- This may be the funniest scene ever filmed- from one of the greatest musicals ever produced- with some unlikely vocal performers.

"Gonna paint a wagon, gonna paint it fine. Gonna used oil based paint cause the wood is PINE!"
PooooonderOooosa Pine
Ooooooo-ooooooooooo
I was thinking this and it was the first comment! 😂😁
Wait wait! Here comes Lee Marvin. Thank God! He's always drunk and violent.
“What the hell is going on I’m my town!?”
@@daimyo_Ikigai We're just painting this wagon, you got a problem with that!?
SweetDick Willie “As a matter of fact I do... You missed a spot.”
Did you use an oil based paint
AlexA1591 beacuse the wood is pine?
I'm seeing a distinct lack of actual wagon-painting.
They're waiting for a shipment of oil-based paint.
becasue the wood is pine@@kingbeauregard
Our whole world is lies.
The joy of coming here expecting to quote a Simpson reference and seeing that already the top five comments are only that!
Who knew Lee Marvin could do such marvelous splits?
He's dreamy
Simpsons brought me here too.

@@EmployeeJoe630 I was born before Simpsons aired. What does Simpsons have to do with Paint Your Wagon?
Hey! That's a pretty sorry looking wagon you got there, mister.

"Why aren't they killing each other?"
They're*
@@john-evanbear8783 yeah, their guns are right there!
Launching the corpse out of the grave is one of the great movie sight gags of all times! It's right up there with Jimmy Durante kicking the bucket in the opening scene of "It's a Mad, Mad, Mad Mad World!"
Are they dead they better be because iam gonna bury them
Both are fantastic scenes
“Throw him out” 😂
One of the greatest gems of movie-making👏👍👍.
My grandfather loved this movie and I used to watch it with him... I miss him so much. ❤

@@Igarappappa ❤️ thank you
I'm in my 60s and this movie has been in my top 5 favorites most of my life. And I don't ordinarily like musicals.
I agree. One of funniest scenes ever in movies. I watch this film about once a year.
at 37 seconds in it turned into Evil Dead suddenly. This is quite the genre bender
Gracias a dios ahí esta lee Marvin, ese siempre esta ebrio y mata a todos
Tu vieja carreta, pintaré también, y como de pino es... quedará muy bien!!
Homer "(Scream) They're singing! They're singing, Marge. Why aren't they killing each other?"
I came here from the Simpsons 😂
We’re just painting this wagon. You gotta problem with that?
As a matter of fact I do... You missed a spot.

“OH GOD. We pass unto you. The body and soul. Of this nameless peckerhead”
LOL one of my favorite movie lines ever
'Horse doctor. But bones is bones. Also Blacksmith.'
That line also makes me laugh.
Finished watching the entire movie for the first time, and searched out this clip for that hilarious eulogy.
" HELLOOO!!!?" "IS.. THEY.. DEAD?"......THEY.. BETTER BE....CAUSE... I'M GONNA BURY 'EM!"
One of the best lines in the movie. That and " dig now and hit him later"
I forgot, " where is hell, hello is in hello" Oh HELL they are to many great lines.
Hello parson, welcome to Hell! (Hands him a bottle of whiskey)
John Bango I love that line in the movie
Do you think everything that comes from the ground should be turned into liquor?...when at all possible, yes
4:32 Nobody gonna talk about how the body prop hit the camera?
This is a real movie? I thought it was just a Simpsons joke hahahaha
Paramount, PLEASE Re-release this GEM on BLURAY.
I saw this movie when it came out in 1969. I was 14 years old and loved the film so much I bought the album. I loved the scene where Been corrupted young Horton in the cat house 😀. The whole movie was a great adventure and let a sheltered young man in the south like me see the other side of life. I was never wild and crazy but that does not mean I didn't want to be 😀.
Finally, from another good movie, musical. And it was good!
"Pull him up!"
FWOOM!
😂😂😂
I would honestly rather watch this 50 year old classic than any of the new crap movies offered today! Oh.. "Where I'm going I don't know, when I'll be there I don't care, all I know is I am on my way!" That has been stuck in my head today. About to have it put on back of my RV.
My top 10 fav western after once upon a time in west. Watch at least once a week too unwind and have a laff love Lee Marvin and Clint Eastwood in it
Love this musical funny ppl
it was the last ever film in our local cinema before it was closed and used for store house for airline packages brings back memories?
One of the Best Movies ever made, with a couple of magnificent songs. It is the story of Silicon Valley, the story of California, the story of the West, the story of America!. It shows the difference in thinking among men. Am I Lee Marvin, or am I Clint Eastwood? In my younger days I was definitely Lee Marvin. I was Born Under a Wandering Star. Paint your Wagon and come along. How many companies were found by an accident and caused a gold rush?
And if you ever lived in the West, you know the wind. You know Mariah.
The song Mariah has a double-meaning. On one hand, it's about the wind taking you places. But on the other hand, it's also about the loneliness that accompanies such a lifestyle. All you have is the wind.
I first saw this movie in about 1988 when I was 14. Thought he was a comedian. Never really did as well in comedy after that. But still amazing!!!!
Oh my God. This film looks brilliant. I can't believe I've never seen it.
It is brilliant - very funny, irreverent, good music, great characters - you'll really enjoy it.
I joined the clampers 20 years ago, and this movie best describes them ... LoL
Same. I've always passed on this movie, but after watching this I think I'll go find a copy and watch the whole thing.
It's one of only two live action musicals I've ever liked, the other being Fiddler on the Roof. Generally, I detest musicals.
A considerable number of those waggons appear to be unpainted. I sure hope somebody got fired for that blunder.
In December 1969 the movie paint your wagon was shown the movie theater in the Ohio State reformatory for men in Mansfield Ohio nearly 5,000 minutes of prison seen the movie and enjoyed it greatly.
Every actor is a star who experiences two lives the one he lives and the one he plays as an actor so Lee Marvin brings back memories for elderly people so too does stars such as Clint Eastwood a man to be proud of just like Lee Marvin.
I've stumbled into another timeline
Best musical comedy!
53 old love it still matty!!
How the hen stayed inside his coat il never no
this is a funny movie!!!
This is the only musical my husband likes! 😆
Their Singing, their signing marge why aren't they killing each other
The Simpson's did it!
my dad laughed at this bring him up boys after spotting the gold bwahahaha
This movie introduced me to Lee Marvin and Clint Eastwood. I’d never heard of them before I saw this.
I remembered Lee Marvin from some of the war movies he made. He was a real badass actor.
Lee Marvin was great ...nuff said
set the timer at 2:35 , funny as hell , if you never seen this movie,,,,,why ?
it is one of the great parts of the movie ty love watching the part
My favorite part of the opening song is the part that goes "rrhrhghghrhrhrmrmrhrghgrhrrh waaaaaaayyyyyy"
Ha ! Ha ! Ha ! I can't believe the way the dead jumps out of the grave ! :-))))
Violent?..lol.. I don't know what movie you're watching!!!
Iv never actuly seen this movie but i feel like its compleatly ruined because of the simpsons joke XD

That chicken should’ve got best supporting actor or actress!
THIS IS A REAL MOVIE??? I always thought The Simpsons were making fun of westerns by creating a silly film about painting a wagon! IT´S REAL?!?!?! ;his mind explodes, painting the wagon with brain red;
Very underrated movie.......
*Yep!*
The yellow peril, TikTok.
Yes it's silly but I love this movie!
They just launce that dudes body at the camera and did a euology just turn into a gold digging operation?
From a time when Hollywood knew what they were doing.
Good recreations
To take him and to keep him. I STAKE THIS CLAIM FOR ME AND MY NEW PARTNER OR WHATEVER THE HELL HIS NAME IS! Forever and ever, amen. Pull him up. BOING!
GOT A DREAM BOY GOT A SONG!!!!!

I think I know precisely what I mean
When I say it's a shpadoinkle day! 🐎
My Favorite Musical
The only time the movie was weirder than the Simpsons parody.
January 23th, 1848 - California Gold Rush: James W. Marshall finds gold at Sutter's Mill near Sacramento.
There is a state park at Coloma, where Marshal found gold in the American River. I's worth the trip if you're in the Sacramento area. BTW I love Yosemite Sam, my favorite cartoon character.
Anyone here from The Simpsons 😁
He did all the digging
It's interesting that it's still categorized as a comedy, because when you think of the underlying themes in the movie, it's kind of a tragedy too. They migrate to places to be free of law and order, as America is gradually becoming a nation of laws. Then they get caught up in the gold rush, and build their town. But then the gold veins quickly dry up, and the town is destroyed, forcing them to move onto an unknown future as the number of 'uncivilized' lands is also dwindling. All while Lee Marvin's character is dealing with severe depression.
Sounds like Disney at the beginning
So prepare yourself for the bloody mayhem and unholy carnage of Joshua Logan’s Paint Your Wagon!
Never seen this before...as soon as I get back I'm gonna watch it:)It's gotta be funnier than UA-cam trying to charge me to watch a movie that's over 50 years old...
It's a great movie. Happens to be one of my top 10. Lee Marvin was as perfect for this role as Marlon Brando was for the Godfather and Al Pacino was for Scarface. And Lee Marvin was one tough dude in real life, and a US Marine. They don't make 'em like him and Clint Eastwood anymore. Not even close.
It's a musical. Lee Marvin and Clint both sing.
I just found out this was real from The Simpsons!
Here's the thing I learned about The Simpsons. If they parody something or portray something in that show, chances are there's a real life counterpart to it.
What color?😮

They don’t make them like that anymore! So much fun 🌹❣
Homer and Bart disliked this video
This was the first Clint Eastwood movie I ever saw and always thought of Eastwood as more Partner than Dirty Harry forever.
Oh.... but he and Lee Marvin had no business singing.....
It was my first Clint Eastwood movie, too. Turns out, he had already made The Good, The Bad and the Ugly about two years before this.
Looking for the full movie is this it??????

Anybody who needed the Simpsons to know about this film can go pound sand.
Not only did I need the Simpsons to know about this movie, I also needed Google to find out what “go pound sand” meant.
Wow! I gotta see this movie 🎬

That's a sorry looking wagon.

Does anybody know where this opening shot was done? CA or Oregon?
Oregon
Mexico.
Antarctica
The TRUTH is the wagon train scene was shot at Frenchman's Flats in Holcomb Valley California. Clint Eastwood suggested it after the scene was rained out several times, Where the scene with Lee Marvin, his mule and the dead farmer were shot somewhere else. Holcomb Valley doesn't have a stream of that size. Holcomb Valley is the site of one of the biggest gold rushes from the 1880's. It was a genuinely wild town, the old "Hangman's Tree' used to be a famous site and remnants of the old town stood until the 1970's.
they dont make good movies Like that no more
Holy crap!!! This is real, i thought the Simpsons made it up.
this is the worst western ever made.
ah well, it could be worse. It could be The Emoji Movie.
how do you say the german part?
