Hi, thanks for the very instructive video. Could you tell me if it's better to 3d modelize the groove on the prong in order to set the stone or to cut it with the traditional tools?
Dear PJ, All of ur tutorials are very helpful for the learners. Your way of explanation and designing is very crisp and clear. I have a question. What is the difference between Rhino gold and Rhinoceros software? Which one is better for jewelry designing?
Rhinogold is a plugin for rhino. so you need to have rhino license first before rhinogold. beside huge price difference, they all share the same command. but RG is for jewelry specific program. however, you can do everything with rhino only. but if you are using the program for business, i will suggest to go for RG or MatrixGold.
Hi PJ, You're doing an outstanding job. Can you please tell me how much time it takes for an intermediate level expert to 3d design a ring like this. I'm planning to start a jewelry business and need to know how much output the designer will be able to give me
It is very hard to said. It really depends on how much you practice and your understanding for 3D model. There is a saying that it take 3000hrs to make a beginning to professional for any software.
Hey PJ. Hope you are well. Random question. If just bought a phrozen sonic 4k. I'm using the purple castable formlabs resin but I have not a successful print yet. I'm pretty sure that I am setting the printer up correctly. The print keep getting on the bottom of the vat. I have set my exposure time to 8secs. Any advise would be great. Thanks. Love your channel.
There are many factors to impact the prints. I will suggest you join the Facebook Phrozen group. There are a lot of related topics that has been discussed. I found a lot of good information there.
Hello Mr.Chen, May I ask you a question? When you tried the 1st way, you didn't like overlapped prong so you show the other way. The reason you didn't like it was that it could cause a problem in casting...am I right? Thank you in advance!
I have several video discussed on why boolean failed in PJ's Q/A Session playlist. you can check them out. It may be just because the seams are aligned.
@@PJChenJewelryDesign understood, I'm just curious if any of the things you use are native to Rhino? I'd like to design my own ring but I only have access to free versions of AutoCAD, Fusion, etc

It depends on how bit the prong is. I will suggest to at least making a mark if the prong is too small.
ThxZ mam. U teaching is very nice.

not really for the casting, but for the appearance. I don't like the outline that wasn't smooth enough.
