    Template: bianabova.tumblr.com/post/1551...
    Guys, this video takes the cake for hardest video to export and upload EVER. 6 hours to export out of premier and over an hour to upload only 7% to youtube and that's with the help of my literal tech support boyfriend. But that being said, I'm pretty damn proud of how this vid came out and I'm hoping this will inspire you guys to make your own :)
    Catch me on instagram @bianabova, snapchat @bianabova, and on bianabova.tumblr.com
    Love you guys!

      You know, I'm actually Turkish and still learning english. And the name for the sticks in Turkish is shish (or "şiş"). So I thought " wow, they say şiş too?". The thing I wanna say is there is words means the same thing even if they sound so different and the name of the kebab came from the sticks, you can understand it, why make it a huge thing? Some times I don't understand the people. ( it made me smile every time you say it too. So thanks!)

    Poor girl tip; you can use tree branches from the forest and fix them up, it might have an interesting affect.

  • @veera7487
    @veera7487 7 років тому +19

    Just a little tip to everyone: I made this today (turned out great), and what I found out is that you want to use thicker kebab sticks like she does in the video. I used ones that are quite thin and flimsy and they would snap in half or rip the paper in the book. The end result is the same, but it is easier with the kind of sticks she used.

    • @recoveringsoul755
      @recoveringsoul755 3 роки тому +1

      I never saw ones this thick before. I guess you could use wooden dowels from the craft store too, but the pointy end would really be helpful in threading it through each signature. Actually craft/hobby stores probably have metal rods too, might be stronger in smaller sizes, and maybe more slippery for the paper to slide against.
      someone above mentioned toothpicks for a mini book, made me think of those plastic party picks in assorted colors with decorative stuff. I had some pink flamingo ones, different sea creatures, they may have a more plain version so one end doesn't need trimming.

      I actually did it! I used way thinner sticks because I accidentally ordered the wrong size but it worked just as well! It's really awesome! Just make sure your first and last pages are a thick paper so the cover doesn't rip off :)

    To anyone thinking of making this awesome book- I would recommend wooden dowel rods instead of skewers/kebab sticks. They might be called something different from where you're from, but they're basically skewers without the pointy end, so using them would save you from the difficult task of cutting through wood. You should be able to find them in any craft store.

    • @recoveringsoul755
      @recoveringsoul755 3 роки тому

      Don't you need to pointy end to thread them through the signatures before cutting off the point with the wire cutters?

    Biana, to save you time and hand strength, in case you decide to make this type of sketchbook again, Michael's and Walmart sell packages of dowels for about two dollars. The dowels are blunt on each end, so you don't have to worry about cutting off a pointy end. Thanks for sharing the how to.
    I agree with you that it's easier to show rather than tell. I guess that's why they say a picture is worth 1000 words😉.

    if no one has mentioned this yet, a good way of making the cutting sticks easier is to do it with each stick after you finish weaving it. that way you only really deal with one at a time than 3-4 at a time. otherwise, cool video :)
