite color is teal? Who knows!
Yours is one of the few comments I've seen on these vids that vibes with my own choices! 😊 I have always adored Paolumu, easily my pre-Iceborne favourite and possibly still top. Namielle is incredible, top 3 for me I think. Others I love are Dodogama, Shara Ishvalda, Velkhana, Tobi-Kodachi and then the one that sort of differs the most from that bunch: Odogaron.
I don't have a top ten, but if I had to choose a favorite monster from the mainline games, I'm stuck between three options. Ahtal ka, CG valstrax, and Primordial malzeno.
Why, why, I was expecting yain kit ku to make a top 10. I remember first seeing him in monster hunter. I was like A DRAGOOOON!!!. I was going back then
My personal top 10 favorite monsters after playing Sunbreak: 10. Gaimagorm 9. Lunagaron 8. Kushala Daora 7. Amatsu 6. Velkhana 5. Malfestio 4. Shagaru Magala 3. Astalos 2. Primordial Malzeno 1. Ahtal-Ka Gaismagorm is a demonic presence that sends a chill down my spine. The true master of the qurios has attacks that make me feel like I've been dragged to inferno. I love that so much. His design transitions are also a glory to behold. Firstly, I love werewolves. Secondly, I love how metal it is that Lunagaron forces itself to stand up by freezing its muscles what sounds like adjusting its spine with ice. Thirdly, I cannot bring myself to kill Lunagarons because of their pained howl at the end. Unless I am fighting afflicted lunagaron, I will always capture. He's also my most hunted monster in Sunbreak. Now dragons are my favorite mythological monsters. Kushala Daora has the most badass design of the elder dragons in my opinion. Its simple, but my gosh is it effective. The steel tornadoes, the dragon energy slams, and even his wind aura makes him a blast. I especially love the detail where you can't hit him in most areas with bow when he has his wind aura up. It makes logical sense and doesn't feel like bullshit. Also, contrary to the popular opinion, I actually enjoyed Kushala in GU. Sure his being in the air was annoying, but it wasn't detrimental for me. I also find it hilarious when I am blown back by his wind aura. Amatsu was already one of my favorite monsters, but his Sunbreak incarnation propelled him to new heights for me (pun intended). The added lightning with his attacks, his attacks feeling so smooth, his roar is heavenly, and do not get me started on his design. Now I will admit that I do gravitate to ice bosses quite a bit. Perhaps its because I love the cold, or because they don't have the best rep. Regardless, I am always interested in what ice bosses, levels, or enemies will bring to the table when I engage with them. Velkhana is an example of an ice boss that really caught my attention. Her design is gorgeous, her attacks have this sense of urgency that other monsters don't give me, and I adore how she freezes other monsters for her own enjoyment. That last part really speaks to my sadistic side. The owl jester is a hilarious trickster. Confusion status is fun, his unique application of the sleep debuff is absolutely awesome, his design is fantastic, and his insistence on sleeping on a branch where you can't get to him is frustrating in a good way. While I do love the design and rogue nature of the Nightcloak, I like base Malfestio more just because it is more fun. My lightning gladiator boy is just pure aggression and I love it so much. His design is incredible, his attacks are epic, and I just love how he looks when he charges up. I also have two very memorable kill screens with Astalos during my sunbreak adventure. The first is when I killed a Chameleos with the ending of Astalos' punisher. Seeing Astalos flatten Chameleos was quite the sight. The second is when I readied a counter with Switch Axe and said come at me Astalos. Astalos did his grounded rush attack as if to say fine you asked for this. Then I killed him with the counter as soon as his wing arm slammed down. The particles from the counter mixed in with the green crackle of Astalos' electricity. Now that was a beautiful kill screen. I thought for a bit on whether I like base Malzeno or Primoordial Malzeno more. I decided that while I do love the vampire elder dragon, the backstory with it being a knight corrupted by the qurios is too good. I love how he swaps from using his wing arms as a sword and shield, to using them as dual blades. That final phase is also incredibly brutal, but it has a nice rhythm to it. His super attack is chaotic as fuck, but I love it so much. Now Ahtal-Ka is a mix of a boss fight and a natural monster fight in my eyes. It blends the two so well that it makes me want to cry at the beauty of it. Her design is gorgeous. I love her pharaoh aesthetic, as well as how she loots fortresses to add shinies to her "pyramid". The mech is a beauty to behold. Her usage dragonators is awesome of course. Finally, I do love just how aggressive she gets in her final phase. It really adds a sense of urgency to the fight. I know that some people may see Ahtal-Ka being my favorite monster as a bit of a cop out, but I do not care. She is my favorite monster, she'll likely stay that way for a long time.
i love bear lovers! i too am a bear lover and am absolutely obsessed with them. goss harag is cool but i think lagombi is slightly cooler beouse he reasy resmbles a dangerous cuddle bear.
New question….. who is the pro and who is the noob now 👀, has the student become the master now? Do you think they’ll bring back the least enjoyed monsters? I feel like they should do that, bring back the most hated/enjoyed and revamp them
I want lots of tiny little insects that join together to mimic different monsters like venom(symbiote) or the microbots from big hero six i think having group of tiny little monsters that switch skeletons like crazy in the fight by moving around like a liquid would be really cool
I never understand why people love rakna-kadaki. when i first saw it in the trailers for MH Rise i was so excited for the fight and it felt like a huge letdown for me. Its moves feel so clunky for me and the use of its webs and spiderlings never really felt dynamic and amazing. For me its just a punching bag that i have to clean of its webs cause nobody wanted to use it for a long time. Pyre-kadaki felt a little bit better and shoul have been Rakna-Kadaki from the start. And i absolutely hate pukei-pukei in all its variants xD. this chameleonlooking thing is simply no freaking BIRDwyvern and should join the raptors.
Your Video descriptions become worse with every video. I mean i know a video description works simular like video title when it comes to searching videos, but come on.
The Monster Hunter community would honestly never be the same without these guys, because they're the ones who makes the franchise even more enjoyable.
Feel the same way
Really appreciate that man
Agreed
until they make 20 videos about MH6 without any real info
Totally wouldn’t be the same without them
I have such a soft spot for Beotodus; the elegance of combining subnivean hunting with a shark's notoriety.

Has it been 6 years already!? Damn time flies.
I play bowgun, and I get hit every single time.
its always fun to have your top 10 favourites completely change after a new game comes out lol

Nice
I'm surprised bishaten didn't make the list he liked that one pretty well. Although we all know the most iconic moment from monsters on this list. "WHAT!?!?" *controller drop* 😂
kulve torath, tobi kadachi, stygian zinogre. World got me into the series and ive gone back and played most of the older titles since, and these 3 always stood out the most to me.

You're top pick surprised me but I totally get it. There's so much goofy weirdness to love.
It’s always so interesting to hear what monsters people like the most. Everyone has a valid opinion but damn, outside of Goss and Bazelgeuse I actively avoid fighting most of these monsters listed.

Well, P. Malzeno is your sword and shield, and acidic glavenus acts more like a longsword
@@synchrosaint4830 Pmalzeno os meant to be lance cos of how he counter guards and stuff
@@synchrosaint4830 and goss harag is DB
There is an actual hunting horn whale in frontier that does buffs and stuff
Now we need Josh’s top 10 😈
My list from 10 to 1 would probably be this currently.

You need to try monster hunter frontier it’s much more harder especially in G rank 💀

Why, why, I was expecting yain kit ku to make a top 10. I remember first seeing him in monster hunter. I was like A DRAGOOOON!!!. I was going back then
You did well to exclude Banbaro. After all they aren't monsters, they're fluffy friends.
Mt list of favorites:
1. Nergigante
2. Lagiacrus/Seething Bazelguese (tie)
3. Safi
4. Zinogre
5. Coral Pukie Pukie
6. Greatest Great Jagras
7. Shara Ishvalda
8. Safi Jivaa
9. Beotodus
10. Rajang.
You put safi in twice
u have safi twice.... also..... BEOTODUS!?
actually who am i to judge my favorite is rathian
@@borzoilover4156 woops, thanks for pointing that out.
@@SobBaget602 both Rathian and Beo are good animals for starters, Beo is league's beyond most monsters.
Noobbb, I still remember monster hunter 1 trying to steal that wyvern egg screaming my head off
The Celestial Dragon from wild hearts deserves a shoutout imo.
Thats not monster hunter
My personal top 10 favorite monsters after playing Sunbreak:
10. Gaimagorm
9. Lunagaron
8. Kushala Daora
7. Amatsu
6. Velkhana
5. Malfestio
4. Shagaru Magala
3. Astalos
2. Primordial Malzeno
1. Ahtal-Ka
Gaismagorm is a demonic presence that sends a chill down my spine.
I feel like they should do that, bring back the most hated/enjoyed and revamp them
Would Iove to hear your top 5 small monsters Mr. small monster hunter
I wonder if this had anything to do with the conversation Josh and Cotton had in that one video not too long ago.
Top Monsters of All Time:
1. Shara Ishvalda
2. Tetranadon
3. Yama Tsukami
4. Kirin
5. Estrillian (yes I'm cheating)
6. Ibushi
7. Guanzorumu
8. Laviente
9. Safi'jiiva
10. Zorah Magdaros (no joke)
Has it really been 6 years that’s crazy
Garangolm will remember this...
Now i wanna see an animation where fatalis asks for belly rubs
Does anyone have a link to Cotton reacting to Zamtreos. I'd like to watch that
3 way tie between Behemoth, Fatalis, and Gore (and Shaggaru) magala
I hope they add more invading type of monsters like jho and bagel. In the next game.
I want lots of tiny little insects that join together to mimic different monsters like venom(symbiote) or the microbots from big hero six i think having group of tiny little monsters that switch skeletons like crazy in the fight by moving around like a liquid would be really cool
World w / Iceborne had 4, which imo is 2 too many.
There were 4 invaders in world?
@@casualgamer7343 there was banbaro although his ai was not like the other 3 where they would go to areas when other monsters roar
Duramburos = Hammer.
Spin to win.
Fingers Cross for Shara Ishvalda to be in the next Game
I never understand why people love rakna-kadaki. when i first saw it in the trailers for MH Rise i was so excited for the fight and it felt like a huge letdown for me. Its moves feel so clunky for me and the use of its webs and spiderlings never really felt dynamic and amazing. For me its just a punching bag that i have to clean of its webs cause nobody wanted to use it for a long time. Pyre-kadaki felt a little bit better and shoul have been Rakna-Kadaki from the start. And i absolutely hate pukei-pukei in all its variants xD. this chameleonlooking thing is simply no freaking BIRDwyvern and should join the raptors.
the fight against namielle easy describt:
"It like to fight a Toaster in the bathtub."
but i really love the fight against it.
Namielle is my #1 no contest.
I hope Great Jaggi is on this list
No Red Khezu? No B. Gravios? No G. Plessy? No Cephadrome? What kinda list is this?
Your Video descriptions become worse with every video. I mean i know a video description works simular like video title when it comes to searching videos, but come on.
This is all cuz Josh called u out for not having ur top 10 on stand by. Isn’t it?
Based list
MH mechanics are fine, people are just impatient, so anything that requires more than just mashing buttons with a group of 4 gets people annoyed.
I thought Duramboros was a ram (the horns).
Cotton said 3 diferent real life animals are some of his favorites, now im curious. Whats Cotton's favorite real life animals?😂
if they expect to sell millions they have to bring monster magnet back
I expected dodogama to be on this list
I want grievous/basarios vs bazel
I'm boring. My favorite is Tigrex.
Namielle and Coral Pukei-Pukei. 7.8/10, too much water. (someone pls get the reference)
Duramboros Is just a monster embodyment of Hammer user
I love Gammoth
Zinogre and gore magala are the best
No dodogama? I'm outraged
If pukei pukei aint there I don't want it.
I can agree with you *SHE* is actually really cool *HER* ability to use those oval shaped scales as explosives is awesome 1:20
Bazelgeuse is not a "he"
Oh wow, ahtal ka didnt make it
hi :)
\
You called Zamtrios just a shark with legs. Did you not realize that hes literally a Sharkfrog??
I'll bet my left kidney I know what your No.1 is
I was right, please hand me your kidney Cotton🫴
