- "I'm Still Seeing Breen" Created and Directed by Paul Marino
The Video Mod that wasn't a video mod. Paul Marino did such an amazing job creating this video or "Machinima" that it was licensed by MTV for inclusion the Video Mods show. I have up-rezzed it and restored it to a modern glorious HD from Paul's original source video that he gave MTV back in the early 2000's.
From Paul Marino:
"I guess working with MTV, UMG and Valve to get broadcast rights was the real win here. Even though MTV had an existing deal with the various labels to produce the VM music vids, this fell outside of that and required specific contracts for broadcast. It wasn't too difficult from my understanding, but needed negotiation.
Outside of that, it was pretty straightforward production -- I was simply leveraging the tools that Valve had recently released in a way that seemed very "music video"-like. The lipsync software in particular - FacePoser - was fairly easy to use. It did a text/WAV analysis to create the initial lipsync pass (I sung the song myself to get a clean vocal track 🙃) - though the facial rig wasn't really set up to do singing. Still, I made it work for what it could do. The rest are just sections from my progressive game saves - ones I felt captured the tone and spirit of the game.
Video was captured using FRAPS and edited in Vegas Video." - Фільми й анімація
Hater: "Gman will never be able to sing so cold by breaking benjamin hahaha"
Gman:
Breaking Benjamin was involved with 2 of the most famous FPS sequels that start with "H."
What's the other one
@@morshulinton4112Halo
halo, they created a song named "Blow Me Away" for Halo 2, it's a great song you should listen to it @@morshulinton4112
@@morshulinton4112Halo. An instrumental version of Blow Me Away plays in Halo 2, near the end of the level Gravemind.
Both have the letters HL2.
It's surreal to see GMan singing.
How I wish this show was still going with current gen games and music
imagine like doom guy singing red cold river
I want Balder’s Gate 3 and Cest la vie by Yung Gravy, bbno$ and Rich Brian
Geralt singing all my fellas
It's because of this music video that I'd play "So Cold" every time I get to the final level of Half Life 2. Just makes it even more epic!
😂😂😂 I’m happy im not the only one
Nice
This is awesome. We should bring this format back!
even with this upscales it would be cool to see it totally remade from the ground up with source filmmaker or heck even source 2
I appreciate the fact that it definitely was the Machinima version first before this MTV2 version, since so many for so long were saying the opposite. Really is cool to see an early moment of internet work show on TV from back then.
Big cheers to Paul on this one, nicely done bringing this version out to the public too in high quality.
i remeber trying to record this exact thing on VHS when it was "on the tv" bro wow
I get such a cool feeling from seeing all this action packed footage from one of my most favorite games of all time to a dark rock song. Really tells the mood of the game
This is burn in my core memory and I’m 31 years now
Relatable
how was this real holy shit
this is like that one in the virtual end video but with a budget
Except In the Virtual End is as great as this.
Before we started with one, crowded streets got cleared away one by one.
Imagine gman in epic rap battles of history
After the whole half life project was canceled, G-man joined the skibidi toilet army
OMGGGG THIS IS *THE* VIDEOMOD! I'm forever grateful to you! Thanks!
Takes me back to LATE NIGHT times in middle school 😂😂 😢
If only you guys kept the series going with brand new songs and more characters from the next gen 😢
he's so cool
Do you have a Google Drive link or something to the videos you have available? With how transient old media and licensed songs are on the internet I'd love to have a copy of all of these videos along with the notes you've put in the descriptions because they're genuinely incredible and fascinating to look back on!
@Lord Inquisitor Shadowlord They do still carry UA-cam compression. The original source file would likely be in MPEG Part 14 with h.264 compression, which loses alot less of the video than YT video and audio compression
This goes unfathomably hard. I wish MTV used the original cut with the breencast speech. Now I need to mod in the So Cold instrumental just for the end level of HL2
YES!!!
Cold 🪨
This was the SHIT when I was 8
SHOW ME HOW IT ENDSSS IT'S ALRIGHTTTTTTTT
tis the bestz musix EVARRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!11!!!!!!
Man..
one of my favourite bands and one of my favourite games , do i have to ask for something else?
WOW this is so weird to see in high def
May I ask? Do you happen to have by any chance the video mods from Season 1, mostly with ones that have not been uploaded nor mentioned on the Wikipedia page?
Tony Shiff's youtube channel (the creator of video mods) had a few snippets of "Hey Ya!" and "The Way You Move" which both use the game, "The Sims Bustin Out."

No. I worked on season 2 and thats it. We didnt havev any of season 1 stuff.
why there is not that talk in ontro you cut it ?
going off the uploaders name and the original uploaders 480p upload. This is the version that was shown on MTV since apparently due to a licensing issue the breen speech couldn't be included in the broadcast
Skibidi toilet lore just got real….
Finally a high quality upload. Most of the uploads of this video are in 240p or 144p
