    I have the green/yellow version of this bag and I love it. I use it 5/6 a week for the gym and fit everything comfortably and also for travel. Perfect for weekend getaways and I've even taken it on a 7 day trip.

      A 7 day trip?? That's great to hear. Im taking a 4 day trip and have been deciding between the 32L and 42L and was worried that the 32 wouldn't be enough.

    I have this bag nog for 3 weeks.
    I travel every week to a different part of the world, with mostly 2 big bags and a backpack. I bought this one, because of trouble in airports, lost luggage .... This is the best travel duffel I ever had. I can easily keep 4 day's of clothes in there, including all my daily use objects, for example laptop.
    When my luggage doesn't arrive in the next city, I can still survive a few day's thanks to this amazing carry-on ! :-)

    Already bought this duffel/backpack couple of days ago and can’t stand waiting to recive it. All the reviews I find in the web make me sure I did the right thing. What I mostly like in this “bag” is the flexibility of use and I am already thinking about adding a custom belt to hang at the loops to be able to carry it messanger style just in case. Thank you for your review

    I have this bag. And I like how it can compress. I use it as a back up bag when travelling since it can compress. When i travel with a carry on luggage i make sure my stuff can fit inside this backpack. And when i go home with some souvenirs or some stuff from shopping. I can transition my stuff to this backpack and all souvenirs in the carryon luggage.

    This is similar to the new Bamboon to the Moon duffel bag. I seen one at the airport, however, the reviews said the older version is better.

    I just got this delivered yesterday and am pretty excited about it, even though I'm not going anywhere. The feel is so soft and a pleasure, unlike the super rigid regular Base Camp, and even the Patagonia Black Hole (I'm a slut for Patagonia).
    I was really confused by the cord sticking out at the water bottle pocket, there's literally no explanation about it and I just assumed it could strap something down if it fit right. I have the Hidrate Spark bottle though and it's flat like that Yeti, so there's nothing really to attach it to.
    I got the same problem with the divider coming loose, and it could've really been solved with some elastic attachment loops instead of the paracord, but I guess that's one more material to add to the bill. The shoe pocket is a joke, I only wear 11s and it was a struggle to get my Allbirds in without smashing them, but even the width is tight. I'm right there with you regarding the laptop compartment, but since it's only a 32L bag I can't even imagine packing enough stuff where the laptop would be at risk of bending. It's basically just like your old-school JanSport, Fjallraven Kanken or Herschel Pop Quiz with just a sleeve.
    Just a point about the storing/compression: mine came stowed away in the shoe compartment and I think it, like most things, lends itself to fit better folded into thirds instead of rolling. It ends up more like another dense packing cube instead of a half-full bag with space at the top and bottom, and bulging in the middle.
    Overall, 32L quickly fills up and meets its limitations. I could see a tablet instead of a laptop, a foam roller and a change of clothes and shoes, maybe a barebones toiletry kit; or a couple of books, laptop in sleeve inside, headphones and a jacket if you're a student. A nice road trip or beach bag would be cool too, but $125 is a bit steep for an auxiliary bag.

      in few days i'm going to brazil for 40 days with the 42L as my one bag travel of choice, it fits all i need comfortably. i had tried the 32L b4 and it was indeed too small for 2 books, 1 macbook pro 13", few shorts and shirts, toiletries, headphone, camera, and the puff jacket i'll have to fit after takeoff from berlin. i'm allowed to carry only 10kg, otherwise with the 42L i'd still have space for more items. so far happy with the bag, seems versatile, will be also using it for work gear, short trips etc

    • @PackHacker2
      @PackHacker2  2 роки тому +3

      Hi Lisa! Technically, it doesn't meet most carry-on requirements due to its length. You likely wouldn't have an issue on most U.S. airlines if you under-packed it slightly, but it's at your own risk. Thanks for the comment!

    Great vid! Been curious about this bag. Seems like the outside is made from less rigid material compared to the ‘regular’ TNF duffel, is that correct? Looks more like it’s in between proper duffel material and flyweight type material.

    • @PackHacker2

I couldn't work out what you were saying haha I want to see what that's like too, I bought the 62l voyager duffel in blue it looks good but I find when I put lots of stuff in it it's really heavy and it kind of sinks into itself at the bottom so not sure if I want to look at something else...

    I personally love backpack duffles. The Patagonia black hole 40L duffle is my favorite and my benchmark when comparing it to new bags. I was really excited about this when it was announced but after watching your review, it does make me wonder why TNF didn't just attach the top of the backpack straps to the bag itself and not the horseshoe lid? It seems like a pretty annoying aspect of the bag. That's basically what almost every other backpack duffle does so the main compartment lid can open unobstructed.

  • @BobbiPhantom
    @BobbiPhantom 3 роки тому +3

    When I saw this duffel irl, the first thing that came across my mind is that it would a great duffel for car travel, because you can stack them relatively easy on top of each other with the more squared-design. What I don't like that TNF did here is making this duffel try to act like a backpack. There are no grab handles, the shoulder straps apparently took that role. And the laptop compartment is disappointing. If you add something like that, at least make sure it's padded and strong enough to take a beating without losing comfort.

    • @anirudhghantasala591
      @anirudhghantasala591 5 місяців тому +1

      I’d actually rather not have a padded laptop compartment cuz I usually don’t take my laptop travelling, and I’d rather maximize the space in the main compartment. It’s kind of a good to have if I do ever take my laptop, which I might use with my laptop sleeve

    I’ve been really curious about this bag. I recently got the extra small base camp duffle or TNF’s original duffle and it’s been perfect for what I want. This one seems to have a few more bells and whistles for organization which is cool. I’ve been trying to figure out which one my little brothers would like more so these reviews are really helpful. Plus I just like watching reviews.

    I like some things of it but I still do prefer the original basecamp duffle more minimalistic with compression straps, load lifters better strap positioning… the only thing the could move in the original xs is the outside side pocket and put it on the top (like the s) thanks for the nice review 😊

    • @Makross_82

      I saw this at the north face store and I did mesure it with a tape measure is 19x13x8.. that the 18x14x8 that uses frontier or spirit the actual size of this bag by the north face store is 22.7'' x 13.8'' x 8.7'' what I am trying to say is that measurements 22x13x8 the north face uses are a bit bigger that the actual size. if we don't pack it all the way to the top is can fit in the personal item metal box perfectly.
