There's a difference between Lonely and Alone. You can Actually be Lonely and be living with someone. You can control your mind and Living with yourself at Peace is First. Just like, in order to Love someone, You must first Love Yourself. 🙏

Loneliness is the pain of being alone .. solitude is the joy of being alone .. learn to love yourself first and be content on your own.. then after you can select partners from a place of self assurance vs one of neediness.. oh yeah and not being broke makes it all much better :)

Have a great day my friend. I agree with a lot of things you say. What i do is stand back and watch Philippines people buy stuff and try and find out price first. It doesn't always work, but still saves me. Getting a taxi you have to work out price first. I got a taxi to airport last time i was there, i knew its a 350 to 400 paso trip. He started driving and said it be 800 paso. I said stop the taxi let me out, you trying to rip me off, you think its my first time here. I told him its 400 at the most. He said sorry, so i said look i give you 500 but dont try and fool me. We ended up having a great chat and laughed all the way to the airport. I gave him the 500 and then gave him another 300 tip. And said see you still got the 800 because i enjoyed the ride isnt that better then ripping people off. Better service get you more money. He was very happy.

If you are driving your car in the Philippines and get in an accident, it is automatically your fault allegedly. The reasoning is that you are a foreigner. If you weren't there, it wouldn't have happened. Now that was the talk around town when I was there. I wasn't driving over there, so I don't know how true that is. You can't be too careful over there. Some of the people there are not honest. Some have schemes they use to part you from your money. They figure that since you are an American you are wealthy.

Staying single is also problematic. Singles are seen as available and there can be a mad rush to entrap you. So many guys have a female "cousin" who wants to meet you. I have had too many young female strangers knocking on my door offering "friendship" and outright sex. If you're able to resist then you get explained away as a "chick boy", gay, miser or impotent. Housework is difficult but hiring domestic help is tricky. I've had newly hired maids strip down to bikinis to work in, hiding drugs in my house, rob neighbors and carted off to jail, stealing me blind and collapse and die on the job. But I have had GREAT househelp that I helped put thru school and now are life-time friends. Sometimes life here in the Philippines can be like walking through a mine field but also can be very rewarding. Must haves are wisdom, humility, willing to take advice but also to discern and also a good heart.

Hey Calvin, this is great advice. I used to live in Thailand 6 months out of the year. And I did that for 10 years. My transportation was the Sky Train , City bus, and motor bike taxi. very cheap. My food was mostly Thai street food and noodle soups. I shopped at Thai stores , and like you said buy the products that has the prices on them. Lot of Xpats gotta have stake and eggs, which cost a lot more. Every once in awhile I would have a Big Mac, combo maybe once a month. doing all of that , I always had money. The trouble with westerners is, they gotta show off to the local people that they have a lot of money. "Dummie" 😂😂😂

When I start living abroad I will get myself a Onewheel XR. Its not good to ride it in the rain but when its dry out they are good for 12 to 15 miles off a single charge and you can take them anywhere. I will have to get the batteries shipped separately because they will not let you on a plane with them if over a certain compacity or I will build a off road skateboard. But it looks like I will not have a Filipino girlfriend or wife in my future. Good friend of mine has been working on me to marry one of his nieces through marriage. Standup family that I trust. It took two years I finally gave it a chance. I will be bringing over my fiancé on a K1 visa once Cambodia opens back up without restrictions and quarantines. If I didn't know him and his wife for years it would be no way I would give this a chance but both never have did me wrong and always been fair and honest with me. So, I am taking a chance.

That's the advice that King Marco gave three months ago. You dealing with a different culture. Does your wife's family think that every time they meet financial difficulty that you are supposed to step in and bail them out? For the 2 1/2 years I lived in Angeles City, I saw so many American and Filipino relationships crash and burn 🔥. It was either infidelity or money 💰. The husband wasn't supporting the wife's family when they needed it. I heard that taking care of the wife's family was in the wedding vows. I don't know how true that is.

It’s the Filipina’s obligation to her family not the foreigner’s. In marriage it’s absolute community property. Expect her to spend all of her$, and half of yours. Do not marry unless her family is well off.

Would you buy a new computer here in the Philippines or would you go through Amazon? Thank you for your videos. Respectfully

Definitely Amazon unless the shipping eliminates the difference. There is Shopee and Lazada here, two online markets.

Great advice, but an older guy's dream of living the life that they feel is quickly slipping away from them in their home country is hard to resist. If a guy wanted to live alone and not partake of the pleasures of life in the Philippines, they could have found that experience much closer to their home countries rather than flying halfway around the world. The bigger problem is guys showing up without enough savings. In the past perhaps a guy could talk himself into it being ok because they could relatively easily get on a plane back to their home country. That is obviously not the case now.

It’s not hard to find company here you don’t have to keep them and take care of them.

Calvin like you I'm from United States and black. Did you have any problems racism wise in Philippines? Plus where is a good place like you say to buy homes $20,000 I am guessing that in the big city?

    • @calroach1
      @calroach1  3 роки тому

I have never faced the type of racism here that I grew accustomed to at home. The Philippines is vast and diverse and San Carlos City is a small town with big borders. You won’t have a problem building a house for 20K. Buying one already built for 20K may be a bigger problem.

A single man can ensure that 100% of his money and assets remain his forever,
and there is no risk that a court or judge can order half your assets or money,
to be transferred to your ex,
or to order you to pay monthly payment to your ex for rest of your life,
till the last day of your existence.
    As a single man,
all your assets and money remain yours for ever and ever .
Being a single man means u are free to go dating or having consensual sexual intimacy with a few women , all at same time ,
without having to be stuck with only 1 woman
