I must say I'm "hooked" on the channel. Seeing your notifications, I know I'm off on another adventure with you guys. Vancouver Island certainly didn't disappoint. Stay safe and enjoy.
The opening with Kona was so cute! And as soon as I saw the ferry, I thought "I hope they get Nanaimo bars," and you did! Happy Vancouver Island exploring!
The Pros and Cons of why we watch your channel. I really appreciate all the time and energy that it takes to do the researching and the editing. I'm not a foodie but all of the descriptions you do of the food always makes me hungry. The filming of the scenery always makes me want to get on the road. You even made a 10 minute construction stop interesting. I like watching your silly goofy dancing and fighting the wind moves. Some outtakes might be fun. Now for the cons…….. Well can't think of any. Keep doing what you're doing we really enjoy it. Happy trails.
Thank you so much! We love filming and sharing a mix of activities and experiences. Anything after the ending screen is what we call our outtakes or bloopers. We share everything we have in that regard if it’s appropriate. Thank you so much and thanks for watching!
My Joanns and I honey mooned on the island in 2002. We had so much fun. Stayed a week at Long Beach in an awesome condo on the water by a lighthouse. Lots of wonderful memories. Thank you. My husband passed two years ago. I really want to go back.
I spent a lot of time exploring Vancouver Island while I was living in Parksville back in 2004. Your trip to Tofino brought back a lot of good memories of that time. Thank you.
Born and raised on Northern Vancouver Island. 🤗 If you ever get a chance, check out Malcom island, you ferry over from Port McNeil (20min ride) Go to - Bere Point Campsites- The whales (orcas) Actually Rub on these Beaches. It's a sight to see, if you can get there the right time of year! 🤍 🐾
We would love to come back and go more north than Campbell River. We loved everywhere we went on the island and up north seemed like a lot of fun. And we'll be adding Malcolm Island and Bere Point Campsites to our list! That sounds incredible! Thanks!
Vancouver Island is so beautiful!! We visited there on honeymoon--the western most destination on honeymoon--a trip by train across Canada by train from Toronto. Thanks for the return trip after many years!! Another wonderful video!!!
Always interesting to see our home from the perspective of other people visiting. We never take it for granted how fortunate we are to be born and raised here. Great video guys!
I love seeing everyone coming to the island and think tofino is the nicest place on the island but if you really wanna see open roads and beautiful beaches you need to head up island towards woss there is some amazing back country and wild life all over the place
Ya for sure. This was only our second visit to the island and we wanted to check out the major destinations. On our next visit we’ll get more into the backcountry. We’d love to check out Malcolm Island and some of the other inland towns like you mentioned. Thanks for the tip and thanks for watching!
Hi, new friends...from a new subbie. You have captured the very essence of Vancover Island. Although I live just over the water in Washington State and can visit Cypress and Fir trees outside my own door....there is yet another magic in Vancouver Island....especially where you followed literally in our footsteps. My handsome Prince and I have made many trips there.... I'm glad we didnt know our last trip to Tofino was to REALLY be our LAST trip due to age, health and inability to travel.... Thanks for sharing with us. I'm looking forward to your whole trip. *Recliner Babe*
So cool that you're touring Vancouver Island! I visited it several times in the 1980s and 1990s. A friend and I camped for free at a beachfront property that was for sale in Tofino. When the tide was out we saw a weathered totem pole half buried in the sand as well as a VW bug? buried upside down with its wheels exposed. We saw a sunflower starfish washed up on shore. We shared our campsite with a snake too. I also solo camped years later at Little Qualicum Falls campground and walked the same loop path you did. My boyfriend and I stayed at Hollyhock Resort on Cortes Island too and a chipmunk bounced on our tent's rainfly! It was fun to watch your latest episode as you toured Vancouver Island. The Sonoma Bacon Chips looked tasty. I just ate some Avocado chips as I watched your blog. Happy trails! Jenny Seattle, WA 🙂
Sounds like a crazy fun trip! Our trip there wasn’t that wild, but we still had a blast! We have some avocado chips in our hanger box as well! Thanks for watching!
I just caught your travel channel. Welcome to Vancouver Island. My husband and I live in Port McNeill which is about 4 hours north from Nanaimo. My mother-in-law lives in Nanaimo. Are you heading this way as it is gorgeous and so much more to see. Especially Telegraph Cove and whale watching.
So many parks! It's like to take 10 steps and "oh, there's another one." Not that I'm complaining, they're all gorgeous. I definitely want to check out the island when I make it back to BC.
I just found your channel. I'm surprised and disapointed that you didn't check out some of the Gulf Islands. I enjoy watching people discover the paradise that I call home.
Wow!!! Vancouver Island is gorgeous!! All those powerful waterfalls!! And those Nanaimo Bars!! Btw, I loved Kona’s blep in the video! And Kathryn, please rap for us in a future video!!!!!
The island is super gorgeous! We had to look up what a blep is so thank you for opening our eyes to a new word! We’ll see where we can fit in a few rap lines soon! 🤪
I live on Van island….in Parksville, just north of Nanaimo. Thanks for reminding me how I take it all for granted. I think it’s just about the best place on earth to live. I’m twenty minutes from Englishman river falls, and five minutes from Parksville beach. It rains a lot, but that’s ok. Everything is lush and green here.
This was great! I knew nothing about Vancouver Island so I really enjoyed this video and I am looking forward to the future ones! My sister-in-law’s niece (from husband’s side) lives on Vancouver Island so now I get to see where she lives and why she and her family moved there! Well, another place to add to my list!! :). :). :)
Just realized that we have never been to anywhere else on the island besides Victoria and the gardens! What a beautiful place! That's now on my bucket list!
How beautiful is that place? My gosh! Even with all the waterfalls, I think my favorite shot was on the shore of Cameron Lake. Y’all just make me want to retire 19 months early and hit the road! Great video. Have fun! 👍
Late to the party as I've been island adventuring too, but my goodness, this video has cemented my need to return to this gorgeous area of the world. When I visited Vancouver Island all those years ago, our budget was super tight so car rental was out of the question and we only visited Victoria and Tofino as these were well served by public transport. We took the clipper over to Victoria from Seattle like you did on your last visit - I remember being so torn about the cost, but it was going to give a whole extra day if we didn't faff with the greyhound to Vancouver and then ferry across. To get back, we took a bus from Tofino to Vancouver that included the ferry cost so skipped absolutely everything you showed me in this video, and the FOMO is very real right now (if you change fear to feeling 🤣)! You guys did well to capture the bear, even if it was just a small snippet - your reactions were just as good as I know I'd be reacting in exactly the same way!! I shockingly never ate a Nanimo bar the whole year I lived in Canada, so that alone is a reason to return as they look amazing! I think the highlights of this were the Englishman River Falls and the little Qualicum Falls, but the lighthouse loop was gorgeous too! I'm so pleased you're back in areas I've been to as I love trips down memory lane thanks to you guys! ❤
Oh ya you’ve gotta get back to Vancouver Island when you can! It deserves a proper exploration! And yes the Nanaimo bar alone is worth the visit! The waterfalls were 😍😍
ahh! The joy is palpable. I love ferry rides as much as you all. We did Madeline Island in Wisconsin last year and took our car across, with our dog as well! So fun. What a gorgeous area...Already my head is spinning about a visit there. Looking forward to more!
I was so excited to see this video because I have a relative living on Gabriola Island one half hour by ferry from Nanimo. These are places they often refer to and talk about.
Gorgeous! I have only seen such a small portion of the Island!!! Didn't realize I was missing so much. I am loving your videos guys. Keep up the great work!
Love your video! I'm born and raised on Vancouver Island and have never left. You did a beautiful job glamorizeing the bc ferry experience! Great locations you show cased. I'm so glad you tried our Nanaimo bar! Nanaimo is my hometown and I think everyone needs to try a Nanaimo bar!
Wow! Vancouver Island is beautiful!! I had no idea! When you said you paid $250 to ferry over, I was shocked. That's a lot. However, once I saw all the waterfalls and cute towns.... worth it! I want to plan a trip there now😅
I'm not sure how I got to watching travel videos from my home town/s, but you did a nice job, glad you enjoyed the area. I will say, Qualicum Beach gets overlooked a lot, but it's a sweet, picturesque town, much nicer than Nanaimo and Parksville 😉 Also I'll add a little note relating to the Nanaimo bars, if anyone reads or cares. There are many cafes and grocery stores that sell them that are made in a factory and are all purchased from the same supplier from Vancouver. If you're looking for an authentic Nanaimo bar that is house-made, you'll need to ask the place you're in. I can tell right away whether or not they are from that supplier just by looking at them. Bocca definitely makes their own. There is a Nanaimo bar "crawl" that you can find online, in which you will find participating restaurants and cafes that make a version of their own. Some are cocktails, ice cream, cupcakes, etc.
You Guys are Awesome, I would Love to explore Vancouver Island, It is SOOO beautiful up there, I just told my wife I promise I will take you there, Good Luck on your travels.
What a beautiful island! The ferry ride looked like a lot of fun (I loved our ferry ride to Bainbridge Island)! Those water falls, Kona shots and Nanaimo bars 😋! I cannot wait to watch more Vancouver Island videos! Safe travels 😘❤️❤️❤️🐶🥰
Your vlogs are so interesting. We have stayed on Vancouver island in Parksville and we loved it. Next time, we want to drive over to Tofino. I am looking forward to your Alaskan adventure.
You guys travel so well! Nanaimo bars, hiking, lunch with views of the water, and the ferry ride looked amazing! Didn’t even know Vancouver Island was a place, but now it’s on our bucket list!
Up until that backup due to construction, I was thinking how nice it was to have the ferry & the island pretty much to yourselves! Such splendid visuals! I could almost inhale the outdoors filled with the scent of pine & all that cool, fresh air!🌲Living the dream! 💚Sweet hugs to Kona.🥰
Ya know even though we were there on a Canadian holiday weekend we didn’t notice many people in most places we went! We were confused, but pleasantly surprised! It’s so gorgeous on Vancouver Island and it’s one of our favorite places!
Just came back from a camping trip, saw the red little dot notification, yeahhhh! I love the way you guys produce these videos, always with so much positive attitude and energy, I see you guys appreciate the good or the bad, because it is a real journey. Through your lenses I get to see the familiar and unfamiliar places, different kinds of food, oh, and coffee ☕️! Congratulations on 6K more subscribers in just a few weeks. Keep doing what you are doing, you are making a big impact on me and believe me you are making a big impact on a lot of people!
Your vlogs are really vibrant. I recognize your efforts in showing us all about, the hard work. made in editing and so on. The magnific landscapes are breathtaking, the forests, waterfalls are astonishing. We all watch your videos smiling 🤩🌲🌷
So happy Kona was able to join you! Thank you for bringing us to a part of the world we will never visit! The falls were incredible!! Always love the bloops! Great video guys! ~Cara 💕
Vancouver Island has so much beauty. The waterfalls are gorgeous. Can you share with me the brand name and setup you use for the pour over coffee? I am switching from pods to pour over. Thanks.
For coffee we just use a cheap plastic pour over cone off Amazon. We wish we still had our Chemex though. That's what we would have if we had our choice. Maybe we'll get another one for Christmas!
Hello Adventurers😊😊😊, ABSOLUTELY OUTSTANDING👍👍👍! The ferry ride was awesome and the beautiful terrain and those HUGE TREES. and such a SPECTACULAR drive across the island. OUTSTANDING👍👍👍! I can't wait to see what's next...Victoria? Hmmm...
As a once traveling musician and lover of exploration, my many experiences in that Beautiful part of the world are interesting... For some strange reason I "feel" great anxiety anywhere North of the Rouge River - Other than the San Juan Islands, it happens again and again.?. Love your productions
Stunningly beautiful! Waterfalls, lighthouses and a bear - does it get any better than that? Unique and cute were the same words I was using to describe that lighthouse!😂
Wow what an amazingly beautiful area with so many stops along the way. Loved the yawning Kona and "I smell bacon". It all makes us want to go there. Thanks for sharing.
Dang. I recently moved to Vancouver and didn’t know the island looked like this. Y’all are true adventurers. Feel like I’m missing out lol thanks for the video.
I am not really one for coconut but that dessert with the chocolate ganache on top makes me change my mind that maybe I should try thank you so much for all your videos so much fun to watch
Bocca makes great Nanaimo bars so you were good. The absolute best are homemade ones! You guys are now on Island time, enjoy! Island time is take it easy and go slow time ❤️
Hi A+K: Just a vacation suggestion... You really need to check out Banff NP / Jasper NP / Kootenay NP / Glacier NP / Yoho NP / Mt. Revelstoke NP / Mt. Robson Provincial Park (Alberta, Canada - 2 hours west of Calgary). This is our favorite vacation spot - Lake Louise. There's a Fairmont with plenty of great hikes...best one is Plains of Six Glacier. Also, in Jasper, there Maligne Lake that take you to Spirit Island. We've been there several times already. Planning to go there again next year. Best time to go for us is second half of May (before tourist season) or after August (don't get the scenic snow on the mountains as much). Going in May, the ice and snow may still be on the grounds; therefore, some places are still not open....but you don't have so much foreign visitors offloading from tourist buses. You are in between large mountains and big / long rivers.. It's totally awesome place...you will love it. Sincerely, Sheila & Tom
Hey Tom! Thanks for the suggestions! We've actually been to Banff and drove the Ice Fields Parkway. We went just before we started our UA-cam channel. It's an amazing place! We hiked the Plain of Six Glaciers to the tea house, visited Peyto Lake, Moraine Lake, and a few other areas there. We had planned to go to Banff and Jasper on our way down from Alaska, but with getting COVID we had to crunch our schedule and for a variety of reasons that was unfortunately what got cut. We haven't been to the other parks you mentioned, but they are definitely on our bucket list! Thanks again!
Another gem - thank you! Falls were gorgeous! LOVE Kona's tongue at 7:33 btw. :) Also, those Nanaimo Bars looks FABULOUS! Gonna find a recipe and try to make a batch. Glad to see some more dancing at the end. And the singing - top notch!
I continue to look forward to each and every video on your adventure to Alaska. They are always fresh, positive and fun and so well produced. I love seeing Kona in your videos. Kona has to be just about the most traveled dog I have ever heard of. Not sure how many miles and states Kona has traveled too, but I am sure an amazing number and now a second country Canada!! Looking forward to all your videos to come.

We live in Nanaimo & this is one of the best Island videos I have seen.
Thank you! That means a lot coming from a local!
I must say I'm "hooked" on the channel. Seeing your notifications, I know I'm off on another adventure with you guys. Vancouver Island certainly didn't disappoint. Stay safe and enjoy.
Wahoo! Thanks for watching!
The opening with Kona was so cute! And as soon as I saw the ferry, I thought "I hope they get Nanaimo bars," and you did! Happy Vancouver Island exploring!
Oh you HAVE to get Nanaimo bars! We had a fantastic time on the island! Kona loved it too!
Thank you for doing such a beautiful job of showing our beautiful Island home!
Thank you and thanks for watching!
Can I just say “ Ditto!” to your comment except the part about not being a foodie. I am such a fan of them & this vlog!💝
Thank you so much! We love filming and sharing a mix of activities and experiences. Anything after the ending screen is what we call our outtakes or bloopers. We share everything we have in that regard if it’s appropriate. Thank you so much and thanks for watching!
Thank you! We love sharing and learning about food! ☺️
Another ditto here. Fantastic scenery!
I’ve never seen a travel video dedicated to Vancouver island. Good job highlighting some quick hikes.
4 more to come! Thanks!
My Joanns and I honey mooned on the island in 2002. We had so much fun. Stayed a week at Long Beach in an awesome condo on the water by a lighthouse. Lots of wonderful memories. Thank you. My husband passed two years ago. I really want to go back.
We're sorry to hear of your loss! We're glad we could bring back happy memories and we hope you can go back! Thanks for watching, Donna!
I spent a lot of time exploring Vancouver Island while I was living in Parksville back in 2004. Your trip to Tofino brought back a lot of good memories of that time. Thank you.
We’re glad we could take you back!
Born and raised on Northern Vancouver Island. 🤗 If you ever get a chance, check out Malcom island, you ferry over from Port McNeil (20min ride)
Go to - Bere Point Campsites- The whales (orcas) Actually Rub on these Beaches.
Thanks!
Yeah, I got to see a dancing finale. “I’m on a boat.” Got me laughing out load Kathryn. You guys are so blessed to be living that life.
Lots of dancing to come! We love that silly song! We probably sing it to ourselves or whoever we're with on every boat we get on!
Beautiful pacific northwest!!!
Nanaimo is the most beautiful city on the Island and it always get overlooked.
Wow. Stunning. Another fab video, thanks for sharing, I can’t even imagine the height of some of those trees!
Thank you so much! Yes they were super duper tall! 🌲🌲
I was in Nanaimo this summer and did the exact tour. So lovely to see it all again
Vancouver Island is so beautiful!! We visited there on honeymoon--the western most destination on honeymoon--a trip by train across Canada by train from Toronto. Thanks for the return trip after many years!! Another wonderful video!!!
Oh we would love to do a train trip across Canada! Thanks for watching!
More green more water. Unique and especially beautiful.
Beautiful!
Always interesting to see our home from the perspective of other people visiting. We never take it for granted how fortunate we are to be born and raised here. Great video guys!

We’re glad we could share! Thank you and thanks for watching! ❤️💙
Your enthusiasm for seeing and experiencing new places is contagious!
We're glad you enjoyed the video! Thanks for watching!
@@AdventuresofAplusK I saw the avocado chips which prompted me to eat mine! Jenny
We unfortunately didn’t have time to go any further north than Campbell River on this trip. We will for sure visit the northern end next time!
From a Canadian, thank you for sharing your adventures.
Thanks for watching!
So many parks! It's like to take 10 steps and "oh, there's another one." Not that I'm complaining, they're all gorgeous. I definitely want to check out the island when I make it back to BC.

Hahaha she’s good at them! We’re still working on cutting some tracks!
I just found your channel. I'm surprised and disapointed that you didn't check out some of the Gulf Islands. I enjoy watching people discover the paradise that I call home.

It felt like that to us too!
Another great episode. Thanks

Cool. Looking forward to your adventures around Vancouver Island! Not very familiar with it so ready for your insights!
Hopefully we captured it well! Thanks, Jamie!
Just realized that we have never been to anywhere else on the island besides Victoria and the gardens! What a beautiful place! That's now on my bucket list!
Oh you gotta get back there! It’s amazing! We’re so excited to share the rest of these adventures!
How beautiful is that place? My gosh! Even with all the waterfalls, I think my favorite shot was on the shore of Cameron Lake. Y’all just make me want to retire 19 months early and hit the road! Great video. Have fun! 👍
The lakes were just as beautiful as the waterfalls!

We saw multiple! So cool! And ya that was a funky lighthouse!

I've been wanting to ferry to Vancouver island for years, when I get my 4x4. Thanks for making the video and showing the food and scenery.

The island was super 😍😍😍 The ferry rides are always a highlight! You would probably love the Nanaimo bars!

Looks like the Wind followed you!

Vancouver Island is one of our favorite places ever and is on our "maybe we'll live here one day" list! Thanks for watching!
Thanks for another fun video. Great job putting it altogether. 😀👍
Thanks, Lynn!
Loved the video can’t wait to go to Vancouver island in July!
You’re going to love it! Hopefully our videos can help your travels!
You guys travel so well! Nanaimo bars, hiking, lunch with views of the water, and the ferry ride looked amazing! Didn’t even know Vancouver Island was a place, but now it’s on our bucket list!
Oooooooh yaaaaa! Nanaimo bars are the good stuff! Van Island is definitely a bucket list place! You’ll see why even more in the next 4 videos!
12:56 That doesn't look like Frank the Tank. Frank is usually in the Kennedy Lake area. He's very worthy of his name.
We didn’t get the chance to ask the bear his name 😜
Up until that backup due to construction, I was thinking how nice it was to have the ferry & the island pretty much to yourselves! Such
splendid visuals!
Pleased to inform you all that that construction project is finally completed (well at least so that you can drive through)

This place looks beautiful! Hope you guys have fun and I’m getting great ideas for my retirement 😃
It was wonderful! There's lots to do there!
This is so fun. Beautiful scenery. 🌻😊🐕🇺🇸
It keeps getting better and better!
Great video. I have been to Victoria, but I never knew how many spectacular Provincial parks there are there. Makes me want to go back!
We were surprised how many amazing parks there were also!
Hmmm...
We love riding on the ferries! Always beautiful views and comfortable!
Vancouver Island has been a dream! Victoria is coming soon!
As a once traveling musician and lover of exploration, my many experiences in that Beautiful part of the world are interesting... For some strange reason I "feel" great anxiety anywhere North of the Rouge River - Other than the San Juan Islands, it happens again and again.?. Love your productions
Interesting! Hopefully our videos can ease your anxieties! Thanks for watching!
Welcome to the island. I hope you enjoy yourselves.
We did! Thank you!
Wow beautiful island I wish I'm Kona...
Kona is the most well travelled dog we know of! ☺️
Stunningly beautiful! Waterfalls, lighthouses and a bear - does it get any better than that? Unique and cute were the same words I was using to describe that lighthouse!😂
We don't know how it could've gotten any better either! It was a gorgeous trip!
When you stopped to have lunch, I laughed to myself because it looked like one of the locations for the early seasons of Alone!!!
😂 we need to watch that show
Wow what an amazingly beautiful area with so many stops along the way. Loved the yawning Kona and "I smell bacon". It all makes us want to go there. Thanks for sharing.
We can’t wait to share these adventures! They were a ton of fun to film and we hope we captured the beauty well! Thanks, Bob.
The coconut isn’t super over powering. It’s just enough to get a coconut taste and texture!
Thanks and thanks for watching!

Thank you so much, Sandra!
Bocca makes great Nanaimo bars so you were good. The absolute best are homemade ones! You guys are now on Island time, enjoy! Island time is take it easy and go slow time ❤️
They were super tasty! We'd love to make some homemade! Yum!
Hi A+K:
Just a vacation suggestion...
Sincerely,
Sheila & Tom
You gotta give the Nanaimo bars a try! They are awesome! The dancing is back! :)
Ukie is my favourite spot on the Island.
I continue to look forward to each and every video on your adventure
to Alaska.
That means a lot to us. Thank you! Kona has been to 30+ states and 2 countries! She’s a travel dog for sure!
Well done again. You guys are fast becoming our favorite travel Vloggers! Looking forward to your Alaskan journey.
Awesome! Thanks, Simon!
