I need it to casting the thin 24 carats gold material. it is difficult to inject wax inside rubber mold with a thin model. I am always casting 24 carats gold.

Hi Ben, CAD is now a trend for custom jewelry design. If you are completed new to jewelry CAD, I will recommand you check out my online course for Intro to Intermediate Jewelry CAD Design at www.pjchendesign.com . it will guild you from very basic to intermediate skill with Rhino software in a very systematic way. Once you finished the course, all my UA-cam videos will make more sense to you and great resource for additional practices.

Very good question. I use RhinoGold for jewelry CAD design because it has convenience stone function. But as an educator, I use Rhino barebone for everything most of time. 1. Not every one able to afford those expensive plugin, and many of my student are beginner of Rhino user. Students can get Rhino in a very affordable price. 2. Most thing you do in Matrix or RhinoGold, you can do it in Rhino, because they are the plug-in for Rhino. It is just faster if you use those fancy plugin. Matrix and RhionGold library has a lot of ready made model to modify, but if you don't know how to model an object fundamentally, you may feel stuck if the shapes/forms you want is not in the library. If you are working in jewelry industry and use CAD for 8 hours a day. I highly recommend you get either Matrix or RhinoGold. That will help a lot on working speed.
Will I have to have Rhinogold to do this course? would basic Rhino 6 be enough?
