AWESOME VIDEO!! I love when UA-camrs I follow go and explore where I grew up! The firewood thing is a more common thing around BC. All provincial parks have firewood for sale and it's very rare that they won't have any. Also, because of all the fire restrictions during the summer, some people bring propane fires instead.
Beautiful video!! Beautiful lakes and waterfalls - especially the last waterfall! Campsite is amazing! Really enjoying your videos! Thanks for sharing. Bless you.

Fried salmon. Never heard of it either but anxious to try it. May change our travel plans and leave early so we can add my bucket list item, Vancouver Island. Got my notes from watching your videos! 😍
Loved the video on Campbell River! I was able to explore along with you as I was born and raised on the island (live in Nanaimo) but haven’t seen a few of those places yet even though we are in the area every couple of weeks. The ferry that you saw in Campbell River goes to Quadra Island which is a 10 minute sailing. If you ever get a chance to go over there it is worth it! We have vacation property on the northern part of the island in Granite Bay which is pretty remote. If you do get a chance to visit Quadra island, I highly recommend Rebecca Spit as it is stunning with gorgeous views and there are so many beautiful hiking trails over there. Happy travels!
We’re so glad and thankful we could share and experience it! We would love to visit Quadra Island. It looked like a lot of fun and very beautiful. Hopefully one day! That’s nice you have some property out there!
Hey Aand K. Thanks for the Campbell River video. The west coast is truly a remarkable creation. I used to live in Campbell River in my teens. I miss the west coast. I will return to C.R. in June to visit family and friends. My cousin runs a fishing tour and has been doing it since he is 14. I am really looking forward to it. I usually go every year. I will also be going to Victoria as well. Thanks for all your videos. I saw a recent video of your favourite spots and I agree that Vancouver Island is my favourite. Sorry for my rambling on. Happy New Year.
Wow what a beautiful area 😍 loved the suspension bridge and waterfall. Can't believe that beach you had your coffee on. And your camp 🏕 for 22 a night was amazing. Adam cracked me up who needs an air guitar 🎸 when you have an air 🎣 fishing pole...hahaha 🤣. Can't wait for smore good times 😀

Hi! You spell your name the best way! 😊 Color us jealous! We'd move there if we could! We also have guides on our website that might be helpful for exploring the island! Thanks and thanks for watching, Kathryn!

I gain weight watching these 🤣 but seriously what an amazingly beautiful island! ❤️ As a longtime Oregon camper, those kickstarts are great for fires, that and a bag of tea light candles 🙌🏻
Haha! I tried everything I could think of to get the fire going. I think what I needed to do is chop the wet wood into smaller pieces. That might’ve helped, but I only have a dull hatchet. It was still fun and a good time!
Hi Kona I’m glad you and your humans are enjoying this beautiful island I get to call home 🐕 🌊🏔 My mom enjoys watching all the adventures of your humans too Ranger 🐾
as someone who lives in campbell river and doesn't get out much anymore this brought a tear to my eye because of all the memories I had in these locations
@@AdventuresofAplusK Meh I live in Willow Point at the south end over looking Quadra island 🏝️. I hope you had a chance to walk in Cape Scott at the north tip of the island with rock formations like found in Asia?
Love the videos about the island. Thanks for taking us along. It looks like a very interesting place to spend some time exploring everything. Until next time... Travel safe.
Your videos are amazing! I stumbled upon your UA-cam site when I was planning a two week trip to the National Parks in Utah (Zion, Bryce Canyon, Capitol reef, Canyonlands, and Arches) a few months ago and I subscribed and have been following ever since. I completed the trip with a friend in May and your videos were sooooo helpful!!! Now I’m looking forward to your future videos of your adventure in Canada and Alaska! Thanks!
Awesome! Thanks for watching and following along! It makes us really happy to hear that we are helpful! Make sure to check out our website as well for any future trips you have planned. We can be much more detailed and thorough on our written content! Thanks again!
Only seen three videos and I know your go to is Pork! Lol. Great Videos! I’ve been away from home (Nanaimo) for the last four months and these videos on my home have been a blessing! Have a sweet day you too! ❤
I'm hoping to do it before I leave here! I'm keeping my expectations low! haha I've fished only a handful of times and have never caught anything. So I'm keeping my expectations low so that if I don't catch anything I'll still have a good time! I have a feeling I'll catch a few though
That’s correct, they don’t celebrate Memorial Day. It was Victoria Day when we were there which is the weekend before the US Memorial Day. We were expecting places to be a lot busier! But thankfully they weren’t. Thanks for watching, Mindi!
Hello Adventurers😊😊😊, the kayaking ride was AWESOME with the beautiful mountains on both sides. I see y'all ate really good too. Adam, you didn't share me any of your crispy salmon and Kathryn, that pizza looked really good...and y'all didn't share any of that for me? Not Fair😣😣! This was an OUTSTANDING Video!
Hi there! Love your videos and sooo happy you are enjoying yourself. There is so much to do here in Campbell River and surrounding area. I have lived her for over 45 years. It was a great place to raise my kids and they all stayed. I also have 17 grandchildren here that have all started their careers here. Hope you get up to Mount Washington next time you are here. My daughter manages the two lodges up there. The sking and boarding is great. There is also night skiing. Lots to do up there in the summer too. Well I won't chat your ear off any more so have fun and be safe.❤
Wow that's fantastic! Campbell River would be an amazing place to grow up and have a family. We're not big into skiing, but we're hopeful to give it another go over the next few winters. It would be fun to check out those lodges your daughter works at! Thank you for commenting and thanks for watching!
Never thought of peanut butter cup Smores... I'll have to try that on my next trip into the wilds. As far as getting a campfire started with wet wood, a propane torch attachment that fits on the same tanks as your stove works wonders under those conditions. I keep one in my RV for just such occasions as it takes up very little space.
That propane torch would've come in handy big time! I think if I could have chopped the wood into smaller pieces that would've helped also! All I have is a dull hatchet, though. Oh well it made for a funny moment. Thanks, John!
Loved the video. Its Absolutely Beautiful there and the waterfalls are Beautiful.I have always dreamed of going to Alaska and i am with yall.Thank you for sharing your adventure with us.
I just had a camping adventure where I couldn’t get my fire going due to wet wood, humidity, and a wet fire pit. So happy we aren’t alone in the struggle 😂
Its funny that he referred to the suspension bridge as "wobbly and creeky" @2:06 when the City of Campbell River just built it only 7 years ago and spent over $700k on it lol
Thank you for another great video I finally caught up and watched every single video from the beginning all of them very enjoyable, can't wait to watch this whole video
Oh my word, the coffee shop seating area on the edge of the water was just stunning! Trying to work out a timeline, what with the snow on the mountains, but you said it's a holiday weekend so I want to guess it's the May Two-Four? I've had salmon shallow fried but never deep fat fried / breaded/battered, but after watching this video, I want to try it pretty badly! Red snapper over here is a pretty expensive so I can't imagine that ever coming from a fish and chip take-away. The Loveland Bay campsite was ridiculously beautiful, it felt like what brochures that persuade you to camp show 😍 So interesting to hear that in the US you can pick up firewood from grocery stores. We have a log burner in our living room and go to a garden centre to buy it in bulk as it's cheaper, but otherwise gas stations are good for all fuels including charcoal for BBQ's, firewood, kindling etc. I always love your videos, but I'm especially loving these ones in Canada!
The view from the coffee shop is pretty hard to beat! We were the weekend of the 21st of May. The fried salmon was super good! The red snapper too! I've been loving all the fish and chips lately. The campground was one of the nicest we've ever stayed at. We really wish we could've spent a few chill days there just kayaking and enjoying the campground. Firewood in the US is pretty easy to come by, but we had a tough time finding it in Campbell River. The campground had it, but it was just so dang wet. We are loving Canada too so we're glad that's coming through in the videos!
Highly recommend anyone watching, watch from your big screen, you truly will appreciate these beautiful hikes & the outstanding videography! Great job guys! ~Cara 😊
Reese's on s'mores sounds awesome 🤤 Any place with a suspension bridge looks like a fun place to go! We recently tried to go to the suspension bridge you guys also saw at Tettegouche state park in Minnesota but it had been mangled by flood waters and is currently closed! 😥 Safe travels!
@@mountainmanwannabe9495 it really is a beautiful place. Hopefully they can fully repair the bridge. We also really enjoyed Split Rock Lighthouse and Gooseberry Falls State Parks. Such a scenic area!
Cookies n crème and the super thin extra creamy Lindt are other favorites to try. I also enjoyed a mallow in between super thin ginger snaps.👌 My boys love melting (fast before they get drippy) starbursts. I love how people zip by us to CR. Keeping local beauty accessible to locals.😉👌
I really enjoy watching your videos. Thanks for all of your hard work! Stumbled upon your channel while doing some research on South Dakota. Now, I'm working my way through all of your great videos. I especially love the parts with Kona. We travel and camp with our two dogs so I am curious about the "Kona Cam". How is it working for you?
Hi! Thanks for watching! The Kona cam is a lot of fun to film. We just strap a go pro to her back. It doesn’t always stay on straight, but it provides some fun footage!
Our videos are normally released within a month of posting, usually 1-2 weeks. We don't share temperatures normally because it can be different for every trip. May 15th, 2022 can be completely different than May 15th, 2023, especially in that part of the world! We recommend googling "average temperatures in x destination) by month" for a ballpark figure and then keeping an eye on it the weeks leading up to the trip.
My Suspension Bridge List: Capilano, Royal Gorge, Brooklyn, Golden Gate, George Washington, San Francisco - Oakland and the bridge at HEB Camp in Leakey, TX. Gonna have to travel to Elk Falls some day to experience that one too. Very cool, A+K. Great video…I loved the two perspective cam shots. “One, Two, Three…Break!” Lol 🤙🏽🦭🍕
Islander here….yes VI is stunning. It’s a big playground. Just as an fyi cities like port hardy, port McNeil, Nanaimo, Victoria…. The list goes on are SATURATED with the addicted, homeless and mentally ill. Yes we all love the beauty but visit a reserve, visit the main roads in CR, travel downtown Victoria…. It’s pretty darn bad.
We’ve traveled all over the country and just about every town and city has this issue. It’s very unfortunate and sad to see. We wish there were more resources for people to get the help they need
Richard?!? Why young lady, thar's only one me. Ha! It was funny i was making a sandwich and kept hearing someone calling Richard, i kept yelling back: The doors open! Next time y'all ought to try salmon pizza topped with pineapples. Oh my, to die for. Having fun while your young, the way it should be done. Next week.
First off, I just have to say that I so look forward to your videos! They bring me peace and joy in the middle of my day, just watching the scenery and your adventures. Thank you! Dancing was great on the suspension bridge! Fried salmon? Never had that either! Just wait til you get that fresh salmon in Alaska, though, right? Also, I'm team pineapple on pizza. :) Those falls were stunning. And Buttle Lake looks amazing. About your inflatable kayak: Worth it over a standard kayak, even if you could store one in/on your van? Finally, I've never heard of the Reece's peanut butter cup on a Smore's. Will definitely have to try that! And I live about an hour from Hershey, PA. Have you been there yet? If not, put it on your list! :)
That makes us happy to hear! We're so glad we could be a bright spot in your week! Fried salmon was new for us too! I (Adam) can't wait for more salmon in Alaska! The inflatable kayak is great! We love using it! If space were no issue we'd rather have a regular kayak or canoe, but the inflatable is great because it packs down and we can store it easy. It's very easy to set up, then deflate, and stow away. Reese's on the s'mores is a game changer if you love Reese's! We drove through Hershey last year, but didn't have time to stop and explore. What we saw looked super cute and fun and we are excited to properly explore it one day! Thank you so much for watching!
All I seem to do is say how beautiful the places you explore are but I cannot lie! 😁 Campbell River was gorgeous…the falls, waters while kayaking, the suspension bridge…all just WOW! Kathryn, I have to agree with you…the pizza looked SO yummy! Although Adam’s fish looked good and I’m sure was good for a fish loving person! I would have eaten all those fries though! 😋 You two make me smile so big with your personalities and I just love to see my Konie Bear! 😘❤️❤️❤️🐶🥰
We're on gorgeous beauty overload right now! We've seen some of the most beautiful scenery in the world day after day! We had a ton of fun in Campbell River and the food was delicious too!
Just finishing a trip around Vancouver Island with the highlight being the salmon run in Campbell River - we were thrilled to see so many black bears right in our campground and along the river! We ate at Dockside (salmon and snapper basket was great!) and coffee at fogg duckers was also great! Thanks for the video to help us plan our trip!!
This was a beautiful vlog in every sense of the word! Vancouver island looks amazing! I like the way you're ok to get food from two different places when not in the mood for the same thing. Helen and I have done that already. Adam your fish and chips looked so good! Katherine's pizza looked really good as well minus the pineapple. Sorry I have to differ with you on that...Pineapple doesn't belong on pizza. 🍕 We'll see if that gets my comment a dislike. 😂 Always fun to see Kona having a good time... You guys are truly brilliant at researching your adventures, capturing them and telling beautiful stories! You will forever hold a special place in my heart.
Your comments are always the best, Brad! We had fun filming the two perspectives for the different foods! Kathryn said your commenting privileges have been revoked for that pineapple comment! 😂😂 jk!
Love the channel. My wife and I are planning an Alaskan trip for the summer of 2024. Would you consider please mentioning the costs of your food segments when you eat out? Thank you so much. Safe travels, God bless!
Hi! We don’t really mention costs because the cost of food is constantly changing and we don’t want to share inaccurate information for those visiting months or years later. You can almost always find the cost on the business’s website or by looking at recent photos of the menu on Google Reviews!
Just watched the video while on vacation myself in Colorado! Going and doing some of the things y’all did in CO! Vancouver Island looks like a beautiful place! Great job guys! Adam just wait to you get to Alaska for salmon hey maybe you can even catch your on there! They are huge!
Awesome! We hope you're having a great time! If you need more ideas of things to do check out our website (if you haven't already). We have a lot of guides for southwest Colorado. adventuresofaplusk.com/category/colorado I am so excited to fish! I don't know if I'll go for salmon as I don't think I have the right rod for it and you have to buy another stamp to legally fish for it, but I'm hopeful to catch lots of other fish! I'll definitely be eating some salmon though! 😋
Oh Katherine, I'm afraid salmon is one of the only fresh foods you can get in Alaska! (The other is berries). Hope you like pizza and burgers, because they've got those aplenty up there. It's not a foodie destination but the scenery more than makes up for it. Love the series, guys!
She’s warming up to salmon! Hopefully the berries will be in season before we have to leave! 🤞. We’ve got our eye on a few places, but you are correct the scenery will definitely be amazing!
Yeah here I find the gas stations usually have firewood as well as any rural road. The other thing depending where you are I usually just go right into the woods and get my own firewood. If you guys come back, I would say try ripple rock trail, and Menzies lookout. I absolutely love the campsites, trails and lakes on the sayward canoe route. No where on there is a bad place to call home for the night. Even with your van you can fit comfortably ❤️ good luck on the rest of your travels can't wait to see your adventures!
We were looking all over! We called a few gas stations and were told no. If we drove by one we looked outside, but maybe they keep it inside. Thanks for those tips on places to check out! We'll definitely be back and we want to check out this canoe route! Thanks for watching!
SO beautiful... hoping this trip is on our radar for next spring. Can you tell me what type of kayak you have? .. happy travels! Looking forward to "going with you" to Alaska..... oh, actually I see the name of the kayak. 😊
We hope you can get out there also! It's a bucket list island! It is the Intex Challenger K2 Kayak. We love it! It's easy to inflate and get on the water quick. It's also easy to deflate and stow away. It's great for calm lakes and rivers!
Just a suggestion for starting a campfire when the wood is damp…..pick up a self-lighting propane torch and a small bottle of propane, or two, from Canadian Tire or just about any hardware store. It helps to split the damp logs into smaller pieces or use dry kindling, then blast it with the flame. This method has worked for me many times.
The propane torch would have been really nice to have! I thought I needed to chop it up smaller, but I just have a dull hatchet. 😡. Thanks for the tips!
Great video. And thanks for making us laugh Kathryn. Pineapple on a pizza? No fish and chips? I have to warn you next time you are in our state (New Mexico). Green Chile. An egg on top of your enchilada. Ness Farms pinto beans. El Pinto Salsa. Frontier flour tortillas. A culinary nightmare or dream awaits depending on what you can handle. Haha! I tried everything I could think of to get the fire going. I think what I needed to do is chop the wet wood into smaller pieces. That might’ve helped, but I only have a dull hatchet. It was still fun and a good time!
Another great video filled with tasty food, beautiful places, and good times.
Thank you!
Hi Kona I’m glad you and your humans are enjoying this beautiful island I get to call home 🐕 🌊🏔
My mom enjoys watching all the adventures of your humans too Ranger 🐾
Kona is so happy to hear that! Thanks for watching our adventures and we’re a bit envious you get to live there! Thanks Ranger and mom!
as someone who lives in campbell river and doesn't get out much anymore this brought a tear to my eye because of all the memories I had in these locations
We're glad we could share!
Welcome to my home, best coffee shop in Campbell River is actually Island Grind on Dogwood and Hilchey lol. I hope you enjoyed yourself 😊
Looks like a nice coffee shop, but you can’t beat the view from Fogg Dukkers! We had a blast!
We’re thankful and happy to share our adventures! The island is a must visit!
Good 👍
Love when you guys make the best out of your situation with the smores ;))) Way to go! Safe travels...always enjoying following your journeys!
Nothing was stopping us from having smores lol!
Really enjoy watching y’all’s videos. Love the high quality videography!!
Thanks so much!
Wow that scenery is absolutely incredible! Looking forward to the fly fishing in Alaska that Adam alluded to.
I'm pumped also! Hopefully I won't get snagged in too many trees and brush! 😂. I'm looking to catch some Arctic Grayling and maybe some trout
@@AdventuresofAplusK dude, fresh trout straight from an Alaskan river to the grill…that would taste so good!
I'm hoping to do it before I leave here! I'm keeping my expectations low! haha I've fished only a handful of times and have never caught anything. So I'm keeping my expectations low so that if I don't catch anything I'll still have a good time! I have a feeling I'll catch a few though
@@AdventuresofAplusK I have faith!!!
Wow seeing that snow on the mountain and you guys wearing jackets when it’s 100 in Florida has me rethinking life.. fantastic vid friends
The Northwest is the place to be!
You guys are awesome & such an inspiration to us! Keep up the great work! 🤩
Thank you so much!
Maybe Memorial Day isn't a holiday in Canada? I loved this video. You guys are the best!
That’s correct, they don’t celebrate Memorial Day. It was Victoria Day when we were there which is the weekend before the US Memorial Day. We were expecting places to be a lot busier! But thankfully they weren’t. Thanks for watching, Mindi!
thanks for the vid. Are you coming back to Vancouver Island? I enjoyed your recent vlog back into canada.
Sorry we wolfed those meals down mighty fast! You could've called us Hoover Vacuums!
Now you guys will be going along places I'm probably never going to go, thanks for sharing your adventures. 🙂👍
We’re happy to share and thankful you watch!
There are more activities in the summer, biking, hiking some great trails and a zip line.
Looks like an amazing place. Glad the borders are opening back up
The whole island was amazing!
We're so happy and thankful we can share our adventures with you! Thank you for following along!
Thanks for showing us some more of Vancouver Island! It looks so beautiful there! Looking forward to some more!
We're excited to share more! Thanks!
I just had a camping adventure where I couldn’t get my fire going due to wet wood, humidity, and a wet fire pit. So happy we aren’t alone in the struggle 😂
It's so frustrating too! You just want to enjoy it and it's becomes a bunch of work. Grrrr haha
Such a gorgeous area. I don't think I'd get tired of living there.
Same here!
Loved the Kathryn and Adam Cam, so cute! That fish looked delectable!
It was fun to make!
Love it! What's the actual mountain range in that area? 🗻
I had to look that up as well and apparently it’s the Insular Mountains. Thanks!
You're killing me Smalls!!
This island is amazing!
It truly is!
Yaaayyy new vid. Hope Canada is treating y'all well!
Canada is amazing!
Reese’s on s’mores!!!😍😍😍 I just KNEW there was something I really liked about you two!
“Her name is Richard.” :) Good ole one-eyed Richard. :) Thst area is jaw-droppingly beautiful. Those waterfalls! Thanks!
more beautiful scenery!! Great vid as always
Thank you!
You’re the best, Justin! Those early videos are a bit cringy for us 🙈🙉🙊😂!
@@AdventuresofAplusK everybody has to start somewhere before you find your niche and they're still very enjoyable hahaha keep up the good work
Pineapple on pizza is my fav, have you try a pizza with corn as topping yet?
Yes we have and it is tasty too!
Yessss to pineapples on pizza!🍍🍕🍍
One of my favorite pizzas to get if I'm solo is BBQ sauce, cheese & pineapple.
Thanks for the video. A beautiful place. Loved the waterfalls and scenery . Looks like the food was delicious, especially the pizza.
The Campbell River area was a ton of fun! The food was very 😋
Highly recommend anyone watching, watch from your big screen, you truly will appreciate these beautiful hikes & the outstanding videography! Great job guys! ~Cara 😊
Woohoo! Thanks!
That's one of our more scenic State Parks along the North Shore. :(
Reese’s on s’mores is a game changer!
Oh no that’s a bummer! Hopefully they can get it fixed soon!
@@AdventuresofAplusK we'll have to give it a try. Agreed, hopefully a full repair is possible soon!
I also enjoyed a mallow in between super thin ginger snaps.👌
My boys love melting (fast before they get drippy) starbursts.
Would be nice to know the date and temperature while on your excursions.
Marshmallows work great as kindling after you light them on fire .
That's a solid list of suspension bridges! We had a lot of fun with the two perspectives!
Next week.
That made us LOL, Richard!
pineapple has no business being on a pizza.
That is so awesome! Glad y'all had a great trip! Thank you and thanks for watching!
It's awesome you came to the island! It's beautiful here, glad you enjoyed your stay!
Oh it’s such an amazing place! Thanks for watching!
Yo bad you didn’t spend more time in port Alberni.
Next time!
We have a lot of guides for southwest Colorado. adventuresofaplusk.com/category/colorado
I am so excited to fish!
Ohmysgosh! So glad We watched to the end to see you rap!! 🎶🎤 Drop it like it’s hawt! 🔥 🔥 🔥 and those burgers looked amazing! 🍔
hahahaha we'll try to work that in a little more! Drop it like it's haaawwttt!
Wow beautiful video
Thanks, Gary!

Heck yes pineapple on pizza 👍. No fish and chips this time!
All of that sounds super delicious! We’ll be sure to check it out next time!
@@AdventuresofAplusK You bet. And I am glad you have a great sense of humor. Safe travels you two.
