I forgot how much I love our arrangement of this. I know I'm a guitarist and all, but 9/10 times I prefer pianos when it's an emotional song like this one. Natalie crushed it!
I prefer this version more then Slipknot's acoustic version.. she holds the right notes longer.

There's something so bittersweet about the fact that there's a collective agreement that the song is missing the pain, but that we're glad it is in this case... In a way it adds a layer of bittersweet to the song itself... Either way, it's a beautiful cover, and I, like everyone else hope that the singer never has to feel the kind of pain that, unfortunately, made the original so good

They are learning the songs. Structure and time etc. Feeling and emotion is self learned. Allows the problem with covers. Hurt is the only cover that has more emotion than original
More seasoned vocalists give that "tortured"or "haunting" emotion to their work. They have time to get there. Some that come to mind are Layne Staley and Chris Cornell. Both, unfortunately, had the tortured souls behind the voice. Chris Cornell did a cover of Prince's "Nothing Compares 2 U" that's phenomenally powerful.
