I first heard your story on Dr. Michael Lenz's podcast: Conquering Your Fibromyalgia. I'm still so incredibly inspired by your journey. You both are just incredible. Thank you! I hope one day to finally be where you are.
I can identify with the food addiction. Sugar, salt, and fat - I considered it the holy trinity. I’ve been a junk food vegan for several years. Just diagnosed with non symptomatic advanced cardiac disease, so I’m switching to an exclusive fruit, veg, whole grains, and legume diet. I MISS THE FAT AND SUGAR!!!!! I feel like my best friend just died and I’m in mourning. I know that this will pass in a few weeks. I’m pressing on no matter what. Eyes on the prize! 🥬🍇🥑🍋🥦🥕🍠🍎🍊🍍🥔🍒🌶🌽🥥🍓🥭🍌🍐
Yes, a new start can be difficult! We wish you all the best ❤ Does it help you when you see people who've been in a similar situation? An idea could also be to focus on all the wonderful foods that you CAN eat, instead of thinking about what you miss. Maybe you'll find some recipes you'll really love. There are even sugarfree and oilfree cakes made of fruits, legumes, whole grains... 😋
@@macbirdy9723 Yes, it did! I’ve phased out more of the refined foods by crowding them out with more greens, lots of fruit, more veggies and less grains. I’m about 70% there. My last scan showed a significant reduction in coronary artery disease and I’ve shed 10 pounds. Also titrated off allergy and depression meds. The physical work has been accompanied by my deepest emotional and spiritual healing too. It’s been a good year to be alive!
Excellent. You might want to change 400lb to "400 pound" in the title, otherwise this doesn't pop up in many searches. Also put "weight loss" in the title too. Thanks
I weighed over 400 pounds. That's when I quit weighing myself because my scale only went up to 400 pounds. I weighed myself on the freight scale at the warehouse where I worked. It was so humiliating and embarrassing. I ended up getting a Gastric Bypass surgery. I lost about 40 pounds and had a severe attack of gout that had me bedridden for over 6 weeks. By then I was in so much pain, felt sick and wasn't losing any weight. I too got into opioids but they quit working and I just slept all the time. Then I was watching television and Forks Over Knives was on Netflix I believe, I was sold! The next day started eating a Whole Foods Plant-Based diet and living the lifestyle. I am now 14 months Post op and have lost over 100 pounds. I am at 285 pounds now. My Doctor and Nutritionist weren't happy with my choice, so I fired them! I am doing great. As soon as I am down to 200 pounds, I am going to have knee replacement surgery. I have severe Osteoarthritis and my knee joints are bone on bone. So here hoping and praying, onward and upward!
Dear Roger, sounds like you had to go through a hard time :( It's great that you didn't give up and found a way that works for you. Good to read that you feel better already. All the best for you, you are on a good way! :)
I'm 5ft 6in weigh about a 270 and I am really hungry I eat by the clock which is breakfast lunch and dinner plus snacks should I eat three meals a day or should I just eat when I'm hungry? Trying to transition to a plant-based diet oh, thank you very much for any insight what did you
