- UPDATE: I can not recommend using a polyurethane adhesive! Use an MS Polymer glue (like Bostik MSR) instead! We seem to be having issues with the foam breaking down - maybe due to the adhesive.

I was reminded of Liberace -- wasn't it he who claimed (with evident justification) that his guiding principle in all aspects of life was that "Too much of a good thing is exactly the right amount"?
I think Eva's right to imply that mindset seems to have become the norm in the modern day US, although possibly she's young enough to think it's just human nature...
@@Gottenhimfella Human nature is a thing. Civilization has been wrestling with it for millennia.I liked that Eva commented, with humour, on the Old World's "living on a small foot" but was self-confident enough to insist on her aesthetic.

Thanks for the advice. I cannot see, that you pushed the panels together while glueing? Did you only use the click system on the long/lengthwise edges?
I am about to glue down today ....so a bit 'nervous' 😂 and thinking about the technique every minute. Good Winds
@@roaringforties2007 Good luck :) All I did was glue the entire underside. Insert a panel at an angle and push it down, forcing it to lock in place. I hope that makes sense :) You'll do great! It's very easy to install.
Those lights will make it easy to find back to Athena when you go on a christmas bender

Just wanted to say that this is the best produced video so far since becoming a couple's sailing channel. Eva was hysterical in her honesty! And Mads of course came through with a super spiffy result! Loved it and I think it is great to see you two figuring out the tough transition from lonely guy DIY channel to couple's sailing channel. Helpful tip: flip your flooring piece over, then use your circular saw to get a clean edge on the finish side.
I might add you can get laminate jig saw blades that cut on the down stroke.

Those LED night lights are going to make a night and day difference.
Literally.
Mads, a score cut first when cutting laminates with a circular saw, Makita do a panel saw specifically for this but a regular circular saw is quite adequate. You can also get a reverse cut jigsaw blade for worktops to avoid any possibility of scraggy edges. DC-DC converters use power so would have used a relay instead. We have two similar DC-DC converters for USB powering - 24-12v reduction and they have been working well so far (18 months use). The floor and lighting looks great, but it pales into insignificance against the Xmas lights! Well done Eva, and reading the instruction manual was inspirational, who'd have thought to do that, well non of us blokes at any rate! Great video.

I think I never said it before. But Mads you are a legend! We have just start cruising our sailtrip around the world. But before we could leave we had a couple of boatprojects to tackle.
Your channel gave me the confidence to do a lot buy myself so a big thank you for that.
BTW you almost have a better boat then there is ever built. So congrats on that. We hope to meet you out there somewhere on a nice anchorage some day!
