I’m getting my braces 😬 tomorrow and for everyone who is talking about wether or not it hurts when I’m done ✅ I’ll say what happened to me and how it felt so everyone can compare the two so they know what to expect. Day 1: it’s been 4 hours it hasn’t hurted until now and I took some medicine eating feels different, it feels uncomfortable putting it on but it doesn’t hurt at all I didn’t talk differently I don’t think and other than that everything was normal. Day 2: The pain is literally killing me in the bottom jaw it was good in the night but, HORRIBLE when I woke up because the medicine 💊 wore off I’ll come back to let you guys know how it goes in school 🏫. Day 3: I took some medicine but it didn’t hurt the at much, when the medicine wore off it didn’t hurt it just felt weird sometimes and hurt when I bite. I’ll come back in a week 😊 Edit: It’s been 3 months 😅 But anyways I haven’t felt any pain at all from day 3 after day 3 all the pain went away, the doctor messed up and I had to get the wires all over again (they weren’t supposed to do that) because of that I had to get a new wire and the new wires hurt, but I kept hitting down so i could feel the pain and could build up my pain tolerance for next time, either way the moral of the story is that it doesn’t hurt or anything and don’t worry about it you’ll be fine and I believe in you 🫶🏼, after the 3 days it doesn’t hurt AT ALL then you get used to it, most of the time I forget I have them on so you’ll get used to it quickly The only thing I’m worried about is the yellow spots or white spots I don’t remember how it’s called that’s the only one of my fears because I don’t want that to happen 😭 But other than that I believe in you, it won’t hurt after the 3 days you’ll be fine, and don’t worry too much, 🫶🏼
I also had braces around 2 years and to be honest after 1 month of starting this treatment you will be completely able to handle all the pain. And the interesting thing is when you see the changes in your teeth you will be very happy. And at the end of the treatment you will get a beautiful smile😁❤ So all the best everyone who are going through this journey. ❤
I finally got my braces at 50 years old. Yes they will be uncomfortable and yes you have to adjust your diet, I even lose some weight. Every time I look in the mirror and see improvement it makes it worth while. You will be okay good luck and SMILE .
I'm getting braces in 2 months! I'll keep you all updated every now and again :) Edit 1: 23rd Jan. Heyyy again! I get braces in 4 days now! It was about 5 weeks ago now but I went for a "pre braces appointment" where they took a digital impression and a few x-rays! Not painful but a bit uncomfortable in the digital scan 😅 Wish me luck! Edit 2: 27th Jan: I got braces today! It didn't hurt when they were putting them on, the glue tasted a bit wierd though, it doesn't hurt very much but I did take medicine. I went straight to school and only ate very soft foods for lunch and haven't eaten anything else yet 🥲 28th Jan: They hurt... ALOT!! It is very tender and quite sore when I eat. I can eat stuff tho 29th Jan: It doesnt hurt that much right now but it is a bit sore when I eat. 3 brackets are loose 😮😮 28th March: Hey!! I got them tightened today. They addead a spring that is a bit sore and my wire is kinda pokey... Not too bad in terms of pain tho ❤❤ 20th May: I got them tightened again. I have broken 6 brackets so far 😂😂. 27th July: I have had braces for SIX months bow and I got another tooth attatched (it was set really far back) IT HURT ALOOOTTTT. I was crying in the floor in pain (Ikr) and it has moved about 2mm 😮😮. I hope it is less painful 😅😅 15th September: Hey again!! I got them tightened again and they say I can get them off soon if it progresses well 🎉🎉. I'll give u another update next appointment ❤❤ 10th Nov: I went again and they said I would be getting them off early next year 🎉🎉 Idk how I feel as I kinda like them now 😂😂 4th Jan: I GET THEM OFF ON THE 8TH MARCH 2024 🎉🎉🎉 I will miss them tho 😢 7th March: Tomorrow, I get them off TOMORROW!! Kinda nervous as people say it hurts. Final update tomorrow 😅😅 8th March: Well, that was a journey!! I got my braces off earlier. It didnt hurt, just was a bit wierd with the drill. hey yall i got my braces 2 hours ago and the process wasnt hurtful at all. after that it was hard to eat but speaking wasn't a problem. AT ALL. there is slight pressure. NOT PAIN. i have ceramic braces (just so you know lmao) anyway i will update you all tomorrow. edit- 1st day of braces- surprisingly I HAVE NO PAIN AT ALL. im not saying this to comfort yall but still, i have zero pain. there is pressure but i dont feel that. Yeah, i can feel that there is something on my teeth cause when i close my lips they..you know. NO PAIN. guys there's nothing to be tensed okay. Just eating is a problem, like i have to push it to the last molar and then chew. it hurts a bit but im sure it wont last long. day 3- OKAY GUYS, I HAVE NO PAIN AT ALL AS I SAID. but the braces are cutting my gums.Make sure to get wax okay? i will meet you all after a week. ALRIGHT. and there is no worry..braces are completely normal 1st week- It's completely normal, i dont even feel them anymore. I am going to get my lower ones ina few months. As a person who had braces, the pain will be with it. Also don’t overthink when your teeth is changing, your orthodontist knows what he/she is doing. Plus, it’ll all be worth it when you get it off and see your beautiful teeth❤ Also after braces are off, WEAR YOUR RETAINERS.. I had people who didn’t wear their retainers as instructed and their teeth shifted back… P.S. I don’t miss having braces😭😂
Because of a sad delay, I got my last dental cleaning 3 months ago and in 20 mins i m gon be put the braces on. I pray it will go well and that nothing s wrong.

Hey im not an orthodontist but since i got braces you should know be careful when eating before getting braces bc i and many other ppl throw up easily so dont eat very much food so you dont throw up while getting braces
Heyy everyone... I recently took off my braces after 2years.. and I am soo happy to see my teeth in line and with no gaps.. At the starting it feels weird and it would pain not a lot..but a little more than lot.... After 2days it would be normal.. And whenever u go to a monthly checkup.. they will Definitely put pressure on your teeth to allign it..that pressure they put on you right? That will be causing pain but it vanishes after 2 or 3 days... You would even forget that you are wearing braces...You'll easily gett used to it So it's completely fine.. and nothing to afraid or worried for...So be happy alwayzzzz
@@Arthub_24 nope i was worried about things like that too. Just removed my braces two days ago (after 2 yrs) and i can tell u, it just makes ur face more symmetrical ✨. If u are worried about issues about how itll change ur face, u can talk to ur dentist and theyll help u!
I’m getting mine tomorrow 😢 Update: got them today and they were not sore at all!! But they did feel like there was pressure in them, and it was weird trying to eat lol
I only got the top ones, it didn’t hurt Just put chapstick before so ur lips don’t get dry The only kinda annoying part was having ur mouth open for a while but that even wasn’t that bad because it had something to rest ur mouth on ]also only the first day it hurt a little bit so I ate soup and like soft stuff And then the first week it doesn’t hurt it’s just uncomfortable to eat But u get used to it Also take advil before u go to ur appointment
For me my first day in braces was like a two out of 10 only a little bit of soreness, but on days two and three it was like a six out of 10 because I had more soreness and the wires were feeling more pokey but after that I adjusted to the wire and the pressure so overall I would give the bed about a four out of 10 and it’s really not that bad. It was only two days for me.
I got mine 2 weeks ago so heres some things you might wanna know: Its not painful the first few hours but after that its a bit uncomfortable. The second-third days are the most painful and you really wont be able to eat. Stock up on soups,jello,smoothies, mashed potatoes, and pain killers. After those days its easier to eat but wait about a week or so before having actual meals. And if you have a low pain tolerance, i recommend having 1-2 ice packs with you when you get home and while you sleep to put on your cheeks, it helps a lot
Had to wait 8 years for braces, now I'm about to get them in two weeks, but now I'm thinking of not having them as they change your face shape and don't wanna risk it. On the bright side i have nice teeth anyways... Just not sure if i still want them.
I’m getting braces tomorrow !!!! I’ll update how it goes + I’ve had an expander for about 2 months now 1st day: It doesn’t hurt right now! It just feels like tiny rocks are touching my mouth. When they were putting on my braces, it hurt so bad, especially the cheek retractor. I’ll continue to update. 2nd day: IT HURTS SO BAD. ESPECIALLY MY BOTTOM TEETH. I CANT EAT IT HURTS SO BAD. 1 month: I forgot I had braces because it’s like nothing. There’s really no pain after the 1st week, it’s just so much food gets stuck in my braces. Anyways I’ve already noticed my teeth are shifting.
Got my braces yesterday this is actually uncomfortable and I can't eat properly Im jealous of everyone because they can eat so good and me just staring on them and I can't eat my food this braces actually made me skinny many of my aunt saying that braces can make them skinny so they are planning to have one too also my teeth are not in good position and I broke my braces kinda panic butT they fix it again and told me that don't eat hard foods again but yeah I'm so jealous I want to eat like steak but I can't so if your planning to have one be prepared for it, it won't give you good health but good teeth🙃

i get my braces on january 2nd (3 days !) update from 06/12/23, please remember to brush beforehand and applying a ton of chapstick! update from 01/05/24, also remember to apply tons of chapstick if they give your top and bottom sets at different days! i k ow ir seems obvious but i forgot to do that! also remember if u have a loose bracket or you know you'll get another bracket etc! update (today is january 7th) anyways they didnt hurt that much, only hurt the day after Update (Jan 16) we are slaying now, if you are getting braces in the future don't be worried, they arent as bad as how people say it is update (june 12) i've gotten my braces changed 3 times now and no pain at all! i think in april, that i got my bottom set and they hurt, but not as much as my top when i got them in january. good luck to anyone on their braces journey! update (january 5, 2024) i just hit the one year mark and let me say, as a person with a low pain tolerance, it doesn't hurt that bad. it will get better over time! i also just got rubber bands and those hurt too but i just hit the mark of them having no pain (a week...) ! super super excited to get these babies off and good luck to those who are getting them ! 💜💜💜

my braces experience for any1 whos getting them soon n wants to know how it feels after i was done w the braces, it felt so weird closing my mouth n i cld barely close it n the dentist put some things on the inside of my mouth like spikes or smth so now it hurts bc my tongue keeps on touching it😭 it hurt only an hr after i was done w it n it kept on hurting for like 2 days even w pain killers/medicine, the pain got worse. it was so weird eating n it wld hurt if i barely even bite anything, also my dentist gave me this thing thats like sponge or smth to bite on on the blue gel thing for the jaw or smth im not so sure how it works but i js bite on it for 30 secs on each tooth both sides, n i had to get rubber bands that wasnt fun💀 they hurt so bad even in schl its so uncomfortable, but dw the process of braces itself putting them on doesnt hurt at all its js the aftermath of the whole thing thats painful. we talked to the receptionist at the medical centre where i got the braces ab the pain n she said it’ll hurt for a few days then its supposed to go away, so dw its js a matter of time u js have to take deep breaths n not worry too much ab it bc in no time all the pain will go away n hopefully u’ll feel sm better. also as per the process itself, ik many ppl may be feeling nervous n thats completely understandable bc i was nervous asl when the day came to get them n i cldnt stay still i felt like throwing up. so dw all ur worrying will go away soon n the process isnt hard at all, it takes time ig it took me arnd 1 hr or smth. also the pain n ur whole experience cld be a whole lot diff than mine, its js cause my teeth r crooked n so messed up so i had to get a lot of stuff which double the pain n i have to take them off after 2 yrs, but for u it cld be a lot diff also for me i cant even chew gum for prbly til the 2 yrs r over or smth, n many ppl ik w braces can chew gum so that kinda js proves that my situation is a lot diff than others which means ur pain cld be less so dw abt it much :) also sry if im worrying any of u im js tryna be as realistic as possible to get ev1 ready for anything that can happen😭 but best of luck to those getting braces soon, hopefully the pain wears off soon if u feel any pain, you’ve got this💛
I got My braces 1 year ago the process is not painful at all but some hours later it is very painful. But after about a week you will get used to it and when you take them of you will feel like you’re missing something.
@@sabilasheikh8930 it depends bc if you have for example underbite it does bc your jaw kinda gets (dragged). but in my case and many other cases no. So if your just getting braces bc your teeth are bad placed or something like that it doesn't. And even if it does you don't really notice it and you just become even prettier. I hope that helped.

Getting braces and an expander today (6/21/24) and I will be updating Day 1: The process really didn’t hurt at all and it went better than I thought. The pain throughout the day was bad mainly in the expander and then the actual braces but it wasn’t that bad with pain medicine id say 3/10 Day 2: woke up a little sore but way better than I thought. I’m only eating soft foods (applesauce, smoothies, yogurt, pasta) but that’s just for now. Also I can’t pronounce certain words with the expander and I get easily annoyed by that but I heard that goes away so fingers crossed pain level 2/10

I have a question actually I got braces 5 months ago and they are getting aligned but gums got overjet more then before both in the upper and lower.. but my dentist put thiker wire in the lower teeth.. is there any problem?
It is possible that your orthodontist is waiting to address your bite until your teeth are in the correct place. We cannot say if there is a problem or not because we do not know your specific treatment plan. We encourage you to bring this up to your orthodontist at your next appointment.

Ok it’s the next morning it kinda hurts but not really at all and btw braces do not make you talk different Ok here is later that day my mouth really hurts they said to take like “headache medicine” which I did but there is a lot of pressure and it really hurts and wax is my bsf right now because my mouth hurts so bad and I shouldn’t have this but I do I have a wire sticking out here is my check in over all Ok I forgot to update it bug today is the 5th day and my mouth feels pretty good with no pain unless eating.

As a person who had braces, the pain will be with it. Also don’t overthink when your teeth is changing, your orthodontist knows what he/she is doing. Plus, it’ll all be worth it when you get it off and see your beautiful teeth❤ Also after braces are off, WEAR YOUR RETAINERS.. I had people who didn’t wear their retainers as instructed and their teeth shifted back…
P.S. I don’t miss having braces😭😂

Hey im not an orthodontist but since i got braces you should know be careful when eating before getting braces bc i and many other ppl throw up easily so dont eat very much food so you dont throw up while getting braces
I heard someone else say to eat a big meal before getting braces so you won’t be hungry and have to eat after you get them😭 idk who to trust now

Heyy everyone... I recently took off my braces after 2years.. and I am soo happy to see my teeth in line and with no gaps.. At the starting it feels weird and it would pain not a lot..but a little more than lot....
After 2days it would be normal..
And whenever u go to a monthly checkup.. they will Definitely put pressure on your teeth to allign it..that pressure they put on you right? That will be causing pain but it vanishes after 2 or 3 days...
You would even forget that you are wearing braces...You'll easily gett used to it
So it's completely fine.. and nothing to afraid or worried for...So be happy alwayzzzz

How Do you Fell now and how did IT feel, did IT hurt alot? I'm getting mind in 2 weeks :)
For me my first day in braces was like a two out of 10 only a little bit of soreness, but on days two and three it was like a six out of 10 because I had more soreness and the wires were feeling more pokey but after that I adjusted to the wire and the pressure so overall I would give the bed about a four out of 10 and it’s really not that bad. It was only two days for me.

I got mine 2 weeks ago so heres some things you might wanna know: Its not painful the first few hours but after that its a bit uncomfortable. The second-third days are the most painful and you really wont be able to eat. Stock up on soups,jello,smoothies, mashed potatoes, and pain killers. After those days its easier to eat but wait about a week or so before having actual meals. And if you have a low pain tolerance, i recommend having 1-2 ice packs with you when you get home and while you sleep to put on your cheeks, it helps a lot

Had to wait 8 years for braces, now I'm about to get them in two weeks, but now I'm thinking of not having them as they change your face shape and don't wanna risk it. On the bright side i have nice teeth anyways... Just not sure if i still want them.

1st day: It doesn’t hurt right now! It just feels like tiny rocks are touching my mouth. When they were putting on my braces, it hurt so bad, especially the cheek retractor. I’ll continue to update.
2nd day: IT HURTS SO BAD. ESPECIALLY MY BOTTOM TEETH. I CANT EAT IT HURTS SO BAD.
1 month: I forgot I had braces because it’s like nothing. There’s really no pain after the 1st week, it’s just so much food gets stuck in my braces. Anyways I’ve already noticed my teeth are shifting.

update (january 5, 2024) i just hit the one year mark and let me say, as a person with a low pain tolerance, it doesn't hurt that bad. it will get better over time! i also just got rubber bands and those hurt too but i just hit the mark of them having no pain (a week...) ! super super excited to get these babies off and good luck to those who are getting them ! 💜💜💜

after i was done w the braces, it felt so weird closing my mouth n i cld barely close it n the dentist put some things on the inside of my mouth like spikes or smth so now it hurts bc my tongue keeps on touching it😭 it hurt only an hr after i was done w it n it kept on hurting for like 2 days even w pain killers/medicine, the pain got worse. it was so weird eating n it wld hurt if i barely even bite anything, also my dentist gave me this thing thats like sponge or smth to bite on on the blue gel thing for the jaw or smth im not so sure how it works but i js bite on it for 30 secs on each tooth both sides, n i had to get rubber bands that wasnt fun💀 they hurt so bad even in schl its so uncomfortable, but dw the process of braces itself putting them on doesnt hurt at all its js the aftermath of the whole thing thats painful. we talked to the receptionist at the medical centre where i got the braces ab the pain n she said it’ll hurt for a few days then its supposed to go away, so dw its js a matter of time u js have to take deep breaths n not worry too much ab it bc in no time all the pain will go away n hopefully u’ll feel sm better. also as per the process itself, ik many ppl may be feeling nervous n thats completely understandable bc i was nervous asl when the day came to get them n i cldnt stay still i felt like throwing up. so dw all ur worrying will go away soon n the process isnt hard at all, it takes time ig it took me arnd 1 hr or smth. also the pain n ur whole experience cld be a whole lot diff than mine, its js cause my teeth r crooked n so messed up so i had to get a lot of stuff which double the pain n i have to take them off after 2 yrs, but for u it cld be a lot diff also for me i cant even chew gum for prbly til the 2 yrs r over or smth, n many ppl ik w braces can chew gum so that kinda js proves that my situation is a lot diff than others which means ur pain cld be less so dw abt it much :) also sry if im worrying any of u im js tryna be as realistic as possible to get ev1 ready for anything that can happen😭 but best of luck to those getting braces soon, hopefully the pain wears off soon if u feel any pain, you’ve got this💛

I got My braces 1 year ago the process is not painful at all but some hours later it is very painful. But after about a week you will get used to it and when you take them of you will feel like you’re missing something.

@@sabilasheikh8930 it depends bc if you have for example underbite it does bc your jaw kinda gets (dragged). but in my case and many other cases no. So if your just getting braces bc your teeth are bad placed or something like that it doesn't. And even if it does you don't really notice it and you just become even prettier. I hope that helped.

Getting braces and an expander today (6/21/24) and I will be updating
Day 1: The process really didn’t hurt at all and it went better than I thought. The pain throughout the day was bad mainly in the expander and then the actual braces but it wasn’t that bad with pain medicine id say 3/10
Day 2: woke up a little sore but way better than I thought. I’m only eating soft foods (applesauce, smoothies, yogurt, pasta) but that’s just for now. Also I can’t pronounce certain words with the expander and I get easily annoyed by that but I heard that goes away so fingers crossed pain level 2/10
I'm scared to get braces....I DON'T WANT IT but if it makes my teeth better then yeahhh

It is possible that your orthodontist is waiting to address your bite until your teeth are in the correct place. We cannot say if there is a problem or not because we do not know your specific treatment plan. We encourage you to bring this up to your orthodontist at your next appointment.
