- LRM Online's Gig Patta chatted with actress Gigi Edgley for the 25th anniversary of Farscape.
Shout! TV will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the cult-
classic television series Farscape with a marathon airing on March 19 on Shout! TV and the 24/7 Farscape channel beginning at 11 am PT / 2 pm ET. The marathon will feature an exclusive introduction from executive producer Brian Henson and include all-new interview segments with Farscape stars Ben Browder (John Crichton) and Gigi Edgley (Chiana). The marathon will air classic and fan-favorite episodes of the series curated by Ben Browder
and Gigi Edgley.
Additionally, Shout! TV will be introducing new commercial break interstitials to the Farscape channel in celebration of the anniversary, including trivia, production memories, and more featuring Ben Browder and Gigi Edgley.
Farscape follows astronaut John Crichton as a freak accident during an experimental space mission catapults him across a thousand galaxies to an alien battlefield.

I saw her at the Tidewater Horror Con last year. It was at a hotel in Virginia Beach (but not on the ocenafront, not even near the ocean...). She was walking around in a pink beach shirt, short shorts and flip flops. Honestly, I thought she was either a guest at the hotel just seeing what was going on or someone's hot mom. I didn't realize who she was until I saw her later at her table! We had a good laugh about that. And Spencer Wildling, who played Darth Vader in Rouge One and the alien guard with Peter's Walkman in GotG, took our picture. He's so tall that the angle just looks weird!

Love Chiana's character design and everything Gigi brought to it. From the accent to the jerky movements, to her purr/growl thing. She's gorgeous, and she still lives in my heart.
Gigi is still stunning and an amazing talent, she brought such a unique character to the show.

Given the rampant hunger for streaming content in the online universe, it amazes me that this franchise hasn't been picked up by Disney, Amazon, Netflix or "fill in the blank" yet. There's already a very large fan base that is still expanding 25 years after the final episodes. All the hard work for a series like this (ie character development, casting and production design - etc) has already been done - plus the Peacekeeper Wars left all kinds of plausible routs to the story continuing - I would love to be a writer on that show! I'm hoping that it already has gone secretly back into production, and this celebration is just the beginning of promotion for the new series. PLEASE!!!
Given the BS Disney puts out these days, no thanks.

I always really appreciated her body movements. Its really cool to hear that she came up with all of that on her own. Its so rare for a protagonist alien to move and speak so alien. I always imagined her as a bird lol, she seemed to always want perch up on a table haha
Chiana is my favorite character. Gigi nailed the character so well.
Browncoat here. Farscape, independent producers, studio, and fresh actors. Brilliant writing and the acting chops of these players were magnificent. But, just like Firefly, the story has been told. A reboot could never satisfy. Waiting for the next generation to produce something as good.
Story for Firefly has never truly been told. One movie and half a season?
There are always the children of protagonists and antagonists to continue the saga😊
The trick is not to remake. Time has passed, so it needs to be a whole new story in the established world. There are so many jump off points to be had.
Gigi was a monochrome character in a very colorful world. I loved her almost feral animalistic alien portrayal. I still watch the series, and the Peacekeeper Wars. Having it stream non-stop on YT makes sure I get my Farscape fix, whenever I want it.
Farscape was unique in that the human was the alien rather than a member species or part of the expanding human universe.

One of the greatest shows ever…
Farscape was truly unique. It combined, silly, serious, bluntly rude, kind and heartwarming, brutal, surprising, and just about everything else at times. The only aspect I didn't appreciate was the anti-science or ignorance of science. I re-watch it every now and then.

Chi'Ana!!!! I'm currently finishing all seasons of Farscape for the 3rd time! She's still so gorgeous and talented!!! One of the MOST attractive and deep characters in sci-fi history!!!
They could use the original cast and hand over to their children so to speak and have them do cameos

They really should do more while the cast is still on Earth. Virginia Hey is 71 and still looks good. I think she is the oldest. They won't be around forever.

Chianna and Zhaan were my favorite Farscape aliens. Crichton was unexpected, but also awesome. Aeryn... speaks for herself. Just a glorious cast. Even Scorpius.
Love the show/movies and had to work to get my wife to watch. Once she did, she loved it.

Unique, funny, adventurous, imaginative. Are the words I use when describing Farscape. A show that seriously needs to be revived and pick up where it was left off.
I have ordered the complete Farscape DVD and I am watching season 2 right now.
Loved that show. Watched it again not long ago. I think I've watched Farscape more than Firefly. Lol
Farscape is one of my favorite shows, and since I have the entire series on DVD, I still occasionally binge watch it. Additionally, unlike most shows dropped abruptly, they came back and closed out the series with Peacekeeper Wars. I wish they didn't go with the usual trope of killing off one of the main characters but, since they didn't actually show Dargo dying, if they decide to bring back Farscape, they could say he was captured instead of killed. I can still picture Ms. Edgley as Chiana and no one else doing the character justice.

25 years oh brother hard to imagine how it been that many years since it finished. So many fantastic stories a wonderful science fiction series that had many insightful characters and ideas about wormholes and traditional aliens and their political ideals and religion a little phenomenon of 25 years a huge thanks to them for entertaining us all. It still outthere in reruns and worth remembering Jim Henson who dreamt it up and his legacies to science fiction across all media.
There's still a place for it to return a mammoth return as a movie or as an animated movie possibly. There is a way it could return as audio stream stories like Big Finish or similar? Would love to see a next-generation spin-off. FARSCAPE Regeneration next-generation?

Wow Gigi is still looking smokin hot. I loved this show and the original ending pissed me off when Creigton and Aerin got fragged and then it ended. I was like "IS THAT IT??? THEY CAN'T DO THIS!" ended the show on a cliff hanger. So glad when they came out with the Peacekeeper Wars to finish the story. But i am stoked for the possibility of new episodes or movies. I cant wait!!!
Just met her at Megacon in Orlando. She was very kind and humble. Loved meeting her.
Others in comments have said mostly all. Farscape characters were real to me, to include Pilot and Rigel. But Chiana, oh my!

In 2024 the world needs MORE FARSCAPE. Not as an escape! But a reminder that we humans have so much to live for.
Farscape was/is a great show. One of the last before the collapse of quality entertainment.

She's such a sweety, and the fact that she loves Farscape and the Dark Crystal, my all time favorite movie, makes her all the more fantastic. Let's hope with all our hearts that DISWOKENEY, the destroyer of franchises, doesn't pick up Farscape. In any case, if it's ever picked up again, woke will ruin it. So perhaps it's best to leave it alone.

When I saw Gigi on Star Trek Continues, I fell in love with her.
Love this show.I always wanted them to do a follow up to the Peacekeeper Wars.My only fear is if they did it now the writing would absolutely terrible and agenda oriented.So I will be happy watching the originals over and over again.
Her character was easy to fall in love with. The perfect seductress. I had never seen Ms. Edgley without her makeup. Even after 25 years, she is still stunningly beautiful.

Hard to believe it's been 25 years, I've actually been re-watching the show, Still love it, Gigi looks great she can def still pull off Chianna, Maybe Chi should have her own series, there is still a story arc there, just saying
I loved that show & was pissed when they abruptly ended it, & after fans complained, they did a better ending because the story wasn't finished. Syfy network in those years did that to a few of their really good shows for some reason.
Cancelling Farscape was such a foolish mistake, but Syfy is good at making mistakes. It's crazy to me that it didn't get picked up elsewhere at the time, even if it was a bit delayed. If only Netflix/Prime was around at the time huh?

farscape is the best sci fi
They took what should have been a 5th season and mashed it into a 2-part TV movie. They can call it a miniseries, but it's still a 2-part TV movie. It was better than nothing, but not as good as a 5th season would have been.
It equates to 4 episodes of a normal season, so 22 reduced to 4.
She is still just as cute as a button.

I'd love to see the show return. But the problem is, it wrapped up pretty well. Nobody should be after them anymore, so they won't have to stay off the "beaten path" like they did in the original show. Thus, the strange encounters would be minimized. And with a kid along, they are going to be even more careful about where they travel. You could have some of the other characters be the focus of pursuit, of course. But again, 25 years have passed, so that would be a hard sell that they are all still together and running from whatever. had it happened at 5 or 10 years, such things could have been pulled off; the actors and actresses wouldn't have looked all that different, so you could have said less time had passed. But for 25 years. That is going to be a really hard comeback to write.

The show started light hearted for the most part, got very dark by the end, I think they could have kept it going using more humor one liners etc.
