Apparently that was improvised too and they just said “that’s the one” after that take. From then on they ended all the John Craven bits with the Dalek voice.
It's really very simple, actually. You just need to convince your mum's sister to track down and seduce Mr Mortimer, then trick him into marrying her, and Bob's your uncle!
Whiskey & Brandy fcuking hilarious I woke up this morning & in my head was these two saying TOO WEEEE but I couldn’t remember who it was but after a few searches I’ve found it at 1st I thought it was from Little Britain but soon realised it was Vic & Bob great memories with these two Comedy Gold 😂✌🏼💙🙏🏼👍🏼🏴
Bob Mortimer giving his Brandy character a lazy eye is such a subtle yet genius touch. Much like his part in Mulligan and O'Hare where he doesn't have a neck.
Only just discovered Tom Fun after 15 years and wondering what he's doing now. He's got a whole cart of cakes with him in every sketch so it's not just when he's on a long walk in the moors.
There are certain comedy programmes that not only stand the test of time but actually improve with it. I'd definitely put "A Touch of Fry & Laurie" in there along with Reeves and Mortimer. You never new where "R&M" we're going with a sketch but you'd always be laughing your head off at the end. Totally surreal and brilliant.
If you like those shows, try bits of Mitchell and Webb . A bit more cerebral but sketches like Ultron , numberwang and the evil supreme needing building work done are right up there.
I can remember playing this video for my mate and him crying with laughter - especially when Vic Reeves slips down the embankment and intrudes on a spot of quiet fishing.
For all those stuggling to understand why Vic and Bob are so highly revered let give you a one word reason - inspiration. Like all great innovators they're legacy is the newness of what they did at the time. We all new it was brilliantly diverse and funny but it needed them to expose us to it. It's all in the subtlety and the depth of observation of the characters. Characters, that in order to find funny you have to appreciate the multi-layers. Please don't talk crap about Harry Enfied etc - all of which are great but they didn't deliver the heights of V&B. Yes it is often inconsistent but that's the difference between genius and the mainstream - you have to understand and accept that when appreciating it.
Less and less people understand the truth of what you're saying in these politically controlled and technologically ordered times we live in especially the under 40s who have been conditioned in intellectual rationalized conformity based on the obvious and structured thought where randomness and creativity has little place and is almost seen as a form of idiocy or the result of an unbalanced mind.
Lorne Campbell I disagree with the inconsistent part! I think it's all interesting and inspired and even the bits that dont make me laugh entertain me now and then in a intriguing or artistic way! Also it depends on your mood. Every time I watch I laugh at different parts!
@@James-yy4vl hi yes I agree! I've just been trolled for 2 days straight by some vicious little troll just because I said there's not much funny stuff on telly anymore? Can you believe it?
I spent a few months in Denmark with the army in the 80's and made some great freinds. One of whom im still in touch with. I wish brits were as layed back as you guys are but as for humour, you're right, very similar
Nothing pisses fisherman off more than something that might spook the fish... slides down the bank on his arse and kicks his tackle in the river. What an entrance.
Hi, Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer have provided us with a signed photo to auction to raise money for Dorset Wildlife Trust. We have listed this art up on eBay which you can find by searching Dorset Wildlife Trust on Ebay and would love for you to take a look. This is not something we usually at Dorset Wildlife Trust, but we wanted to let you know so you wouldn't miss out on this unusual auction.
When i was first based up at Catterick garrison we'd go up and watch a very early version of 'Big night out' It was a great place and time We were spoilt with Vic and Bob and Viz Quality. At Darlington i think it was and they once played a venue in Consett. No one wanted to be designated driver (on shark watch-if you know you know)
Back to watch it again after 3 years…some bloody things you just cant let it go!! No i wouldnt. This is my number twoo after the first masterchef. I just think of them sitting down writing this and bob says….what if countryfile was presented by a bunch of city boy, ignorant to wildlife and utterly unconcerned people, and vic laughing his walnuts off..
'Itsa wayles eyeeelash!' this program made my childhood! im 17 and NONE of my friends know about this program i cant believe it, every good comedy nowadays is inspired by them
Tom Fun states that he will be walking 12 miles on the Eskdale Way from Lealholm to Glaisdale. I live nearby and know that it is actually less than 2 miles. I will not be able to take Reeves and Mortimer seriously any more due to this major inaccuracy.
oh come on, you failed to take into account that, after the first sherry, he will be disorientated and will divert to Ainthorpe....happens every time with me. It's exactly 12 miles and you should be ashamed of yourself for doubting them.
can you believe this was actually on tv? we were spoiled. british tv today is an embarrassment. anyone envolved in it should plunge themselves into hot fat and film it. that would improve the quality of british tv no end.
The intro with the land rover driving through everything always has me in stitches.
Absolutely the funniest part of the whole thing, hysterical
The fence remains unrepaired to this day
My dad had one and he literally drove it like that I remember him reversing through a gate and just heading off 😂
The Dalek voice is just unnecessarily brilliant
Everything's unnecessarily brilliant ;) Thank god for them ;)
It was very necessary.
Bob seems to have a thing about John craven . He said milton Keynes is boring but scary , like John craven with big metal teeth .
'Unnecessarily brilliant' is brilliant!
Apparently that was improvised too and they just said “that’s the one” after that take. From then on they ended all the John Craven bits with the Dalek voice.
Since seeing this I can't stop doing the Dalek voice at the end of every sentence, co-workers are starting to get enraged.
we all love a Dalek
Yes!
🤣🤣🤣 27 years on and my sister and I still say certain sentences like this to eachother. Never gets old!
Love that idea 💡😂
Exterminate them!
Tom Funs outfit is just amazing - and a lot of fun
it really is.. a lot of fun
A lot of fun
It's quite a fun outfit - not easy to put on, but a lot of fun once it's on.
@Kenny Groundhopper and the bright red glove 😂 "is it giro day Tom?"
Int that fun
23 years later and I still laugh at the raised voice at THE END OF EVERY SENTENCE!!
Something rather unusual DOWN ON THE FARM!!
Raised voice? Wouldn't it be more accurately described as a dalek's voice?
I actually love Bob, he's such a funny bloke. I want one in my home.
It's really very simple, actually. You just need to convince your mum's sister to track down and seduce Mr Mortimer, then trick him into marrying her, and Bob's your uncle!
A national treasure.
And much more of a natural comedian than Reeves
I had the double VHS of this smell of reeves and Mortimer ... brilliant . Many a Friday night after the pub we'd have this on
The Glory Days eh?
You raised hell...

I still have it 😎
Good times
The fishing segment is one of the funniest bits of television of all time.

An entire milk churn full of sherry should last "virtually" the entire walk. It's gonna be a lot of fun!
Underrated line
Bob Mortimer giving his Brandy character a lazy eye is such a subtle yet genius touch. Much like his part in Mulligan and O'Hare where he doesn't have a neck.
And his funny trouser leg
He's taking the p1ss out a couple of a Scottish interior design duo that were everywhere at the time, the one Bob is lampooning, had a lazy eye.
So it's not subtle or genius it's just copying the man
The part with the land rover discovery driving through everything has me crying 😂
I love the way watching Vic n Bob reminds you of one of those strange dreams you have where you wake up and think 'what was all that about then!'
Everytime I see John Craven on the telly I always do my finest Bob doing John Craven in the style of a darlek impression.
Love how he has his hands in his pockets as soon as he gets out of the land rover 😂😂😂
I'm glad Bob went on to make another series dedicated to him falling over while fishing. Shame Paul hasn't taken him to the Hedex though...
Only just discovered Tom Fun after 15 years and wondering what he's doing now. He's got a whole cart of cakes with him in every sketch so it's not just when he's on a long walk in the moors.
"Join us next week when I reckon we'll get that off". Hahahaha.
I wish him luck 🤞
This is the best line Hahahah
And his look of complete contempt and disbelief that she's being so unreasonable by not getting it off 😂
I thought the credits were genius:
Tom Orrosworld
Matt Lockinderbyshire

Tom Fun and his 'snouts' - according to 1970s TV shows, inmates in British jails (or gaols) called cigarettes 'snouts'. Had Tom Fun ever been in jail?
