- Driving across the mountains of Apayao, I did not expect to find one of the biggest Virgin Forests In the Philippines!
This area is massive, full of trees, and home to the Philippine Eagle!
Welcome to Calanasan, Apayao! The largest Municipality in the Province of Apayao and very green! Motoring with my scooter up and over the mountains to get here was quite the adventure... but very much worth the experience! I learned some Isnag language, found out a bit of history, and hoped to spot a Philippine Eagle flying across the vigin forest!

What I enjoyed most about this motor quest across Calanasan was just learning a little bit about the area. I knew nothing about this place.... and had no clue there was a road being developed. Power On!

Kyle, what blends you well with the locals around the Philippines is your character and personality which i noticed was down to earth humble and kind without a lace of foreign attitude that sets you apart from other foreigners living in the country, you really know how to respect and follow the local culture. Kulas, There are 7 municipalities of Apayao. Hope you will visit them all. Municipalities are Kabugao, Calanasan, Conner, Flora , Santa Marcela, Luna and Pudtol.. Lot of things to explore; falls, caves and many more plus the people are friendly.

Coo Chee if you’re planning to visit first either Kabugao, Conner or Calanasan there are also transport Vans in Tuguegarao going to those municipalities. It’s another option for you as well.

I went to Calanasan last week and it worries me that Kulas have no partner in riding. Even if you are good in driving Kulas please be careful about the truck drivers that cut instantly on sharp curves. They are headache in some areas. All in all my prayers are with you. The lust green vegations, trees, rivers n waterfalls, majestic mountains all around surrounded with white clouds n somewhat surprised look but nevertheless welcoming ppl of d mountains seems to be d norm exploring the splendor of the cordies. I notice after the pleasant side trip to meet Therine ur clean outlook became ruggedy after only a few days, ahhhhhh the harsh reality of overworked. I had been in Calanasan years ago. CAR OCD invited us to train the 19 barangays and officials in Disaster preparedness, first aid and swift water rescue during the incumbency of former Mayor Elena Bulut. The people were wonderful, the place, stunning. We saw much of wildlife, clean rivers and excellent local food. Before we departed, the local officials and its constituents gave us a native weave, local coffee and togue. I fell in love with its natural beauty, wildlife and people. Its nice to note that the roads are now concrete. Thank you Kulas for bringing back wonderful memories of our weeklong stay in Calanasan.
Another great inspiration to do more traveling in unknown places. Thanks Kulas for showing us these places.

I've been there also in Calanasan Apayao. Napakaganda ng place, 4 Wheels naman ang gamit ko(Mitsubishi Pajero). Soon next year magamit ko ang motor ko papunta jan. Ingatz palagi

It's really surprising what's behind those mountains and hills. Beautiful town up in the mountains - having the time of your life every Filipino dream of. Place is looking idyllic and pristine. I love it when you include a little history in your video. The short narration of every town you reached adds attribute to your filming. Town hall is comfortably ensconce in the middle facing the statue of the town founder - your journey is nothing short of inspiration. Once again, you have proven that Mountain Province is an amazing place. In this video, I can see the joy in your face as you talk to new people. The challenges you face on your journey makes me feel so flabbergasted - where's that energy coming from? One thing I noticed, there aren't much people around. Love it when you take time to show me (us) along the way. Just like you, I am so, so surprised how beautiful the roads leading up to these mountains. From previous video I said, "going to unknown places and let the mountains and hills reveal their spectacular view" this is what I was talking about. You've reached one of my many dreams. Keep riding and take me to new place I've never heard of. 450K - congratulations! The music adds spice to the scenery. Unbelievable surroundings! From Apayao, now to Cagayan Valley. Adventure, it is!
