Slow living isn’t a trend for me. It's a lifestyle I have embraced for years; I learned it from my mom and grandma. We always just took our time to enjoy the beauty of the everyday. I’m a romantic at heart, with a very practical lifestyle approach “keep it simple.” I grew up on a farm, which furthered my love of simplicity and back to the basics mindset.
We moved six months ago to our cozy cottage, and we are in the process of fixing it up. I strive to make our home cozy and inviting no matter what stage of remodeling we are in. Making a home hygge and cozy is just a normal way of life for me, and I can’t imagine it any other way.

Hello and how I’ve missed your videos and sweet family. Wow. The littles grew this summer, too! Can’t wait for your kitchen reveal to see how all the hard work has come together. Yes, agree. “Make hay while the sunshines”. Life is different in a Northern state, for sure. It’s a different hustle! Grew up and raised my family along Lake Ontario in NY and now live in the Sebago Lakes region in Maine. The wattle fencing in the garden is awesome. Your daughter did a fantastic job weaving the garden bed wall!!! I'm new to this channel. Can anyone fill me in on her story? I thought she said in a recent video that she lived 65 mins from a lady in north east Washington but this video I think she said they live in the U.P. of Michigan? Also said they sold a 20 acre farm, but then it showed them gardening on a large plot of land?
I will have to do an update video soon on our journey, we have been moving and flipping home for several years. We are now in the UP of Michigan.
Do you mind me asking what thrift shop that was? It’s HUGE and has so much house ware compared to the ones by us mid state. I did ''not'' grow up in / nor was raised in a Hygge type environment, quite the opposite tbh w/ 2 parents who were, to say that least, both ""Triple"" A type personalities [professionals] ... Yes, they did their Best & we wanted for nothing, & we were very much loved etc but, to this day I have times in which I struggle to calm down, be a lil less Goal oriented (driven) & stop to Smell the Roses ~ that said, your videos are a Lovely, Gentle, Caring ''reminder'' to Me, to do just that & that it is ... achievable : ) so, Thank-you Abbey-Jo for sharing your life ~ Most Sincerely, Cindy : )

I did the same garden beds for vegetables as I have trouble bending over. We had ground bees take up a home in it, Not sure how to get them out with out digging it all up. I have been stung several times trying to harvest veggies. Any idea how to handle this?
