Thanks for Watching. Please hit like👍, and leave a comment letting me know your opinion of this young mans potential 💪
0:47 Holy crap was that double over hand too? Jesus that's some grip strength! Guy is an absolute beast at 17!! Imagine what he's going to be lifting in 10 years!!!!
He's doing a hook grip technique, where you wrap your fingers around your thumb
@@TheLegMan1 Ahh yes that makes sense, I forgot about hook grip, painful mind!
Thanks bud.
Also he did still recently do a double overhand 210kg or so I believe
Very inspiring dude, I am the same age as him but about half a year younger, its insane to see younger talent appear with totals like this, especially with him probably being in the top under 18 conventional pullers in the world
Looks like the kid from Bad Santa
Bad movie.
Reminds me of George Leeman back when he was up and coming
If he can keep this up this progression and remain injury free then he's got an amazing shot at becoming WSM.
His attitude is pretty shitty from what I’ve seen on social media and he ego lifts a LOT even when hurt. No shot unfortunately
Hey I been following this guy. Cool to see him getting noticed.
At 17 and only 2.5 years training he could go far.
love discovering new strongman talent, thanks for this video Strength universe.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Whether or not he's going to be world strongest man or not time will tell but one thing is for certain he is immense now let alone when is fully developed.
Amazing guy, great find of u to feature him on your channel. Just freakishly strong at such a young age. I wish him all the best in his future endeavors. As i was telling somebody earlier today there are greater genetic potential for strength all around the world it's just that many of the top tier genetic freaks used not to choose powerlifting and instead entered in Nfl, Nba, Baseball , Pro wrestling etc. in Usa specially. But i feel the sports of strength like powerlifting and strongman needs to be conducted in wide scale in every parts of the world , not just in Usa , Uk and other parts of Europe where this sport is already getting more popular than ever , but also in every countries of African continent and Asian continents. I know Australian continent already have had some great strength athletes in the past or even now. India where i live not many people care about sports like powerlifting and strongman even though we regularly conduct competitions like India's strongest man or powerlifting competitions due to lack of good money. By this not cream of the crop can be encouraged to compete. I assure u the two asian countries, India and China possess the two largest population in the earth so,it is highly probable that u can get far more variety of genetic talents from these two countries as compared to other countries, despite the general notion spread across the globe that north eastern european races like scandinavians, slavic ,norse and icelanders are definitely stronger than other races from other countries. Through this, we would witness greater pool of genetic talents and potential and by doing so would get the idea of who truly is the strongest. . Then the titles like world's strongest man, strongest man on earth, world's strongest powerlifter etc. would hold its true meaning and value. Rn it is great time for strength sport like powerlifting where a wider pool of genetic talents are participating and it is guaranteed for strength aficionados like us to watch old records falling and new records setting in the coming years.
I agree. Strongman has grown massively over the past decade but it's at a fraction of where it could be.
Wow he's amazing for any age God bless
Good to know the kid from "Bad Santa" (2003) turned things around!
I rememeber in high school, the bench record was 350lbs. The 16 year old who did it was jacked. And this kid does 450lbs??? Insane!
When I was in highschool I've seen 16 and 17 year olds press 315 for reps... And they benched 5 days a week for football...WTF ? After 20 years of working out being a grown man....I still have not came close to the strength these teenagers had. Seems pathetic for some reason
@@earlcoles5215 Genetics, brother.
Possibly training & diet too. I don't know you but when you have the money unfortunately to go for it all it helps. Having how many people behind the scenes that know your DNA to then tell you to the micrograms of what you need & how you should work out & change said workouts as you grow. Unfortunately yes the above comment is true. Genetics play a BIG role as well.
Get it!
What a powerhouse this kid is! Thank you for the video! Do you think it'll be possible for you to make a video about Sébastien Chabal?
I say follow your heart.
great stuff looking forward to seeing more of broden in the future
his deadlift progressed from 290kg to 320kg in 2 months (according to his instagram videos) which is absolutely insane progress and i highly doubt thats naturally possible even with top tier genetics. im aiming to become a professional strongman as well, but this guy will burnout in the next 5-6 years + using steroids this early is something i wouldnt recommend
Like Kevin Knee
Cant agree with you more, hammering his joints so fast will end in disaster
That is pretty good progress, but im his age too and I have put on even more than 30kg to my deadlift in less time, it definitely is possible to achieve progress like that especially as teenagers we recover incredibly quickly due to the peak of growth hormone, its like built in steroids
That’s a big boi. He’s got a lot of potential for sure.
Holy crap. This kids a freak. In the right ways.
Hopefully Brian Shaw sees this and takes him under his wing.
Now he’s retired I feel like he could coach this guy to WSM inside ten years
17 unreal , still another 7 years before that body develops.
I would add that Strength athlete don't usually peak until their mid thirties
Good Luck Broden!
Wow!
These lifts is where all of the top 1% genetically start. So depending on his ability to compete, discipline, motivation, willingness to learn etc, ya he could have a bright future, he should find a good coach to guide him and take no advice from the internet.
Thurman Merman got strong asf
It is good to see the young prodigy to have a potential in the strength games like him. But I just hope he is consistent to his longevity. I dont wanna something of a youngsters short career like Arild Haugen, Paul Pirjol, and Kevin Nee, let alone Luke Richardson at some point, it's just devastating. Just keep consistent, avoid injuries, and of course training freakin smart. Rushing thing for the good beginning is tend to have a bad end.
Lots of room to grow
a lift 320 pound 19 year bench press body 142pound
Very impressive!💪
I hope (beyond hope perhaps) he's not using any PEDs. Went to HS with someone similar who was using them; he died at 21 from an acute MI.
wow....amazing!
I hope he takes it slow. he obviously has big potential but shouldn't rush anything. it feels like we see promising young prodigies every few months but then just kinda dont go anywhere from there for various reasons.
that being said, what actually happened to the 20yo kid who deadlifted 400kg a year or two ago while still being strictly drug tested?
kids a beast!!!!
To early predict...remember Kevin Nee ? At age 21 WSM final....and where is he now ? ......at age 17 lifting so heavy can ruin the joints in years...and can cause injuries in 20s ....as we see Mateusz Klieskowsky also...he is just 28 but in the past 3 years he was mostly injured.....
300+kg squat in his garage with no spotters is just bonkers, he will do well if he doesn't seriously hurt himself ego lifting
looks like kenny power's nephew
what is this database used for checking records called?
Open powerlifting site.
Fug, that kid is strong.
Could be.
Kids a savage
Jeez. This guy is crazy strong. Dare I say it, he doesn’t look unnatural either. Looking forward to seeing him in strongman!
This is impressive Regardless of age. But at 17!! Wow, this kid could go far. Lets just hope hes still natural.
We’ll see how well he responds to PEDs
lol he is on them already, don't be naive
Even if he had hit all his "dream" total he would still be 130+ pounds behind Mark Henry at the same age (According to openpowerlifting and Mark only took one bench and one dl attempt at that age apparently). Wonder how you decide to feature these randos who are no doubt strong but definitely don't have a hope in hell of making it to WSM unless they are actually natural and respond super well to drugs. Makes you realize how ridiculous Mark Henry is (esp if he was actually natural, as you seem to believe).
Mark competed with Knee wraps, Broden competes Raw and had at least a year more training then Broden at that point. Mark didn't just take one attempt at each lift, the data was completed in retrospected and has some inaccuracies. "Wonder how you decide to feature these randos" were you one of those saying Mitchell Hooper would amount to nothing when I featured him 2 years ago?
Haha nope, can’t say I was a serious enough fan to remember Mitch before he did that online 475 DL and 200 Log.
Thanks for clarifying about the wraps and the attempts I didn’t know that. But I guess my main point is that he doesn’t seem crazy strong when you’re talking about WSM quality. There are another 7 guys in his weight class alone who totalled more than him, all in the last 10 years and none of them have become household names (at least to a casual like me). Also there’s one crazy guy called Eleuterio Montalvo who totalled 100lbs more raw at a lighter weight class last year if you play with the filters on openpowerlifting and he wasn’t featured.
All this is to say that I just found it weird you decided to feature this random guy who doesn't seem crazy strong and I'm just wondering where these people come from.
Thanks for the reply btw!
@@ryanwong3481 To clarify, I tend to only feature powerlifters who are big enough (height and weight) and have mentioned that they want to compete in Strongman
When I was in highschool I've seen 16 and 17 year olds press 315 for reps... And they benched 5 days a week for football...WTF ? After 20 years of working out being a grown man....I still have not came close to the strength these teenagers had. Seems pathetic for some reason
They may have all been on the juice and most average gym users will very achieve a 220lb bench press so wouldn't read to much into it
i did 140kg at 17,5 yrs training 1-2 times a week average for 2 yrs. 82kg and 176cm. no steroids. Eventho i didnt train often, i had alot of intensity and rage within. started with 1 time a week and added on later to two when iadded more legwork and deadlift.
then i injured my triceps and shoulder, and fukked up any huge progress since then : p
@@wernerbro3208 even 140 kg is strong for an adult in my opinion.. at 17 that is power
Yeah, that kid has freakish natural talent. If he can remain injury free, I have no doubt he'll be up there with the best in the world.
The roids he must be taking. His poor body
You do know it's possible that he might not be taking as much as you think. Some people have far superior strength genetics and this kid obviously has.
at 17, his test is high and with the lifts he is doing - even higher. At 56 I have take 200mg per week just to bring me in the range he is at naturally. he is already on a natural cycle.
this is talent, not roids. 99% of roidheads will never get even close to those numbers
@@dtosmanm4743 Exactly, people think you can just take roids and be as strong as a pro strongman or look like an IFBB pro. Sorry but it just doesn't work like that, at all!
Lol, for a 325lb person, his number suck
No they don't suck how about you show us a video of your lifts.
@@JasonLee-gy5ch I'm benching 500lbs raw. Suck on that
@@billyanderson6457 Ha Ha! Yeah! We are ALL believing that! 😂🤣
@stevenweint7893 I couldn't care less what you believe, actually it's 505lbs.
@@billyanderson6457 505lbs! Well, that is a different matter! LOL
he got that ginger rage.
McDonald's strongest man perhaps
