this song really stuck with me ever since it dropped and i tend to remember this moment everytime i listen to it. i respect Timbo's point at this time but i do feel even at times when the beat doesnt feel complete, the right artist can just take it to that whole other level. my main point tho from a producer standpoint, sure, Cole really did his thing on the song but the beat itself, mainly that hihat pattern really gives such a unique rhythm. atleast within the hiphop/rap demographic and to my knowledge , i dont think ive encountered such a pattern. i soon came to appreciate this song a lot more and the inspiration its given me, both lyrics and production-wise, which really is a hidden gem!
