The star cup is by far the most nostalgic cup in my opinion. I remember my dad unlocking it for me (because I was terrible then) and because it was new, that was the only cup I had played. Especially tracks like daisy circuit and Koopa cape because I wasn’t good enough for maple treeway and grumble volcano
You know seeing this list actually kinda makes me wanna play Mario Kart Wii again and make my own list since I have no idea how I’d rank all the cups in this game lol
This makes me wanna see something like an "Every mushroom cup ranked" list, I love seeing the small little comparisons you make between the cups and how they differ each game, (plus would be cool to see opinions on which game did the theming the best) maybe one day once more are ranked
@@tankxander127 I actually saw both those videos a few days after my comment, I still really like the idea and hope to see more people do it especially cuz they're all so different would love to see more content like it
Unpopular opinion: Visually, the OG Grumble Volcano is on par with the MK8 remake. I just love that ominous purple skybox, as opposed to the red MK8 skybox that makes the track feel more chaotic.
Yeah, Mario Kart Wii's track layout is absolutely off the rails both in terms of consistency and complexity. The mushroom and shell cups do start out a bit slowly, but everything from that point on is absolute fire! I honestly don't mind the Mario circuits, I find them pretty fun, and I'm a huge fan of Shy Guy Beach.
You pointed out something interesting in wgm, on the rail bit on how you can just, explore unlike the other games (except double dash), it makes the tracks feel so lively, and as i put it, makes it feel like you're not supposed to be driving there to begin with which adds so much more to the tracks, instead of being a generic racetrack, even for tracks like moonview highway and daisy circuit, the stair shortcut and the fact that you're go-karting on a literal highway, it makes it part of the reason why this and double dash are my favorite mario kart games, also, long live dolphin dasher.
I agreed with basically every cup’s placement on this list! My favorite cup is the Star Cup for many reasons. Not only was it nostalgic to unlock a new cup for the first time and being excited about new tracks, but the new tracks it included blew me away! It starts pretty normal with Daisy Circuit. Then Koopa Kape amazed me with its speeding river and diving into a giant pipe! Things get even better with GORGEOUS Maple Treeway (being a pun for “freeway”) and spiraling on a maple tree with weaving branches and bouncing on a net to the finish line. How could this get better? By giving you the most difficult challenge of all, the grandest of finales: Grumble Volcano. My favorite Mariokart track of all time! The glowing lava, the sky wiggling from the heat waves, the floating embers, the fireballs raining down onto the track from distant volcanoes. The best gimmick has to be pieces of the track falling apart as you race! Sometimes you’ll get stranded on a sinking piece as the track becomes more and more difficult to maneuver. It has one of the most famous ultra shortcuts where you can jump onto the side of a rock and fly off to the other side of the track, cutting your lap time in half! The ominous music, the sounds of fire crackling, and the road becoming bumpy and unstable! You could be doing so well in the Star Cup and get close to achieving a top rank only to lose it all at the last track and for some reason I LOVE that! This cup showed how amazing the tracks in this game could really be! I had moderate expectations when first playing the game with Moo Moo Meadows and DK Summit, but the tracks in the Star Cup really amazed me as the tracks were getting more challenging, more creative, and more mind-bending with the opening cutscenes showing off towering structures and monumental turns! It’s the most nostalgic cup to me and it’s what made Mariokart Wii my favorite Mariokart! It was also my first Mariokart, so I was astounded! The Special Cup really is special as the tracks are basically the Star Cup on steroids. It’s my second favorite cup with Moonview Highway being my second favorite Mariokart track of all time! The speed, the glowing lights with the midnight atmosphere, the cars swerving everywhere, the sounds, everything! It’s another phenomenal track, I just wish it had a shortcut or two as it’s pretty linear. The Star Cup is my personal favorite, but I can absolutely see why the Special Cup is placed just above it. Also the Bowser’s Castle soundtrack being a slowed and distorted version of Maple Treeway’s SHOCKED me! I’ve been playing this game since 2011 and I NEVER noticed that until just now watching this video! Wow! This game keeps on giving! 🏁 Great rankings, great video! 👍🏻👍🏻
My favorite is the star cup, Koopa Cape, Maple Treeway and Grumble Volcano were each one my favorite track of the entire series at some time of mi life, currently is Grumble Volcano
@@mubzytv well ofc Wii is better than 8, 8 barely had a Battle Mode at all and a pretty mid character roster 8DX on the other hand, WAY better than anything Wii could offer like ever
@@mubzytv Sorry i dissagree. Yes the original 8 that yes i would agree but 8dx no. 8dx has a better battle mode. More modes and no forced teams. All charcaters from wii and almost all of wiis new tracks are in 8dx. 11/16. The only things i will give wii over 8 but its really a preferance. Wii just has you pick a premade kart while 8 has you build it it just comes down to which you prefer each have their own pros. But i prefer the premade karts and 2 its more skilled based. Wii is not the only skilled based game 8dx can be skilled based but wii is the best win it comes down to skill base vs luck. So yeah other than 8dx No team battle mode and more battle mode modes All wii characters plus ones wii dont have such as petey kamek pauline wiggilar lakitu crossover charcaters 11/16 wii tracks Retro tracks were more reminged than wiis were. Less cooy and paste. Ribbon road added anti gravity. Moo moo meadows added glider. Toads turnpike driving on walls. Tik tok clock glider. Most tracks Wii More skill based Premade karts I wonder who wins lol.
Late but here is my rank: 8- Shell Cup (Kinda hate all the tracks) 7- Lightning (Sure it has DK Mointain, but tbh, it has the Worst BC, MC3 and an ok Peach Garden...) 6- Leaf (It maybe have the worst Desert track, but tbh, Mario Circuit and DK Jungle Parway are really good. BC3 is ok) 5- Banana (Despite having the worst track of the game (Cheep Cheep Beach), the other 3 are really good) 4- Mushroom (Ok, Luigi Circuis is not good, but tbh, all the others 3 tracks and specially Toad Factory are just too good) 3- Flower (The worst nitro is Mario Circuit, and i'm kinda bored of WGM, but this cup still is my Father fav) 2- Special (Tracks aren't that special for a Special cup (a desrt an higway, a castle...) but the 4 tracks did it amazingly! Best BC and RR) 1- Star (Sorry, but I'm a Maple Treeway fan, it's my all time fav track. Grumble Volcano and Koopa Cape are amazing, like prob in my top 20 both fav track of all time, and Daisy Circuit is awesome as a circuit.) I'm pretty sure if Nintendo called Daisy Circuit, Daisy Harbor it would be way better!
Before watching your video I ranked the cups in my opinion for comparison, and our lists were nearly identical. The only difference is I put the leaf cup at 7th below the banana and mushroom cups because it doesn't have any downright amazing tracks like Toad's Factory in mushroom or Waluigi Stadium in banana. Definitely agree with you on the whole, though. Great video!
Wii star cup is the best cup in the series imo. Daisy circuit is the best circuit yet and I love how it's filled with super mario land references, Koopa cape and Maple treeway are flawlessly designed and Grumble volcano is a great challenging track.
My opinion: 8. Shell Cup- GCN Peach Beach is easily my favorite course in this cup but the others are pretty mediocre. 7. Banana Cup- GBA Shy Guy Beach and N64 Sherbet Land are my least favorite courses in the entire game, but DS Delfino Square and GCN Waluigi Stadium are among my favorites. 6. Leaf Cup- DS Desert Hills is pretty underwhelming, while the other 3 courses are solid but not amazing. 5. Mushroom Cup- Luigi Circuit is nothing too special, but Moo Moo Meadows is solid while Mushroom Gorge and Toad's Factory are absolutely amazing. 4. Lightning Cup- SNES Mario Circuit 3 is nothing special, but the other 3 courses are among the best in the game. 3. Flower Cup- Mario Circuit is average, but DK Summit and Wario's Gold Mine are great. Coconut Mall is easily one of the top 3 best courses in the game. 2. Special Cup- One of the best desert courses in the series followed by one of the best traffic courses and one of the best Bowser's Castles and Rainbow Roads 1. Star Cup- Daisy Circuit is very solid and doesn't really feel like a circuit. The other 3 courses in this cup are absolute masterpieces though in my opinion, with Koopa Cape and Maple Treeway being 2 of my 3 favorites in the game.
Even though you called DK's Jungle Parkway "DK's Jungle Adventure", I'm not going to winge about it like your cringey, annoying brother, Albert, as I actually think that the name you called it actually sounds better than the original. And yes. I did call his brother cringey and annoying. My reasoning is that it's just what he is, constantly correcting Albert for calling tracks such as DK Summit "DK Snowboard Cross", when in reality, that's what it's called over in England. Same goes for Music Park/Melody Moterway.
9:03 lol I love the mk8dx booster pack roast there. I really don't think they did a good job with those. It's so many of my favorite tracks turned into meh tracks
I’m rating every nitro track in this game: Luigi Circuit: Worst nitro in the game. Too short, and very boring. 3/10. Moo Moo Meadows: It’s a good improvement from Moo Moo Farm. The cows are finally more than just scenery. And it has a cool ranch, almost Far West atmosphere. 7/10. Mushroom Gorge: Really cool! The idea of putting bouncy mushrooms is really great, and it’s the best way to make a grassland track not boring. 8/10. Toad’s Factory: Probably the best track from any Mushroom Cup. This has various obstacles, a cool concept, and the music makes for a climatic finale for the Mushroom Cup. 10/10! Mario Circuit: Mid. It’s just a figure-8, but I like the little town. 5/10. Coconut Mall: Obviously, great. A great music, a cool concept, a nice vacation atmosphere, and so much chaos. 9/10! DK Summit (yes I call it DK Summit, DK’s Snowboard Cross is too much of a mouthful for me): Peak, and the word is appropriate! It’s exhilarating, with a great music, a cool concept, and nice trick potential! 10/10! Wario’s Gold Mine: This track feels like a roller coaster, and as a coaster enthusiast, I love that. It has a good layout and cool scenery. I love it. 10/10! Daisy Circuit: This is not a circuit. This is peak! It has a romantic, almost relaxing atmosphere, and the scenery with the sunset is sooo pretty. 9/10! Koopa Cape: Great track! What carries this track is the tunnel, and as WGM feels like a roller coasters, KC feels like a water slide. It feels actually really cool. 8/10! Maple Treeway: This may be the most relaxing MK track. It has great music, great layout, great atmosphere, great obstacles, and great scenery! There’s nothing to complain about! 10/10! Grumble Volcano: This is a peak ominous-style track. I love how it almost feels like you’re racing in actual h€ll. It adds a creepy vibe that I love. I also like the SMB3 references. 9/10! Dry Dry Ruins: The best MK desert track. I love how various it is. The section in the ruins really elevates this track from a simple desert track to something much more memorable. 9/10! Moonview Highway: The chaotic nature of this track was perfect for MKWii. It’s sooo fun to play, with the cars, the fun layout, the peak music, and the snazzy night setting. 10/10! Wii Bowser’s Castle: This is the 2nd best Bowser’s Castle, challenged only by the N64 version. It has an ominous, almost hopeless music, and I love how it combines creepiness and chaos. 10/10! Rainbow Road: The best iteration of RR! It feels like a roller coaster, and just like in DS and GCN, that are 2nd and 3rd in my RR ranking, the action is non-stop! Tight turns, speed boosts, exhilarating jumps, and cool atmosphere. It’s the perfect finale, and all of this is topped by the epic music. 10/10!
As someone who has grown with this game, I feel I'm in the minority in regards of thinking the nitro selection here actually wasn't that stelar. Heck, i used to be really fascinated with the older MKs a while back and i even used to have the Leaf and Lightning cups as my favorites from this game (which definitely isn't a very popular opinion lmao). Still, my ranking would be something like this: (Long af rants incoming. Again, my opinion is a bit more on the unpopular side) 8. Shell Cup (Duh. Even i know it's not the greatest selection of tracks when i have Ghost Valley 2 as my standout track here lmao. Gotta note about Mario Raceway though. It might look decent at first but the track is way too simplistic, large and boring for it's own good, plus being a complete RNG track thanks to the fact you can skip a sh t load of it thanks to grass cuts being everywhere. One of the weakest Mario circuits for sure). 7. Mushroom Cup (Luigi Circuit it's actually not that bad for a beginning course and it's certainly iconic, but it's still doesn't go beyond that. Moo Moo Meadows it's just ok and Mushroom Gorge despite being one of my personal favorites, i honestly think gameplay wise doesn't really go beyond a really solid Mushroom Cup track. Toad's Factory it's so good and does so much for a Mushroom cup track (and especially one that's practically a oval) though, definite standout here) 6. Leaf Cup (I'll admit it, both Desert Hills and DK Jungle Parkway really don't do much for me. Nice theming for both but fairly boring gameplay wise. GCN Mario Circuit is a fairly underrated circuit. Despite not doing much with his theming, it visually has a kinda welcoming vibe to it (despite being from the Leaf Cup lmao) and it has a really solid and fun layout despite the weird fact that it only has a shortcut at the start. Plus, DD's circuit theme is one of my all time favorite themes in the series. It's the only circuit track I'd actually consider good here (excluding the SNES one). GBA Bowser Castle 3 is also a great track from Super Circuit that thankfully didn't got butchered in the process (*cough* DS BC2 *cough*)) 5. Star Cup (HEAR ME OUT PLEASE. Maple Treeway and Koopa Kape are both bangers, i know, but they aren't from the most consistent cup here. I often hear Daisy Circuit being called as the underrated, the standout or only good circuit track from this game, but even then i really can't see why. Visually it's gorgeous and it's definitely a track I'd play for something like that, but it really matters that much when the track only has a okay-ish layout with a bad stair shortcut plastered on it? And even for a Star Cup circuit it isn't even that good, because you have DS Mario Circuit right there as a better example (and an *actually underrated* track IMO). I don't even think the theme is that good. Luigi Circuit's theme ironically did it way better despite being very simplistic. And for the *real* unpopular opinion. Grumble Volcano might have an absolutely great theming, but the track itself is a messy, convoluted piece of hot garbage, and the main reason of the cup's low placement. Sorry.) 4. Banana Cup (Sherbet Land and Shy Guy Beach are fairly lame tracks, but this cup really got two of my all time favorites with Delfine Square and Waluigi Stadium (the best retro choice for MKWii easily). Even then, the lows here aren't nearly as low as Grumble Volcano (then again, sorry), hence the higher placement) 3. Flower Cup (Mario Circuit = Figure 8 Circuit + Chain Chomp + dumb RNG. Worst track of the game that lowers the place of a otherwise great cup here. I admitedly have a bit of bias with Wario's Goldmine here compared to other tracks, but eh.) 2. Lightning Cup (I know, the fact whenever Mario Circuit 3 is actually considered good greatly depends of who you ask, but F it, it was always a blast for me despite being very generic. And the rest of this cup got a banger list of retros anyway.) 1. Special Cup (Really the most consistent cup here regarding great nitro tracks. Dry Dry Ruins especially is my favorite desert track alongside SS's Yoshi Desert (another underrated one, lol). Moonview Highway is another fairly divisive track, but even with the weirdly incosistent layout, it's always fun to blast through all the boost panels later in the track and it really has an awesome theming. And then you have one of the best Bowser Castles and Rainbow Roads each, nuff said.) A small edit since i kinda forgot about it with all this ranting: *Dolphin Dasher Forever WOOOOOOOH*
literally the only thing that bothers me about the MK8 coconut mall is the conveyor belts, otherwise it's bursting with colour and charm. the cheese-grater stairs in the wii version honestly looks terrible af and pulls me out of the setting completely
Although I need a therapist appointment to get this opinion fixed, I personally prefer how coconut mall looks in Mario Kart 8, and I quite like the vibrant colours
13:45 I wonder if people who don’t know you that well thought you were gonna say « challenged only by the 3DS version ». Wii Rainbow Road is the best one for me tbh
I feel like for Mario Kart 8, they put all the best tracks in the Flower and Star Cups, and by the time they got to the Special cups, their ideas for the first two tracks were pretty dull in comparison
@@playerlgamer0592 Cloudtop Cruise was a good concept, just poorly executed, between the beanstalks and the clouds and the airship and that metal thing you fly onto, they just threw everything in there and hoped it would work imo
@@EclipseOfTsuki93 I unfortunately can't really argue with that, but for being 13 years since the previous Cloud themed track (Sky Garden) It was pretty solid imo...
@@playerlgamer0592 I think it would’ve been better placed in the star cup tbh, it’s a okay track for what it is, just usually we reserve the best for the special cup
Mario circuit got cut from ds and it butchered YC so bad I never appreciated a track shaped like yoshi being the coolest fucking thing ever as a kid, and the number of mario circuits in wii is tiring, plus it's ds limitation friendly so it still woulda been good
@@CaptainRillaboomArmenia I did and I don't agree with the choice, it's just way too goddamn big. I mean from the scale of it alone having that much loaded in might crash the game or at least cut the framerate way down. If waluigi pinball and bowser castle can drop frames at times there's no way a stadium track almost double the size won't
Whilst MK7 and MK8 arguably have better retro tracks, I think it’s hard to argue that MarioKart Wii doesn't have the most creative and fun nitro tracks
bruh have you ever played 8DX? The entirety of the Star Cup. Toad Harbour Cloudtop Cruise Mario Kart Stadium *(at the very least the best opening track)* Thwomp Ruins Do I need to go on?
@@P1r4n I have actually, quite a mid game tbh… Mushroom Gorge - A bit overrated but fine, it’s pretty good Toad’s Factory - Probably the best track in the game with maybe the exception of the Retro Star Cup tracks… Coconut Mall is and always was, super mid, the theming is kinda nice but layout-wise it’s good, but not amazing or anything… Wario’s Gold Mine really isn’t too much of a standout track, neither in Wii nor 8, (although it is slightly more fun in 8, It’s still just kind of okay)… Koopa Cape, Maple Treeway and DK’s Snowboard Cross are pretty damn good tracks… Grumble Volcano sucks in both versions of it so don’t bring that up as a “good track” when it objectively really isn’t… Wii Bowser’s Castle is overrated as hell and is mid at best…
@PlayerLGamer059 in what world is Grumble Volcano 'objectively' not a good track? I don't really know what you're using as your source for objectivity?
@@P1r4n oh gee idk, layout, theming, etc? Just like how for an example, the *original* SNES tracks are objectively boring and just mid layouts unless they drastically change them… Grumble Volcano is *WAY* too easy to be at the end of the Star Cup, and it’s layout is less interesting than like half of the Flower Cup… and it’s theming is one of the most generic ever, *“ooh a Volcano how epic”* Sit down Kid…
Star Cup is the best to me. Dr Dry Ruins is meh imo, and Bowser Castle and Rainbow Road, while fun, suffer from the fact that bc there are so many in the series, they kinda blend into the rest (theyre still fantastic though, probably beating out most of if not all the other versions)
By a landslide even: Mario Kart Wii has 35 mill copies sold, and Mario Kart 8 has 57 mill and it is still selling well. It will be the 6th best selling video game of all time in a few months, right after Minecraft, GTA5, Tetris, Wii Sports and PUBG.
I don't think you have much in the way of authority to criticize Mario Kart DS, because given the game play footage over your video here, you kind of aren't good at Mario Kart really. Like good video, I did enjoy it. But the game play was pretty hard to watch. Of course, if this is just gameplay you got from the internet I apologize
Wii just doesn’t have any bad tracks not even the circuit tracks, there just in cups they don’t belong in and just too many in general. This game lightning cup is almost perfect if it wasn’t for Mario circuit 3 Also give desert hills some love I love the music and the look of the track 💛 Wii star cup might be my favourite cup of all of Mario kart too 💛
For me: 8. Shell Cup (Easy last place imo. Peach Beach and Yoshi Falls are ok but Ghost Valley 2 is really bland and Mario Raceway I don't really like personally.) 7. Leaf Cup (I like DK's Jungle Parkway and I do enjoy GCN Mario Circuit. GBA BC3 I find to just be ok and Desert Hills imo is awful.) 6. Flower Cup (Mario Circuit is a decent Mario Circuit. Coconut Mall imo is really overrated and is only decent. DK's Snowboard Cross is pretty good and Wario's Gold Mine is awesome!) 5. Mushroom Cup (This is a good cup. Luigi Circuit is boring but Moo Moo Meadows beats Moo Moo Farm any day imo. Mushroom Gorge is really fun and Toad's Factory has a really cool theme.) 4. Lightning Cup (SNES MC3 brings this cup down but I do agree Peach Gardens is quite underrated, DK Mountain is great and N64 BC is my second favourite retro course is the game.) 3. Banana Cup (I actually really like N64 Sherbet Land, GBA Shy Guy is the weak track but I still think it's ok, DS Delfino Square is my third favourite retro track in the game and Waluigi Stadium is one of my favourite courses of all time in its Wii incarnation even though the DD version was already great and its my favourite retro in the game.) 2. Special Cup (This track has one of my favourite courses of all time in Rainbow Road. Dry Dry Ruins is a good Desert course. Moonview Highway is a contender for the best traffic themed course in the series. Bowser's Castle is also imo a contender for the best Bowser's Castle. 1. Star Cup (What's not to love about this cup, Daisy Circuit blows every other circuit out of the water! Koopa Cape is a really great track. Maple Treeway is one of the greatest of all time imo and while Grumble Volcano is the weakest in this cup for me it's still pretty decent. Let me know what you think of my list!
Here are My (Actual) Ranking of all Mario Kart Wii’s Cups 8. Shell Cup- GCN Peach Beach is Underratedly great, DS Yoshi Falls and SNES Ghost Valley 2 are disappointing but N64 Mario Raceway is Interesting! Sadly the Shell Cup in Mario Kart Wii is slightly mediocre and the only not good cup in the game but it’s better than DS’ Shell Cup if it’s even your name! 7. Leaf Cup- DS Desert Hills and GBA Bowser Castle 3 are good, N64 DK’s Jungle Parkway is one of the Most Unique Mario Kart Tracks of all time, but GCN Mario Circuit while good kinda ruined it from being great! 6. Banana Cup- GBA Shy Guy Beach looks so bad in this game but N64 Sherbet Land is Good, and DS Delfino Square and GCN Waluigi Stadium are Masterpieces! 5. Mushroom Cup- Luigi Circuit and Moo Moo Meadows are good but nothing special but Mushroom Gorge and Toad’s Factory are Masterpieces! 4. Lightning Cup- Even though SNES Mario Circuit 3 (My Least Favorite 2D Remake in the Game) ruins the Lightning Cup from being in the Podium, DS Peach Gardens, GCN DK Mountain, and N64 Bowser’s Castle (My Favorite Bowser’s Castle Track of all time) are Amazing! 3. Flower Cup- Mario Circuit is good but Coconut Mall, DK’s Snowboard Cross, and Wario’s Goldmine (Like Albert Boris, it’s my Favorite Mario Kart Track of all time) steal the show for me! 2. Star Cup- Daisy Circuit is very Underrated but Koopa Cape, Maple Treeway, and Grumble Volcano are Masterpieces! 1. Special Cup- Dry Dry Ruins, Moonview Highway, Bowser’s Castle, and Rainbow Road (My Favorite Rainbow Road of all time) are Fantastic! I think the lightning cup is worse than the mushroom cup for the sole reason of snes mario circuit 3 no i haven't gotten over it it's the worst track in the series Edit: you didn't put star cup at #1, your opinion is invalid

Yeah, Mario Kart Wii's track layout is absolutely off the rails both in terms of consistency and complexity. The mushroom and shell cups do start out a bit slowly, but everything from that point on is absolute fire! I hate the Leaf Cup
@@someperson3883It’s not that bad.
By giving you the most difficult challenge of all, the grandest of finales: Grumble Volcano. My favorite Mariokart track of all time! The glowing lava, the sky wiggling from the heat waves, the floating embers, the fireballs raining down onto the track from distant volcanoes.
Great rankings, great video! 👍🏻👍🏻
6:20 Bertil Auris: It’s DK’s Jungle Parkway!😡😡😡
My favorite is the star cup, Koopa Cape, Maple Treeway and Grumble Volcano were each one my favorite track of the entire series at some time of mi life, currently is Grumble Volcano
❤❤❤❤ Koppa Cape It's Number 1
I love Mario Kart Wii Star Cup more but the Special Clup is basically flawless.
I completely agree. I also love special and how great daisy circut actually is.
I just love the energetic feeling of MKWII.
Star cup and flower cup on wii is my childhood
Hey albert, I seen your ds video and i thought it was great, didnt notice you uploaded weekly, new sub here!
Star cup hard carries the game
My bad, I didn't realize Mario Kart 8 Deluxe had sold more than Wii. Thanks for pointing that out!
Sold more but not better in my opinion. I prefer Wii over 8
@@mubzytv well ofc Wii is better than 8, 8 barely had a Battle Mode at all and a pretty mid character roster
8DX on the other hand, WAY better than anything Wii could offer like ever
@@playerlgamer0592 nah I still prefer Wii over 8 deluxe
@@mubzytv Fair enough, but objectively speaking 8DX is simply better, opinions aside that is...
So yeah other than
8dx
No team battle mode and more battle mode modes
All wii characters plus ones wii dont have such as petey kamek pauline wiggilar lakitu crossover charcaters
11/16 wii tracks
Retro tracks were more reminged than wiis were. Less cooy and paste. Ribbon road added anti gravity. Moo moo meadows added glider. Toads turnpike driving on walls. Tik tok clock glider.
Most tracks
Wii
More skill based
Premade karts
I wonder who wins lol.
Yay Im excited to watch
Man, banana Cup is amazing, It is one of my favorites
Late but here is my rank:
8- Shell Cup (Kinda hate all the tracks)
7- Lightning (Sure it has DK Mointain, but tbh, it has the Worst BC, MC3 and an ok Peach Garden...)
6- Leaf (It maybe have the worst Desert track, but tbh, Mario Circuit and DK Jungle Parway are really good. BC3 is ok)
5- Banana (Despite having the worst track of the game (Cheep Cheep Beach), the other 3 are really good)
4- Mushroom (Ok, Luigi Circuis is not good, but tbh, all the others 3 tracks and specially Toad Factory are just too good)
3- Flower (The worst nitro is Mario Circuit, and i'm kinda bored of WGM, but this cup still is my Father fav)
2- Special (Tracks aren't that special for a Special cup (a desrt an higway, a castle...) but the 4 tracks did it amazingly! Best BC and RR)
1- Star (Sorry, but I'm a Maple Treeway fan, it's my all time fav track. Grumble Volcano and Koopa Cape are amazing, like prob in my top 20 both fav track of all time, and Daisy Circuit is awesome as a circuit.)
I'm pretty sure if Nintendo called Daisy Circuit, Daisy Harbor it would be way better!
Koopa Cape is always my bad luck track in MKWII😂😂😂
4:18 Bro never heard of Figure-8 Circuit
Before watching your video I ranked the cups in my opinion for comparison, and our lists were nearly identical. The only difference is I put the leaf cup at 7th below the banana and mushroom cups because it doesn't have any downright amazing tracks like Toad's Factory in mushroom or Waluigi Stadium in banana. Definitely agree with you on the whole, though. Great video!
And the music for N64 Bowser Castle sounds like the underworld.
I forgot how anxiety inducing the music from n64 bowser’s castle is
You know it’s gonna be a banger video when you hear “Hey everyone, I’m Albert Boris!”
It's the opposite when Bertil Auris opens up the video lol

Wii star cup is the best cup in the series imo. Daisy circuit is the best circuit yet and I love how it's filled with super mario land references, Koopa cape and Maple treeway are flawlessly designed and Grumble volcano is a great challenging track.

4: Banana Cup
3: Lightning Cup

My opinion:
2. Special Cup- One of the best desert courses in the series followed by one of the best traffic courses and one of the best Bowser's Castles and Rainbow Roads
1. Star Cup- Daisy Circuit is very solid and doesn't really feel like a circuit. The other 3 courses in this cup are absolute masterpieces though in my opinion, with Koopa Cape and Maple Treeway being 2 of my 3 favorites in the game.
8. Leaf cup
7. Shell cup
6. Mushroom cup
5. Lightning cup
4. Banana cup
3. Star cup

Bertil Auris: IT’S ROCK ROCK MOUNTAIN!!!👿👿👿

Hey! Love ur channel!
I make memes on my channel!
It's much more entertaining to see you be so positive of the cups in this game unlike mario kart ds.
To be fair, I also enjoy being more positive lol
I’m rating every nitro track in this game:
Luigi Circuit: Worst nitro in the game.
love all the dolphin dasher gameplay
It's the kingliest vehicle of all time lol. It both plays great..., and looks unique!
@@AlbertBoris idc about the meta dolphin dasher is still the best vehicle in the game
3 of flower cup tracks are in 8dx imagine we get mario circuit at the place of wii rainbow road 😆
I must say, DK jungle parkway is my least favourite course. And I agree with the summit/snowboard cross thing.
Still, my ranking would be something like this:
(Long af rants incoming. Again, my opinion is a bit more on the unpopular side)
Toad's Factory it's so good and does so much for a Mushroom cup track (and especially one that's practically a oval) though, definite standout here)
6. GBA Bowser Castle 3 is also a great track from Super Circuit that thankfully didn't got butchered in the process (*cough* DS BC2 *cough*))
5. Sorry.)
4. Banana Cup (Sherbet Land and Shy Guy Beach are fairly lame tracks, but this cup really got two of my all time favorites with Delfine Square and Waluigi Stadium (the best retro choice for MKWii easily). Even then, the lows here aren't nearly as low as Grumble Volcano (then again, sorry), hence the higher placement)
3. Flower Cup (Mario Circuit = Figure 8 Circuit + Chain Chomp + dumb RNG. Worst track of the game that lowers the place of a otherwise great cup here. I admitedly have a bit of bias with Wario's Goldmine here compared to other tracks, but eh.)
2. Lightning Cup (I know, the fact whenever Mario Circuit 3 is actually considered good greatly depends of who you ask, but F it, it was always a blast for me despite being very generic. And the rest of this cup got a banger list of retros anyway.)
1. And then you have one of the best Bowser Castles and Rainbow Roads each, nuff said.)
A small edit since i kinda forgot about it with all this ranting: *Dolphin Dasher Forever WOOOOOOOH*
Finally someone that actually think Wii’s nitro tracks are kinda eh…
As an American, I understand why it's DK Summit here. I have no idea what a "Snowboard Cross." is
According to Wikipedia, it's a sports variant of Snowboard
Swap leaf cup with mushroom cup and swap star cup with special cup then its 100%
literally the only thing that bothers me about the MK8 coconut mall is the conveyor belts, otherwise it's bursting with colour and charm. the cheese-grater stairs in the wii version honestly looks terrible af and pulls me out of the setting completely
Usually I'm all for bursting colours..., it's just that Coconut Mall wasn't the right track to implement it for me lol

Wii Rainbow Road is the best one for me tbh
I feel like for Mario Kart 8, they put all the best tracks in the Flower and Star Cups, and by the time they got to the Special cups, their ideas for the first two tracks were pretty dull in comparison

Literally just swap gcn mario and yoshi circuit between games and it makes both ds and wii even better
Mario circuit got cut from ds and it butchered YC so bad I never appreciated a track shaped like yoshi being the coolest fucking thing ever as a kid, and the number of mario circuits in wii is tiring, plus it's ds limitation friendly so it still woulda been good
I’d put GCN Mario Circuit in the Banana Cup, and move GCN Baby Park to the Lightning Cup to replace it with Wario Colosseum.
@@CaptainRillaboomArmenia there's absolutely no way wario colosseum fits on the ds not even modders can do it

Is Mario kart Wii still the best selling game? Pretty sure mk8 deluxe has it beat

7. Leaf Cup (I like DK's Jungle Parkway and I do enjoy GCN Mario Circuit. GBA BC3 I find to just be ok and Desert Hills imo is awful.)
6. Flower Cup (Mario Circuit is a decent Mario Circuit. Coconut Mall imo is really overrated and is only decent. DK's Snowboard Cross is pretty good and Wario's Gold Mine is awesome!)
5. Mushroom Cup (This is a good cup. Luigi Circuit is boring but Moo Moo Meadows beats Moo Moo Farm any day imo. Mushroom Gorge is really fun and Toad's Factory has a really cool theme.)
4. Lightning Cup (SNES MC3 brings this cup down but I do agree Peach Gardens is quite underrated, DK Mountain is great and N64 BC is my second favourite retro course is the game.)
3. 5: Lightning Cup (SNES Mario Circuit 3 is lame, DS Peach Gardens is one of my favorites, GCN DK Mountain is iconic, N64 Bowser Castle is great)
4: Special Cup (Dry Dry Ruins isn’t my favorite, Moonview Highway is insane but overrated, Bowser’s Castle is the best version, Rainbow Road is the face of Mariokart)
3: Mushroom Cup (Luigi Circuit is pretty weak, Moo Moo Meadows is great, Mushroom Gorge is very fun, Toads Factory is one of the best!)
2: Star Cup (Daisy Circuit is interesting, Koopa Cape is crazy, Maple Treeway is a classic, Grumble Volcano is difficult)
1: Flower Cup (Mario Circuit is the worst one, Coconut Mall is top teir, DK Summit is magical, Wario’s Gold Mine is my favorite ever too!)
Wow you are wrong
I think the lightning cup is worse than the mushroom cup for the sole reason of snes mario circuit 3
no i haven't gotten over it it's the worst track in the series
Edit: you didn't put star cup at #1, your opinion is invalid
Hi
Wow it’s another based DK Snowboard Cross sayer
Mario kart wii isn’t the best selling game anymore 8 deluxe has outsold it
I hate Coconut Mall it is my Least favourite course in the entire series, heck I like Mario Circuit 1 from the Snes
nah star cup #1 imo
MK8 Coconut Mall isnt THAT BAD wtf!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
When compared to the original..., it kind of is lol
@@AlbertBoris The one thing people complain about that are actually valid are: Cars moving differently, it’s objectively an upgrade…
