    The Negroni Sour is the best variation (incl. the original) of Negroni I've ever had. It has the basic Negroni ingredients but also one egg white, freshly squeezed lemon juice and simple syrup. To die for!

      Assuming 1 oz each of the mains, do you do 1/2 lemon and 1/4 simple?

    • @miksologia
      @miksologia 2 роки тому +2

      @@baloneyandfunk5234 I do 1oz of everything. The recipe I originally saw had 1oz lemon and syrup and only 0.75oz of the mains.

    That sweet Vermouth is easily my favorite. I use it in everything, especially a Negroni.
    Keep up the great content too! I thoroughly enjoy watching!

    Nice recepies i think in the future ill try to get some maraschino or some triple sec in. Both should pair nicely with the Campari

    I make my Negronis 1:2:3 Campari to Cinzano to gin; I like bitter flavors, but I find that in a 1:1:1, the Campari just overwhelms the rest of the drink. A variation I make often in the summer uses the same 1:2:3, but with Aperol, Lillet blanc, and gin, with a lemon twist instead of orange. Either way, serve on a big rock.

      really all depends on the gin and the vermouth. I prefer latin vermouths over Italian/french. I like a traditional juniper (navy strength) forward gin opposed to contemporary style gin where the juniper sits on the back end of the profile. but ill go 1.25oz Gin, 1oz Vermouth, 1oz Campari

    Inspiring as always. Thanks. I've had sbagliatos, but the other two variations sounds excellent. Something to fill holliday evenings with. And your productions are a joy to watch as always.

    Spent a year in Naples Italy in the late 70s and have been drinking Negronis ever since. 44 year later I probably have consumed several hundred Negronis. Will try this

    Hi, I just started watching your channel and I love your videos! I never thought I liked the Negroni much until I tried the ratio of 2:Gin+1:Campari+1:Vermouth - for me, perfection. I was wondering if you had a recommendation for an online spirits retailer similar to Tipxy for Australia?

    Hey, here's my own invention that's kind of Negroni inspired:
    Highball glass filled with ice, then:
    Plymouth Gin/Cocchi Sweet Vermouth/Campari/Angostura Bitters/Orange Bitters/Fever Tree Italian Blood Orange
    50ml/50ml/25ml/2 dashes/3 dashes respectively then Fever Tree to top.
    Garnish with an orange slice.
    You can skip the Campari or double the Campari depending what kind of flavour you prefer.

  • @arnebachmann5450
    @arnebachmann5450 Рік тому

    Would want to add the Kula Negroni; its a good entrance in the world of negronis for thoose struggling to really get the Campari flavour. Its strawberry infused Campari and then Bianco Vermouth instead of sweet Vermouth.

    Hey Cara - is Tipsy aimed at our American friends or can we get booze shipped to us here in Melbourne? Am on the lookout for best online stores to get all those hard to find ingredients (for example been hunting for Suze whenever I go into a bottle shop!)

    • @BehindtheBar
      @BehindtheBar  2 роки тому +1

      I’m afraid it’s in the States! Try Nick’s Wine Merchants here - they have a pretty awesome range and ship Australia wide. Otherwise if you let me know where you are I can potentially suggest some independent bottle shops 😊

    This led me to the first Negroni I have ever really liked. 1.5 Oz Chimocos Anjeo, 1 Oz Antica formula, splash dolin dry vermouth, 3/4 Oz Campari, 2 dashes angorista bitters and lemon twist. Was awesome! Thanks for the idea's!

    I like my negroni 1:2:2 campari, vermouth and gin. I like the bitternes but I rather be an undertone rather than the lead singer. And if you never tried a negroni made with sherry rather than vermouth trie it, its delicious

  • @josephk5654

    My favorite person variation is to swap out the vermouth with amaro nonino. It gives a slightly boozier and floral cocktail.

    I do like a negroni and have recently been enlightened by a boulevardier. Thanks for the great variants here! Handy for the holidays. P.S., no one has ever called me a hipster (more a hipster’s granddad, I guess) but your arm tattoos are great!

    For those that are sbagliato fans, try the Kaitlyn Stewart created High & Dry - it’s a winner.
    1 oz Gin (London Dry Gin)
    1 oz Campari
    1 oz Elderflower Liqueur
    2 dashes Orange Blossom Water
    Prosecco Top Off
    Grapefruit Wedge Garnish

    I like the idea of these Negroni variants, as well as the classic, but the particular type of bitterness that Campari has does not sit well on my palate.

    You do not pronounce the g in sbagliato. It hurts. Other than that I adore you!

  • @Sol_Bull
    @Sol_Bull 2 роки тому +2

    Also I love how bartending now includes a BA degree in history. This shit is easy. The best bartenders I’ve ever had are simple and classic. I’ve been drinking a very long time. I’ve been making drinks a very long time. Keep things easy. It’s less about what you know more about the conversation and experience. I’m not saying a little lore is a bad thing, just feels pretentious sometimes. Long time subscriber. Well done.

  • @Nikiaf
    @Nikiaf 2 роки тому +1

    I prefer the sbagliato back before it got popular, the sole reason being that people actually made an effort to pronounce it properly before.

    • @BehindtheBar
      @BehindtheBar  2 роки тому

      To be fair I’ve always liked it (it actually had a mini resurgence amongst bartenders about 8 years ago, in Australia anyway) I’d just only ever heard it pronounced with a hard G and didn’t think to question it!

      @@BehindtheBar Update: Tried all 3. The old pal was my favorite. The rosita was good but nothing special. As for the negroni sbagliato, it was decent. I made a variation with a little bit of gin added and it really elevated the cocktail.
      As for the rosita, it was good but I will need to revisit it to give a proper review.
