It was a sad day for me when they closed Allied carpets on the way in to Bolton. I used to burst in to song every time, at the sight of the sign from the A666.

@@wayneharding6594 DENIM! DENIM! DIDDLY DIDDLY DENIM! Also love Bye bye Christmas There's no one in the bar but Lenny Henry. Also: WHAT'S SHE GOANNA LOOK LIKE WITH A CHIMNEY ON HER!
I didn’t remember they did a studio version as well as the one in the countryside, this has different lyrics, doesn’t have that “she wasn’t immunized, that’s a legal requirement..” line
I never got those two. I was the right age, my 20's but it just went whoosh over my head. Ah well, they sure didn't need me cheering them on to make it large in local UK comedy.
they did do a lot of stuff that was just nonsensical, almost dadaistic, it didn’t always make me laugh, but I loved the craziness and the creativity of it. And a lot of it still makes me laugh to the point of losing control, and I couldn’t even explain why. I really enjoyed the physical comedy of the two of them too.
haha, I was actually googling photos of Milligan and Nesbitt earlier today, to show a friend. (There’s one of them both naked in their backstage drinking champagne. 🤣) 2 ex-miners from Northumberland
This and 'My Lovely Horse' are all time classics!
Oh mate! You and me both.😂
Preach!!
It's just the same note over and over
I sometimes mention Mulligan & O'Hare as a "favourite band" or an influence on my own music to unsuspecting people - just for fun really.
That sounds like a lot of fun
Mmm. Yeeessh
🤣🤣🤣
Splendid
Explains alot after hearing how bad your music is

Were you able to remember all the lyrics from just seeing it once? Impressive!
Vic's face at "CAAAARRR..........................CARPET salesman!!!" always cracks me up.
Isn't the joke that she left him for a carp?
Vic losing it at "Carpet Salesman" is absolute gold!
Definitely you could see his body chuckling and the grin 😂
Yessss 😅
Vic looks like a young Terry Wogan
I think that's the idea, lol.
He actually does!
He looks like the offspring of Terry Wogan and Olive'Oyl.
With better tits! 😛 😜 😛 😜
with tits
"She hasn't been seen for six weeks, but our alibis are intact." Burst out laughing.
"When the Bournemouth Killings occurred, Dr. Fegg was in a far-off Hove".
I still find myself singing this song even now...
HOT DOGS FOR SALE!
Very, very violent...quality! I've been singing this song since it was first aired. Classic!
I saw these legends support Spinal tap at the Isle of Lucy in 1972 fantastic concert
Always a favourite song of mine, touching lyrics, just wish other performers had the artistry and sensitivity of these two gentleman
And the knockers
Yes, it's a beautiful song.
Aww the 90’s not just great music but genius comedy like this.Yep I miss em plus I was a lot younger ha
Classic stuff from the boys. So funny because there are so many genuine folk singers like that. What a thought!!
I used to love watching this series at school! ❤️
Sounds like a very liberal school... :)
Two of my favourite characters along with the councillors Cox and Evans.
This should be the National Anthem. Just imagine the England team lining up and singing along to this!
the womble I would actually start watching football just for that
YOU ADUUULTEROUSS COWWWW!!!
@@pov_music 😂😂
I loved this series and it's a shame it didn't carry on for longer. True inheritors of Spike Milligan and you can't say better than that.
Much more like Morecambe and Wise.
@@baronmeduse what? lol M&W were very bland middle of the road to me vic and bob were way more surreal
@@NickSBailey You lack a sense of history. Vic specifically played him in a docudrama, because of the influence. Go back to sleep.
This will never date 🙂.
Surreal comedy at its very best.
♥️
I will always love how glinty Bob’s eyes go when things go a bit wrong
Vic absolutley wetting himself when Bob says carpet salesman
This is so funny. Vic and Bob are class. My favourite of their creations were the ponderers.
hmmm hmmm hmmm hmmm
I want this played at my funeral.
Brilliant.
Loved them the first time I saw them in 1990
"...that didn't stop us from trying!!" 😡😡
😂😂😂👍
Vic is absolutely superb here. Looks like he's going to corpse for a second, then slides easily into mild contempt. What a guy.
Still one of the funniest sketch creators … 2020 and forever ;)
Pure and utter class. Just so funny
Total legends......
They're absolute genius together like Peter Cooke and Dudley Moore were back in the day.
agreed
Agreed also..
They need to make a real album of all of their songs
Comedy gold, Vic and bob always make me laugh.
My Rose has left me

With the bloke from Allied Carpets
We couldn’t have children
That didn't stop us from trying

Their alibis are intact.
@@ignoblesurfer6281 I was at Mulligans

Really cracked me up this, it's the words to the song.
These guys were awesome, saw theee live show many many years ago and it was fantastic
They are super brilliant
haunting
Just realised how realistic Bob's beard looks during this... Amazing really.
This still makes me cry laughing

Loyd Grossman clip was the best 'Well Hellooooooo and welcome to Masterchef' :) sooo funny
Come back R and M
The cheeky corpse grin.
gets you every time )
Love all of this xxxxxxxx
those clothes, perfect representation of that era
Vic and Bob at their finest. Best celebrities since Cannon and Ball
Vic trying not to laugh at 1:42.
Vic & Bob are always at their best when it’s Bob elevating a Vic idea or Vic elevating a Bob idea. Just perfect chemistry.
Rose eventually left me for a.. Caaaar..ff...Carpet salesman 😂
Magnificent!
Hotdogs for sale & ive just come off my Honda make me chuckle to myself to this day.
But where were the hotdogs for sale?
T B over there by the beef burgers?
I’d loved to have been a fly on the wall when they were writing this …. An embedded ankle chain, toupee cream and an Allied Carpet salesman 😂😂😂😂.
My all time favourite. Followed closely by Hotdog, What Hotdog? (Hotdogs For Sale).
This is the funniest 2 minutes ever, genius
Surreal Brilliance!
I forgot some of these I’m at home ill gonna binge some 😂
My favourite mulligan and o'hare tune but their reworking of brimful of Asher comes close

vic trying not to laugh lol
car carpet salesman - just brilliant from Bob.
Back on our TV screens soon!
favourite line "She went to Kenya with the man from Allied Carpets"
She wasn't immunised, that's a legal requirement
She could get away with double vaccination these days.
Classic...even after all these years I cannot stop myself from saying 'Roooooose'. Good job the wife's called Janet (dammit)!
Very violent how British comedy should be ;)
Terry wogan and Noel Edmonds and there best
Mulligan and o' hare are a trendier Simon and garfunkel and this poignant heart tugger is their bridge over troubled water 😁

Comedy perfection.
I thought they were a real band for ages lol X
THE BEST
I loved it when they nearly lost it. Lol
arcade fire and vic and bob fan? you’re so cool man
Ingenious 🤣
Bob was born round the corner from me. He used to come into my pub in Middlesbrough.
I used to see him in a pub in Camberwell (early '90s)
I wish they were both still on TV!
I don't not funny at all.
@@christineclarke1513 that's ok, life would be boring if we all liked the same thing :)

The classic Terry Wogan look
Bob held it together so much better than Vic, who was clearly about to lose it with every passing line 😂
Probably took many takes to get it to this!

first held HANDS!
Three people have never been to Allied Carpets.

I’ve always thought of their comedy a surreal but as Bob points out in his book they were really really just being silly to make each other laugh.
I think the word all the other commenters were looking for is "embedded"
They always remind me of Ball and Boe 🤣🤣
