    75% of the time when I take an order out of my zone it gives me a really high paying order taking me back lol it's so crazy to see all the different experiences honestly, what works for people what doesn't, the best advice I can give is never stress this is supposed to be a very low stress job no boss all that so that is most certainly the best part of the job

    • @yofasassburgers5
      @yofasassburgers5 7 місяців тому +3

      Idk about low stress. I've been threatened by random food employees for asking about my order. I've gotten flat tires. I've almost been hit by drunk drivers on several occasions. Yeah you can pick your own hours but as a delivery person you are in more occupational danger than a police officer. Not to mention you're risking/using your own car...

    Despite what a lot of gig tubers like to tell you, there's nothing wrong with going back to W2 work. If you've tried everything you can think of, and it's just not hitting in your market, stop throwing good time after bad.

    I'm in a smaller town of like 18K people in the extremely north part of Wyoming. Everything is completely different in this market, and It's been hard to try and explain to newer dasher's what they need to be requiring for orders. See way to many of them ranting on social media about no-tippers and such. I hate to say it, but I'm awaiting for Tax Time to hit and make the majority of these newer dashers quit. I've already went to a W2 job for my primary income, was disappointed that gig work has had the decline it has in my market. I will still do doordash and Walmart Sparks in some of my down time, but it is nothing like it used to be. Dude, miles are miles. Time is time. Dollar to mile AND time are equally important.
    Dollars per hour. Come on. If your goal is $100 a day, are you really good with taking 10 hours to do it? No you aren't. Orders have the potential of taking 30 minutes each. This is why you don't take $4 orders Idgaf if it's 50 yards.
    If you driving too many miles you are simply driving your clunker into the ground faster or simply devaluing your nicer car for nothing it's not cash flow if it's negative period.
    now you can take some borderline distances but the AVERAGE must equal your minimum which should more than cover the 67 cents per driven mile. Well more because you want your time to be paid also

      Just remember: You arn in the Honeymoon Phase with them right now. In two months the honey moon it will be over and you will see what other drivers are complaining about. The newer drivers will start getting higher pay priority since you will no longer be like a new spouse to them etc. Then you will either take sorry paying orders to keep your top status or find out like many of us that the only way to really make a profit(which should be your goal) is to cherry pick and multi-app! This ain't a charity, Don't let them abuse you!

    I just noticed on my earnings the shop and pay orders have 2-3 dollar higher base pay. Activate that red card.

    The issue with my location is Distance to and back to the hot zones.. I have a lot of rural deliveries, therefore I always take that travel back to the area I want to be in. I do try my best to get to an area that will possibly get me an order on the way back but that is not always a guarantee. So your example of the 19 for 11 miles, I will take that. However the only time I will ever take the 3.00 is if im trying to keep my acceptance rate up.. This is a side job for me so the Dash anytime is important due to the fact that I only have certain times to do it. As usual Pedro, you are completely on point and its nice to see someone else in the same headspace. Keep up the good work sir.

      I've learned to look carefully at the map before accepting because I've had to go into bad areas too.
      But when those kids came out the front door excited for thier burgers... That puts a smile on my face and joy in my heart!
      I always have someone watching me on the app as well as Google too.

    Best thing is to keep a spreadsheet tracking your average hourly rate. When you have a 15/hr day you don’t feel so bad cause you know your average for the month/year is much higher and it all comes out in the wash.
    That’s the only thing that keeps me from losing my shit when I have a day that’s like 15-17/hr

    Thanks for the tips. I actually don't have a car, working on passing my driver's license so I can eventually get a car. I've been considering doing Doordash/Instacart/UberEats on the side with a full time job. I'm in the city (Massachusetts) so there are things like rush hours (I've seen this either riding Uber to work or getting on the train). My main goal is to save up extra so I can go into University and get my Master's in CS (if they approve me/allow me in since I have a non-tech degree).

    I'm now watching this but I saw Doordash Dairies posting a video on how to make money in 2024 and I didn't get halfway thru the video before making a comment, telling people to stop listening to him unless he's in your market and hours later I'm watching your video of you saying the same thing.
    This is why you're the only gig subscriber I'd listen to even though I know you're not in NYC. Keep up the good work and I appreciate you being upfront with us.

    I would say, depending on your market, I have noticed that if you can get your acceptance rate up enough and then get top dasher the orders that they give, you are good enough that you don’t even have to worry about watching on your mileage very much because they’re all very good and then you just have your acceptance rate stay up higher indefinitely

    • @patrickmaurer8002
      @patrickmaurer8002 8 місяців тому

      My current acceptance rate is 94percent... before I get the heat. I make 1.5 dollars a mile, usually 250-300 a day... My average order is 10-15 per order. The highest I saw my ar was 97 percent.. At that level, I was seeing only 15-20 per order...

    I live in the middle of no where on a market line where i have to drive to the east or west "city" to see the market pop up. It's awful. But there was this snow storm yesterday and the dash turned every order into a +$5 delivery. Generally our orders are all over are over 15 miles and under 6 dollars. Dash by hour is now available but i live on the state line where it pays 15 a hour or 7.50 depending on if i go left or right 5 miles.
