On the download page, adding a few “empty slots” is there so you can add your hotspot info in the CPS

With my older ID-51Plus I edited the downloaded both files like you show, but then edited a .csv to contain both DV and FM but only the Texas repeaters, with a few in Arkansas where I have family. Customize your .csv

You can scan nearby repeaters and as you travel it will scan the ones in the area. It is neat to see new repeaters on the scan as you drive.

How do you scan the nearby repeater list? I’ve been trying to figure out how to do this. I have the repeater list saved on the sd card and I can pull up nearby repeaters using gps, but can’t figure out how to scan them.

I would never have guessed the DR section would let you search for and access FM repeaters. Thanks for this video!

The *.file versions are Apple data files. Just have to either ignore them or use terminal to get rid of them!

Thanks for this help. I always wondered how those radios work ...as a truck driver I drive coast to coast I'm looking for a radio that I can input channels and then as I travel around it searches out nearby repeaters. I'm looking at the icom 5100 ...is set up the same as this handheld?
I would be interested in seeing, a video on how to download channels and how it searches them by Gps

Exceptional video for learning your radio...... I still haven't found a setting that would allow the change that just occurred for Daylight Saving Time to be automatic on my Icom Id52.. Only solution was to manually adjust UTC offset . Have you found a way ? Do you adjust your radios twice a year? N8OHV

on my IC-7100, I manually entered gps coordinates. When i press near repeater it says none found. Have any ideas about that?

Is ICOM really that good? I am new and I'm currently on TGIF network using a Retevis. I would love to have a nice radio that has this function. But is it worth it? Like an everyday radio? The repeaters in my area are a little quiet.

Is this your everyday radio? Do you use D-Star?

Yep. Works for a lot of Icom radios. The menu and file structure should be the same. It's the same on my 705 as it is on my ID-50. The 52 is no different either.

I was going to mention this in your last video, but it appears to not work correctly anymore. The problem I run into is it's not a complete list based on location, even using long/lat. I need the north east region and it would only include the islands, south, and midwest, and end there, none of which I need. Almost like it was just spitting out the full list up to your memory limit. I know it used to work because this is how I loaded my ID-51 and ID-31 a couple years ago.

Yeah, it's certainly not a complete list at all. Better than nothing though. Some have said you can get a list from RepeaterBook. I haven't looked into that yet, but I'm sure it would be better. I wonder if this is only Icom repeaters?

I can't see based on screenshot of CSV file. Is it listing GPS coordinates for each listing? I was wondering if this file can be edited to add/remove repeaters to suit ones needs. I will try to open up a file also to see if this is even worth doing.
Too bad the link you shared didn't have a distance setting. To narrow the search to not include ALL surrounding States.
