Thank you for another great video. These tips were really useful. I make a lot of headdresses for theatre and film, but using straw, sinamay, wire, glues, stiffeners, lace, ribbon. I'm now learning 3D printing, rhino and jewellery making techiniques to give my headdresses the next level. Very glad to have discovered your youtube channel and courses.
thank you very much for this video! l have been working on this for 2 years now, and l have learned a lot from you .. keep on doing your videos ! l love them! take care!
Perfect video and way of explanation. I design model airplanes (plastic kits), but I'm thinking of trying the area of jewelry design... And every piece of information from 3D jewelry design is very important to me.
FANTASTIC Presentation & Knowledge. I could not get away from watching it completely. THANK you again. Your explanation is detailed yet clear. I came across your referral on a web site down under, amongst the bush fires etc going on here. I just felt an urge to review and although my time as a student last 3 years at Melb Poly with one more to go, did make me think um well, lets see how long you keep my interest. YOU DID MORE THAN THAT. Thank YOU again XOX.
There are few books for jewelry design/sketching. and there are some for jewelry making. but I don't know ONE book that talk about mass production. people learn from experience.
what great tips. you kept me motivated during this epidemic and I don't know how should I appreciate your generosity ❤️️ I only wished I was in another country to join your website courses 🤦🤦
Thanks for sharing your knowledge. You are a great teacher and I hope you be my mentor in improving my jewelry skills. I have worked on the bench for about 30 years. I am interested in learning about 3 d printing and casting. I will like to enrol in the course . Please advise. I am coming from London UK.
Thanks for your Tips, very valuable, i just have a question about the first tip which is what concerns me for now, about the metal thickness, i can't find good information about how much thickness is the minimum, i know it depends on many things like the structure and the place of the metal, but can you share some general tips on how thick should the metal be at the least to hold it's structure
@@PJChenJewelryDesign Thanks for your reply, and your content which is very useful but can you share your experience about how thick should be the metal (specially gold) to be pintable and makeable at least in 2 situation, first in a Mesh structure and second on it's own, as in a single simple ring, to be useable, like can a single wire of 0.6mm hold it's structure on it's own in a ring shaped or can you suggest a way for me to find out about these matters? is there a book or specific article i can look into
Excellent video! Thanks so much for all of your advice. I do have a question, is .4mm the radius, diameter, or length that you suggest for bead settings?
Coming to Rhino6 after being decent at matrix9, any chance you will do a video on setting up Renders on Rhino 6? Also, great videos, quick concise, and very helpful when trying to transition from matrix.
Amazing.. truly thank you! You are so clear and concise - I watch all of the videos and am sincerely considering signing up for membership and even purchase the other courses. I do a lot of ring prototyping with my 3D printer from home, but I am considering getting a 3D printer that is more suitable for ring prototypes. Do you have a suggestion on which 3D printer I should get for these purposes ? I currently have a PRUSE MK3 (I’ve had it for architecture school, and have since graduated - as I mentioned I don’t think it gives me the finite detail i look for in the rings for a prototype. Thanks so much PJ.
I have review for Phrozen Shuffle 4k on my channel. You can check on that. It really depends on your budget and resolution requirement. i don't have a set answer. The facebook group "3-D printing and Casting for Jewelry" has a lot of good discussion and samples on different printers from many jewelry professional. you may want to check on that as well.
How do yo set the model considering the shrinkage rate of casting? do you increase de thickness or just scale the model 5% up? PS Thank you very much for your videos you have a fan in Mexico
@@PJChenJewelryDesign Thanks for your quick response! I already saw the video you recommended me it was really very useful! the answer is "5% bigger" so scale the model 5% right?
I have not use it personally, but heard a lot of good thing about it. Rhino 7 will have similar function. You can download the Rhino 7 WIP to try on if you have Rhino 6 license.
After buying your gem setting course I'd say you're probably the most valuable research online for learning Jewellery CAD. This should be fantastic.

0.4mm in diameter will be the smallest prong/bead I suggest
