I avoid North Face jackets. I've owned three of them, and tried on probably more than a dozen others, and I've come to the conclusion that NF just doesn't make good winter coats. For instance, when I moved up north, I wore my old NF Carto for a couple of winters. But there was absolutely no insulation of any kind in the hood or the pockets. Having bought the Carto when I lived in the sun belt, I didn't realize how important it is to buy a well-designed winter jacket. To be fair, the Carto probably wasn't designed for winter use, despite having insulation in the body sufficient for temperatures in the twenties. But a lot of their coats are indeed proper winter jackets, and even those don't measure up. Still being ignorant on such matters, I bought a North Face Gotham after settling into my cold new home. There was fur on the hood, after all, so it just had to be warm, right? It didn't end up being so great. The hood and collar were under-insulated and far too open, which forced me to always wear a cap and scarf. There were big gaps in the insulation of the sleeves, too. The McMurdo I didn't even bother with. A four-hundred-dollar winter parka that short should include a drawcord at the hem. Period. Also, I wonder whose idea it was to put the drawcords for the hood INSIDE of the collar, which is really bothersome. I don't want to look like I'm trashing North Face in general, so I'll end this by saying that I love my Gordon Lyons fleece jacket.
Stumbled upon this video because I'm considering getting a North Face and your comparisons/descriptions are immensely helpful. Wonderful video, instantly subscribed.
Nuptse jackets are for fashion.. and in 1996 it was a staple in NYC only worn with hoodies or thermals… all some one has to do is google pictures from the 90s
There are a lot of cool puffer jackets but there is something magical about this North Face Retro Nuptse. You have to try it on and if you ask me then you have to buy the biggest size you can find and then wear it boxy and cropped using the elastic cords at the bottom of the jacket ❤
Bro should I buy Himalayan or nuptse? My parents are willing to buy it but I don’t wanna waste their money if it doesn’t keep u warm. It gets hella cold where I live at (below freezing)
North face is awesome. The product is great and they stand by their product. A few years ago the zipper busted on my partner’s jacket, he sent to to them and they fixed it for free. My north face jacket is 15 years old and still in great shape.
Я в 0 градусов по цельсию в нупце свободно в майке гуляю в безветренную погоду, все субъективно, а по внешнему виду она мне очень нравится я родился в 1984 мне такой стайл по душе
@@MensFashionFiles thank you, I am 179 cm tall and weigh 85 kg and because of the size I can't really decide whether I should take medium or large? Medium seems a bit too short for me and large is very wide on the arms
North face is just a cheaply made expensive fashion brand today . If you want a serious mens down jacket for cold weather , you won't buy into the North Face brand 🤣🤣🤣
What's your go to North Face down jacket? 😮

McMurdo solos🙌
Bought McMurdo Parka after watching your vids.

Ive been wearing the HMLYN jacket for 5+ years now and still going strong
Is it warm enough for 15 Fahrenheit ?
@@williisaiasperfectly fine
Best review / comparison video I’ve seen ever thank you!!!
All of us who grew up in the 90s still have the puffer. We didn't pay $350 either who knew this jacket would double in price and be popular again
I just got it Brand new for $200 😂 $350 is insane 💯
North face is tripping, for $250 it better be a winter jacket 😩
Great review!
This was an excellent review

I still own a TNF Nuptse jacket from 1995. Are they still in?
Just add a fleece hoodie with the jacket. That'll keep you toasty in any weather
what about the diablo 2 down jacket?

I'm not understanding the hate at the 96 nuptse. I wear it when it's really cold, and I feel just fine, that's not a fall jacket lol.
How are you feeling cold in a Nuptse puffer when it's just -7 outside? Bruh.
Right 😂
I had a Nuptse and it was too warm even when freezing outside 🤷🏻
The Nupse is hella warm even when it’s freezing 😂 but 10/10

how? doesnt their warranty say only if theres defect? I thought it said they won't fix if you broke it accidentally and it was your fault?
How tall are you my brother?

I'm on the look out for a new nuptse, Sir whats your height and weight for referrence? Thanks
5'10 160 lb
does your size M feel okay if you're wearing a hoodie or layer underneath? or does it feel too tight if you aren't just wearing a shirt?
For the Nuptse puffer jacket*
I can layer a hoodie underneath. My chest size is 37”

5'10 (178 cm), 160 lb (72 kg)
@@MensFashionFiles Thanks!
A comparison of the woolrich jackets would be nice
I’ll add that to my list!
what color is the first jacket btw?
it's called smokey brown. I just linked the product in the video.
what size do you have for the nuptse?
Medium

I want nuptse
What about national Geographic utility puffer jacket hoodie with fur
I wear my North Face because im scared of getting mugged when I wear my Canada Goose outside in Chicago
Pussy. I’m in Chicago and have zero issues wearing whatever.
Bro 😂😂😂 lived in south side forever, grow some
scared of wearing canada goose because the patch and jacket are ugly
The North Face is now being worn by the Chavs on the street so it's become The Chav Face 😂😂
Bearskin 3.0 tactical review thankyou
North face has the highest quality down jacket for the price
The nuptse kept me warm in freezing temperatures you didn't even use the cord at the waist lol horrible review
I agree the hood is shit but the rest is fine for me
The nuptse jacket is as overrated as air forces
Noooo, its sexy
if you buy a jacket is should be based on the climate where you live not about anything else lol
