  • In this video I will go over why I chose the Bora wheel spacers to complement my newly repainted rims outfitted with the Cooper Discoverer STT Pro. When it comes down to wheel spacers some people do it for looks, some people do it to clear suspension components after installing larger tires, the bottom line is that there is an measure of risk installing these and you absolutely need to do in the right way but even more importantly you need to make sure you purchase name brand components, manufactured by a reputable company who will stand behind their product! Quality control and material used in the manufacturing of these spacers is paramount. DO NOT GO FOR CHEAP!
    ******WHAT I USED**********
    Note: I am in no way associated with Bora and I purchased these spacers with my own money after watching many reviews and collecting many advice from people like me who enjoy modifying and outfitting their LX470 or Landcruiser 100 series for overland travel. The advice I give are in no way professional and only reflect my own experience. Ultimate the products you purchase and how you install these products is your responsability.
    I purchased my Bora 1.25" from the manufacturer directly and was extremely pleased with their support and sales follow up. They took about 4 weeks to come in.

    Hi! Watch your video, i bought a set of 1.25" bora spacer for my 1998 100 series land cruiser but don't know the proper torque for the spacer to the hub and the wheel to the spacer. I heard in your video saying 97 pound for the spacer to the hub but don't know the torque for the wheel to the spacer. Thankyou for your help.

      I torqued the spacer at the specs Bora specified and then the wheel to the spacer is as per Lexus specs. I do 100lbs personally.

    after the first 5-10 miles you have to re-tourque....what happens after the next few miles driven do you have to do it again, then again and again etc

      I have re-torqued after 10-20 miles, then did prior to leaving for my big Colorado adventure over the summer. A few days ago and 4500 miles later (many of these on trails) I checked them all again and nothing moved!

    I have a stock front bumper and if I use these tires with the stock rims. Do you think these tires will rub against it? Keep up the good work!

      Are you lifted ? without any lift they might rub and you might have to cut that bumper a little to offer clearance. I am not lifted and on AHC, however I do have an ARB bumper. at full lock I get a slight run inside the fender well but only if the car is off camber a little and the wheel is tucked in. I hope this helps. These tires are absolute BEASTS off road. on the road they are more noisy than ATs but you'd have to expect that our of MTs. I can tell you that it's not bad and I drove about 4500 miles over the summer on them and no issues. They are my Daily drivers on the truck.

    I do not see on the install instructions where it says NOT to use threadlocker. Where did you see this?

      The instructions with my BORA 1 inch spacers stated Loctite will void the warranty and Custom Offsets doesn’t recommend using it either

    • @DeepSouthOverlander
      @DeepSouthOverlander  2 роки тому

      I actually called them and they really were firm about NOT using thread locker. What you should do is make sure you check the torq EVERYTIME you rotate your wheels. After I installed my spacers I re-checked them at least twice after 50 and 100 miles.

      @@timprince1726 As of a couple days ago, Taylor from Bora told me a small amount of loctite is recommended but only blue and certainly not red. Just installed 2" spacers on my Kubota. The old instructions said not to use it but this has been revised.

    At some point I had the volume turned all the way up and struggled to hear what he was saying, just had to move on. 😢

      I am sorry this was indeed shot before I got a dedicated mic and the garage is loud.
