Good stuff! I hadn't thought of using the thin craft foam and scoring it as I usually use foamcore in a similar fashion. I could save peeling off the paper and just use the thin foam 😃. I have small electric drill. In the past when I've messed up a conversion. If I can't fix it I've drilled a fatal wound in it. Then added it to terrain, for a corpse.

You could probably use sprues, especially some of the funkier GW ones, as frameworks for trees and tree branches. If you were doing a sci fi setting you could also use long straight pieces as conduit along walls.
I recently used some sprue from Wargames Atlantic that had the company name printed on it. I clipped part of the company name out, stuck it onto a sprue pole, drybrushed the letters to make them stand out, and all of a sudden, a street sign for "Atlantic Avenue!"

I'll cut sprues and glue them to plastic vegetable containers to use as small buildings in science fiction games. They look great as exterior pipes and ducts.
One mans trash is a hobbyists gold. I have several large boxes full of 'rubbish', it WILL be useful one day. Save money on texture paste, with polyfilla (I think you call its packle in the US) with a bit of PVA and ink, throw in some sand or dirt, static grass etc depending on the look you are after. Gloss varnish in the mix makes a great wet look mud.

One time in my hobby life, I had so much sprues, I probably could´ve rebuild my House from them. Luckily I keep only 5% these days around of them. And that includes snippets and sprue gue solution.
Have you checked out Magnagothica Maleghast too? It's another really neat and flexible necromantic-themed skirmish game ruleset that your terrain and minis would suit to a T

Craft foam sheets. Normally I use it for greebles and maybe shingles but haven't thought it would be good for walls with supports. Nice.

If you use an old-fashioned meat grinder you can very quickly turn piles of sprue into great looking rubble.
