Not stockpiling- it’s building up your home store. Example: a few times a year butter will be on sale for $2.99- $3.99. When it is I buy 80 to 14o dollars of butter to put in my freezer. Becoming a buyer instead of a shopper getting things at the best price is so worth the effort! I buy less produce because of our garden. Then can, freeze, or dry it. It’s smart! And it’s what our parents, grandparents and all our ancestors did.
By the way, my husband and I will be helping out at the bishops storehouse in Snowflake. My husband does this now, I have to wait until my shoulder heals. The storehouse has a lot of dehydrated items for sale. Also, canned wheat, rice, beans…
It is strange how much lying is going on. Before becoming a Log Trucker I did OTR. The warehouses where packed full of product during the shortages. They only lowered the shipping rate. And when us truckers would check into these warehouses they had signs stating no pictures or video in the building and please leave your phone in the truck. There is plenty, it is all a game.
I've heard that before. I have a friend that is a million mile OTR trucker he mentioned what you are saying with certain products. Interesting to think about that side of it. Thanks for the comment.
I just bought a 6 quart Dutch oven. You can cook almost anything in a Dutch oven. I also bought a portable woodstove as part of my outdoor kitchen. I had 3 cords of wood brought in and stored between 2 trees. I have another 2 cords stored in the chicken run. I raise Chickens and Quail for the eggs. I am as prepared as I can be but it does not mean I am ready for SHTF. Almost everyone is not ready for this except people who can afford bunkers and even they are not ready emotionally for what is to come. Good luck everyone, slog through this crap and come out stronger on the other side.
Dutch ovens are awesome! We have a couple ourselves. So are woodstoves. Sounds like you are doing the right stuff. Keep it up and stay safe! Thank you for your comment, I appreciate it.
My dad used to preach when I was growing up in the 70s and stockpile food and supplies because the bomb never knew why you were so excited and crazy about all of it. Now I understand worse than ever look at the world around us.
Sometimes it seems we are right on the edge of something happening that we need to be ready for. So much going on here and around the world. People are going nuts it seems. Thank you for your input, I appreciate it. Have a great day!
Very important question to ask yourself when you get really old and you don’t have the strength or the will to chop your own wood to shoot your own game to butcher your own food. Who’s gonna be there for you when your marbles fall out and you can’t remember yesterday today What are you gonna do? What are you gonna Who are you going to turn to? In the wild, the slow, the weak, the old and tired get eaten ALIVE!. Are you mother nature equal For how long? U2 will come to a point in your life when you just can’t do it anymore and you’ll have to rely on other people not self sufficiency…… but sounds great doesn’t it, when your young
I need to learn how to be completely off the grid no electricity from Edison gas company self-sufficient in that respect and I’m truly free. Oh wait a minute property taxes.
People are paying an average of 10,000 more a year just for normal expenses, that can have a huge impact on a lot of people especially the poor. So for a lot of people we are and have been in a type of recession since 2021. I get your point though, if the media doesn't say it then people say it's not happening. Don't forget, we hit every marker that would be considered a recession in 2022 but the current administration redefined what it is.
Okay what’s homestead version of reusable toilet paper. Or Trump throwing toliet paper rolls to the citizens of USA Puerto Rico aftermath of hurricane flood

You gotta have a greenhouse, bigger, small to keep out the critters and the temperature swings winter summer in order to produce anything

I feel like I’m being robbed every time I go out to eat grocery shopping or buy anything anymore
