i've been using this bag since march this year, and immediately upon seeing the title, i thought "he must be talking about the buckles" ...yep!! mine do the same thing, i imagine every bag must do this. i'm concerned one day the plastic is going to break. i didn't even realize the buckle wasn't metal when i ordered the bag online. otherwise, i agree it's a very nice bag and i like the outer material. i use it for my bus commute to and from work, and it's been great. i like the luggage passthrough for stuffing a couple reusable grocery bags into. i ordered the black bag, which was advertised as having white accents (zipper pulls etc), but when i received it, all of the accents were black. just want to make note of that because it was disappointing to receive something that didn't match all the of the product photos i had seen.
Thank you for that review, very helpfull. Thats indeed a big flaw especially for a bag at that price. I will still buy it and replace the buckle. It would have been nice if you tried it on !

Thanks for watching! yeah if you get a new strap (there are much nicer straps available!) then yeah this would be a pretty nice lightweight option!
