BACKSTORY
The kids and crew of OMF have always been huge fans of the classic 80's movie, The Lost Boys. Back in 2008, OMF took our students to the Chicago Recording Company to record "I Still Believe", another incredible song from the movie! Check it out here: • I Still Believe / For ...
Since then, "Cry Little Sister" has always been on our list of potential cover songs. But it isn't easy to find 23 students who can do this song justice so it took 12 years to align the stars. Our students then spent over a year learning Cry Little Sister note for note. Originally, we planned on recording and filming the song in a church since it would fit the mood of the song perfectly. But then COVID-19 became a concern and we nearly had to cancel the entire project. Our solution? record the entire song in an open garage and then add over the top COVID-19 precautions like chemical suits.
Finally, we needed to add at least a little bit of melodrama for a song like this, so Macy is wearing her prom dress :)

One thing about living in Santa Carla I never could Stomach.. all the damn vampires.
You're a vampire! I knew it! So what are you, the flying nun? You're a creature of the night Michael, just like out of a comic book! You're a vampire Michael! My own brother, a g-dang, s-sucking vampire. You wait 'till mom finds out, buddy!
😄😂👍🏻
Death by stereo
They're only noodles Michael.
I told you to never come in here. Wild kids.
Never, NEVER underestimate the power of an Alto who knows what she's about.
Edit: Her name is Macy and if she ever joins a band in the future, I will be buying their album.
Me too.
Agreed 💯
This is a pretty good cover of the song but it little to opera and not dark sounding like the original.
@@lovejen01 l like what you've said there Chuck, I came here from a YT video of the original and see what you mean. I absolutely love this one to bits though and it's the beauty of a good song, performed well: you can put it out there and then people will make of it what they want. 🙂
What’s an album?
One year later and still come back to listen to this song. Her voice is mesmerizing to hear. Without a doubt the best version of this song yet.
Better than the original
👋born in 71 so I was an 80's kid..I'm still convinced it was DEFINITELY the best time to grow up ..having said that this group did justice to this song and im so impressed!! WOW👏 👏
I was born in 86 and I so wished I coulda had my childhood in the 80s not just toddler and babyhood cause I'm convinced it was the best too
71 also and omg we got so lucky, omg what a great time to be young !
Hmph. Real 80's kids were born in 1970.
The Millenials😊
1970.
I am blown away by this girls voice.
I think she’s the same girl (only older) that was in their cover of Tool’s “46 & 2”. Check that out if you haven’t seen it. Blows me away every time.
The singer of Sober, 46 & 2, and one version of The Pot is Kala Rose. She has her own band but I can’t recall the name.
The newest one Kala did was Crazy Horse 10 months ago I think. This singer did one of their covers of the Outsider though.
@@michaelvogel4253 This is Macy Addis. She's a little younger than the girl that did the tool cover. www.macyaddis.com and she also has a youtube page. Lot of talent at OMF for sure.
@@michaelvogel4253 That was Kala Rose. This is Macy Addis.
Imagine walking down the road and hearing this come from a garage
I'd stop and find that garage, so I could hear what else was coming next
No kidding. Unbelievable.
Only to walk up to said garage.. And it's empty 😳
They're only there at night
You park your car, get out, record using your phone from the sidewalk, and thank god for putting you there to see a random act of beauty to brighten your day.
Why it has taken me this long to find this cover is lost to me. This gave me goose bumps and took me back to the 80s for sure. Her haunting yet melodic voice is enchanting. I love this so much.
It made me wanna get a mullet and hunt some vampires, Frogg brothers forever
Chills as soon as she starts to sing 🎶
It's a great cover ! Just wonder if you've heard Marilyn Manson's cover ?? 🤔🤔
@@luisgordillo1695no I haven't
U said that a yr ago... I JUST FOUND IT! 🖤
I'm 47 years old that song and the way she sings it kinda reminds me of happier days when I was young. I've listen to this song ten times at least. Great job all of you.
“I will not lie” when I first saw this I was a little skeptical but, oh man, does she have some pipes. Amazing performance.
Absolutely Agree...What A Voice...❤️
I was not expecting that voice
She’s the young lady on 46 & 2 tools cover here....all grown up!! You could see this coming a mile away!!👍👍👍
Up feel ya there
@@bmd1825 disagree. Kala Rose sang on 46 and 2
Jumping josaphat, her voice is incredible.
@@recreatorband nothing at all dickishness about correcting the spelling in a comment praising a young lady’s singing.

If this girl doesn’t become a star, the music industry is dead.
That young lady killed the vocals.. These young people goin places
I am old and was a teen when The Lost Boys came out. The original song gave me goosebumps.
This version did exactly the same!
DAMN!!!!
Me too! Getting those goose bumps all over again!!
same!!!
I saw the movie on tv a few weeks ago. Old but good movie, I enjoyed it and this song totally reminded me of it again!
The original artist did a rework of it awhile back, under the name G-Tom Mack. Really, really good.
Check out Marilyn Manson's version.
This is the best version of this song anyone has done. Moody and haunting, and the singer's voice is exactly how this song should sound. Great job kids!
Totally agree. Amazing version
I just listened to the Chvrches cover and was like "Dude. OMF kids did it waaaaaay better."
You have to hear Manson's version
It is a very good cover, but most definitely not the best version that i have listened.
💯
I don't know how old this young lady is but... Wow! She has an amazing voice and she has great control. I hope she never stops singing.
She is phenomenal. She held that note to the bitter end. Spectacular!
Give it up for Gen Alpha.
She's more then likely 17 or 18 I am guessing and yes she has a beautiful voice..
OMF never fails to cover some of the greatest songs ever created, and they do a damn good job of recreating them. The only Cover band that I like.
Corey Haim is smiling ear to ear in the heavens with a sound this good I am sure he heard you. Well done A+
Yes he is. With pride and joy!
Master disaster what he's dead
@@curtislowe3598 he died 11 years ago man, RIP
@OMEGA.TRON66 Drugs, took another young life.
@@airborneleo5589 oh I forgot about that.
That first line that came out of her mouth "blind boys don't lie" gave me chills!
If the 80s was a song , this would be it❤
Ok I’m genuinely blown away!! Growing up in the 70/80s with this song and hearing a cover like this! Wow amazing 😈🔥
G Tom Mac (who did the original) is promoting this video on his FB page.
G really loved it.
Amazing cover.
My favorite to date. ❤
Macy has a beautiful voice and the kids did an outstanding job. Kudos to all.
O'Keefe's Music foundation, thank you for giving these kids a place to go study music. Also, thanks to all of the booster's or the people who have donated money for these kids to play.
Right!!
These kids rock they have great taste in music this the best cover ever I don’t care for Marilyn mason version whack
IT IS PHENOMENAL
I absolutely love this girls voice beautifully done
3:10 - 3:20 ... DAMN, what a Voice. Best Cover of this Song I've ever heard
Make a fucking grown man cry. Y'all keep it up. FOR ALL OF THE REMAKES OF THIS SONG THIS IS LITERALLY THE BEST TO THE ORIGINAL.
Her voice is perfect for this! ❤️ The kids sound just like the original! Well done little ones!
no way ~
Yeah definitely the song is great performances on point what really nailed me with all those little kids in PPE cuz of the messed up situation we're in
Amen brother.
Have you heard their other cover of "I Still Believe"? Made me go and buy the movie.
80s and 90s so damn good that they are still making remakes of that generation. Thank God I grew up in it.
I’m at a loss for words..That was incredible..She has a killer voice..
I have goosebumps and am literally tearing up. God how I wish I was a millionaire because I would send them so much money they would never need another fundraiser. Thank you for loving the kids and ensuring they will NOT give up on this life ❤
She gets all the nuances perfect. Very well done.
"Now you know what we are, now you know what you are. You'll never grow old, Michael, and you'll never die. But you must feed!
" Oh I love it!
I didnt think I was gonna like this cover, instead I ended up LOVING IT 😍
All I can say is WOW...... This was one of the best if not the best cover of an awesome 80's song that my ears have ever had the pleasure of hearing !!!! Never ceases to amaze me what kids can do better then most adults sometimes and this is one fine example of it . Macy has incredible vocals and you can not help but be moved by her voice and the visuals of the kids in hazard wear during these times we live in .
This is a tough song with the off beats. Everybody nailed it, very impressive work. Bravo!
The little things often go unnoticed but I rewatch them bc every kid is on point and they seem to love it. Can't ask for much more.
I feel like the lead singer could do an amazing job on Zombie by The Cranberries. She has an outstanding voice! This was a wonderful cover.
I had the opportunity to see her live. She does sing Zombie and it is OUTSTANDING!!!!
Here you are

I'm am 80s kid and lived in Santa Cruz for over a decade. This is my song! 😉
Damn young lady! Incredible!!
This is hauntingly beautiful, the fact that it is done by kids is amazing. All of you keep up the good work.
Edit: you guys should use the same look and do "Another Brick in the Wall"
Definitely 👍
I thought Miss Macy's voice was pretty damn spectacular several years ago when I first heard her sing, but Holy Shnikies!! DOES SHE HAVE A KILLER VOICE!!
. A requirement of music for me is ability to convey the feelings associated with the song and make you feel it. She has this ability.
this girl can freeking sing and wow, them kids have talent, i was worried about clicking on this, i am now glad that i did, awesome
How in the hell can anyone dislike this? Awesome job guys! Loved it.
I loved the original song when I first heard it as a child while watching the Lost Boys, but her voice is just so haunting it drags you in and I am finding that I love this version so much better and to add in all these other amazing children or should I say musicians because that is what they are. O'keefe just keep doing what your doing every child in your program is so gifted.
That young lady has an incredible voice.
If you haven't already, listen to her singing a cover of "The Devil and I" by Slipknot. Better than the original IMO.
@@michaelb1761 I second that!
check out her band backhand blue with fellow omf kids
Her voice is incredible
Girl gotta a hell of a voice! Big things in her future. ROCK ON!
Wow! The singer can really give ya chills!! Well Done young Lady!!!!
Ive watched and listened to this over any over again and wow just wow she's my hero WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is the best cover version ever of this song
If you don't feel something when hearing this song, you may be dead.
wishing i could go at that time.... needs to find " how to build a time machine for dummies " manual :):)
Or as they say in Santa Carla, undead.
I'm pretty sure even the dead will enjoy a song this well done.
Undead ..still feel something ..SHOCK She Owned this song
When this sog comes on I'm signing
I don’t think everyone realizes just how epic this is !
There I was expecting a butchering from the theme song of the greatest film ever made and I’ve been totally blown away!! Never judge a book by its cover absolutely fantastic!!
In the words of David slightly altered:
This cover will grow old people and will never die… but it must be listened too!!!
I love this song so Mutch even this version so epic
Ive probably listened to this about 50 times today. It keeps giving me goosebumps. I have also tried listening to some older covers of this song. Nope. This one is it!
I'm in awe!! It made me tear up .. goosebumps the whole 9 yards
66 years old and I'm blown away. Awesome
Not knowing what the original sounded like, this version is awesome. That vocalist's voice is simply AMAZING.
Of every rendition of this song I have heard (and believe me, when I say I've lost count), *this* is genuinely ****ing *amazing.* I don't know which factor is more chillingly sweet; the fact that those kids got together for it, or the voice on the young lady doing most of the singing.
Kind of makes me wonder if they're actually teaching music at that academy, or preparing these youths for "life of eternity" (pun intended, by the way). Lol
Are those maggots on the lunch trays?
@@byerenny if they are, let's hope that a kid named David doesn't give them to one names Michael.
Why did you censor the "fudging"? :P
I’ve heard some good covers of this song but this definitely ranks top three.
This girls voice ...its it. Its the voice.
after listening to the original for 3/4 of my life i think this is my new favorite version. her voice is something this song has been lacking.
good job young lady.
The lady’s voice is amazing.
Her voice is haunting and did this great song justice. I am never disappointed when it comes to the musical talent we have in children these days.
I'm amazed by this young woman's vocal range. Great performance!
One of my family's favorites. She blew it out of the water. The kids are amazing!
When she used the original singers pronunciation when she sang black house will rock, i knew she knew exactly how this song should sound. They did a damn fine job. I usually never listen to a cover more than once. This is an exception
Wow...all great, lead singer is awesome... Lost Boys beast movie too
This organization has such cool taste in music. Listen to them on Spotify
That sound you hear is my jaw hitting the floor!!! I've heard several remakes of this iconic song and this one is easily the best. That girl has some serious pipes and the rest of the band is amazing!
I absolutely love maci addis
Her vocals are phenomenal. Great choice for lead vocals
And I agree with one thing Macy has an absolutely stunning voice.
Love thay singer. Sounds like a female Maynard James Keenan
DAMN! Did NOT expect her to sound like that. Absolute PERFECTION!!!
Hey from Holland...born in 1976..this was my of my favorite movie!!!AND LOVE THIS!!!GOOSEBUMPS!!!JUST LIKE I HEARD THE ORIGINAL BACK IN THE DAY!!!

Such a classic, so eerie. She did a banging job. They all really brought this one alive.
Happy Birthday, Macy! This song will never not rock!
The Lost Boys soundtrack is EVERYTHING! GREAT JOB! 🤩👏👏👏😍
Oh my, oh my. That was sensational. Dare I say, better than the original, and the original is one of my all time favourite songs. I can not give this enough credit. What an amazing voice, I knew she could sing but the emotion in the voice. Astounding!
Macy has a crazy good voice. The keyboard parts were spot on despite some of the difficult timings. Fantastic cover.
Listen to her cover of Slipknot devil in I she has a powerful voice
I stumbled on this by accident and am blown away. This is, by far, the best of cover of the song that i've ever heard.
Listen to her sing a cover of the Devil In I on OMF. It's better than the original by Slipknot.
I was a young teen when I first heard this, watching The Lost Boys in the theater - hearing this... gave me shivers that even the original can't - AMAZING !
You know the voice is amazing when the first vocal chord sends shivers down your spine
Wonderfully done!! Probably the best remake I have ever heard anyone do!! You kids blew it out of the water. Young lady's voice gave me chills!!! Keep up the great work kids, you all are awesome!!!
Omg her voice is perfect!!!
I disagree, her voice disrupts the haunting feel of the song. She dead stops too often. This isn't to say her voice is bad, just not the right performance for this particular song. The kids do a great job faithfully recreating the original feel though.
Omg her voice is heavenly. All these kids rocked it. Truly beautiful cover.
That voice...goosebumps!
O'Keefe, god bless you for giving the wee ones the gift of music! KIDS YOU GUYS ROCK! (p.s. I have the tool songs on my "Dad still rocks it" playlist!!)
Dang!!! The girl has a big powerful voice. O'Keefe Foundation is a blessing to humanity.
100% pure talent the singer and kids have the voices of angels 👼 truly amazing
Damn her vocal tone is bad ass and perfect for this song! Epic!
My God!! What incredible vocals!! She never disappoints, always gives me goose bumps. I absolutely LOVE to hear this girl sing.
Pure EMOTION
I would love to hear more from this young lady. Do you know what else she sings or her name so I can search?
@@jeremy81073 Macy Addis.
It's in the description
This young lady is so talented.
Wow. I'm impressed!! They did it justice for sure.
It's wild seeing these children perform this when chances are next to zero they've never seen The Lost Boys and don't have any comprehension of the iconic flick.
The grandchildren who have no idea how iconic their grandparents were lol.
Still as haunting as the first time I heard it.
Hands down the best thing to come out of 2020!!
These kids are crushing it. Wow, what a talented bunch!
I might have listened to this recording over 100 times. I've listened to many of other songs too. There is something about Macy and this song that is so perfectly in tune. I cannot even listen to the original of this song but this recording is almost like meditation.
Wow these kids did it better than the original
Nailed it. Loved her Slipknot "Devil in I" too, listen to often.
I just popped back AGAIN to YT to hear Macy's wonderful voice. Such a talented and beautifully feminine woman.
Good Gawd that singer can carry a note and her lower register is so impressive!
