- I AM LEAVING MY HOME IN BGC AND TRAVELING TO THE PROVINCE...
In this video, my wife and I share a little cafe date at a place called "Auro". After hanging out she drops me off at the PITX southern bus terminal in Pasay City. From there I head to her home in Cavite and pick up my Becoming Filipino motor. Yup, I am headed off on a little Province adventure, and the first journey takes me to Batangas Port. This giant port acts as a gateway to many areas of the Philippines... including Mindoro. Where I find myself arriving late at night.

OMG! Thanks Kulas for this video. I saw where I was born in Naic, across the road where you rode the trike to Maragondon. The place I was born was in that corner but now it's a building with several stores (south east corner), next to the bridge you first crossed. I'm now retired living in Nevada, USA. I left the Philippines in early 1969 when I was a teenager and I moved to Seattle, WA.

Always watching your videos from the okanagan of BC Canada. You are well traveled around the Philippiens and more familiar all the places there, it's a shame that me as a filipino even don't know and traveled that much in my own country. Agree with Therine. Patak is a tagalog term means drop and adapted in cebuano as patak patak means to contribute.
Even funnier thing is, for us bisaya people, while we have also adapted the word patak-patak, we also say "chip-in chip-in". 🤭😂😁🤣

That's actually a great system for boarding there at Batangas port...getting rid of all the senseless red-tape wasting everyone's precious time and just doing a one-stop-shop one-time deal, boom! Good job Batangas port! edit: Port of Batangas.
Menwhile, my first and last experience going to and from camiguin was a nightmare i have no desire to repeat. Lol
Great video Kulas (watching from Surrey) and I always enjoy these moto vlogs. I'm giving serious consideration to getting a small bike just for when my wife and I are out at the family home in Dumangas where we usually end up for a month or two each year. For home, .... San Fernando, Pampanga maybe a small SUV would serve us better. Therine and you seem to have the best of both worlds. Safe travels!!

In Mindoro maybe you should explore the provice. There are lots to see along the way to the next port before boarding another Roro to Panay island.

Oh my gosh, We used that port a lot and I used to drive in circles, stand in lines getting permits, fees paid. We took the 2GO ferry from there to Boracay. It's $65 usd each for a 2 person suit (one way).In total, way cheaper than flying. Board at 7pm and sleep overnight to arrive in Boracay (Caticlan) at 8 am. The hardest part was getting early check in at the hotel. I suggest it, very nice way to avoid the drive to and the flight in MLN.

Lovely Mt Batulao it is Kulas, with the pointed peak, and Mt. Maculot the one in Taal lake. Missin my mountaineering days in Philippines, now mostly climbing gnarly trails of North Vancouver mountains 😍. Enjoy!

Kulas, Therine will have to get used to having to wipe off her glasses when she gets caught in the rain. That's one of the reasons I prefer using contact lenses after so many years of glasses only. Astigmatism is such a bother and can be quite frustrating.
I think this must be the first time I've ever seen you use the face shield on your helmet 9:15. I've often wondered if you ever use it or if we just don't get to see it on video.

Sir ( the man in cream shirt), Mindoro is a big island. That's why it was divided into two provinces, Oriental (facing the Pacific) and Occidental (facing China Sea as claimed by Chinese or the West Philippine Sea). Maybe what Kulas would do is to go to the top of the highest mountain and shout out the name of the friend of the man, delos reyes of calle barako. 😂
Watching here in Bacoor City, Cavite! Kulas my idol, I how wish to I meet you somewhere 🙂. I went there last Friday 04, 2024 and stayed at Baco, Oriental Mindoro for 3 days at 2 nights. Highly recommend to visit, the Infinity Farm Resort.

You didn't have to get off in Naic, that bus is passing Maragondon.
Kulas - Balayan was the 1st capital of the province now known as Batangas. In the olden times, the province takes its name from the capital town or city. Then it was moved to Taal, one of the richest towns of the province. However it gets destroyed often when Taal volcano erupts. So they moved the capital farther to Batangas City and hence the province name is Batangas and has stuck since.
Patak-patak is undoubtly a tagalog word. Sa ato mga bisaya, "chip in chip in". Hahahahahahahha

that majestic mountain is Mt Batulao it has one of the best sunsets in Cavite it has two peaks Bato means rock Lao is light . they say that when the sunsets between the two summits it will create a light on a rock that is why it is Batulao it is one of the calderas of the real Taal
Volcano .
Theres also another famous church there Our Lady of Caysasay.

Patak patak is tagalog Kulas. As Bogart has said Bisaya is just English with an accent. In bisaya we call it chip-in chip-in. :D
