Very helpful video! I recently moved to a 55+ community, downsizing from a 1700 sq ft home to 1100 sq ft. I lived there for 30+ years, 20 as a single mom. With kids a lot of stuff is accumulated. It took 3 months to downsize my possessions making decisions more quickly than I would have liked. It was brutal, physically and emotionally. Problem was the house sold before I found the new house, so I could only keep what could fit into a storage unit. That was a blessing in the long run because it caused me to really prioritize. I got rid of about 80% making the move much easier.

This is not a petty subject. It id a realization of what you no.longer need & who can now use it. It is hopefully conservation. Alot of hard work!

I read this advice, and I think it’s wonderful. Pack all the stuff you love and discard/toss/donate the rest.

How nice of you to offer this informative presentation
My husband had alot of collections which has complicated my time.
Think.of resources in your community. Our Danish artifacts I donated to the Danish-American club.
    People who might like the
    collections like relatives & friends.
It is amazing the feeling of more freedom and deciding what we keep or rid ourselves of.
    Thank You!

I am 58, going to be moving from the city. Just finished my last items. If anyone wants to ask me a question would be more than happy to answer. First, we started our first 13 years of marriage in the military. You talk about moving. And that was hard, we thought, till we got out and moved averages 1-3 yrs. We bought a house in 2015, and now have an 18 yr old all raised. So we are done, time to try to enjoy something as the world kind of falls apart. Retirement, who gets to do that anymore? So onward and upward! Blessings to Everyone! You can do it!! You won't be sorry!

This is true, the more we have taken out of a house to empty sold 100% quicker out of all our homes over a life time. I don't want to leave a bunch of just stuff that our kiddo won't want, bc we moved out both parents before and after death one 1 in state and 1 out and it was horrible, I would rather do like you said physically able-kids just for the most part want the cash-not the stuff-they have gone on with their life, or give to your kids while they and you are still alive and let them have now and enjoy now

Be careful in taking in boxes from other people or places because unwanted critters can stow away in them like silverfish or worse roaches. All cardboard will eventually attract silverfish because they eat paper and glue. Not fun to find your valued pictures and letter peppered with their poop and eaten edges
