having a dog/s can be both your alarm and security in the house. They bark when someone's in front of the door, or they hear unfamiliar noises/voices outside. They also bark when unfamiliar smell is coming near in our door or window. I love them!
True even when we're on the 3rd floor.. our dog knows when someone is standing outside the gate. She's like our door bell
There is a dog in the palace
But a lot of dogs died because of that reason na they acted as bantay. Madami na walang pusong papatay ng aso na bantay para makapasok sa bahay. Let's treat our pets as family members and not a bantay. Let's keep them safe as well.
I think it's their instinct to be protective to their owner. Not because they're force to do that.

Porket instinct na nila hahayaan nalang din nating gawin silang bantay tas pag may masamang loob na magbabalak pumasok at sila unang patayin, "thank you for protecting us" nalang? Yun punto ko, kasi I was replying to a comment na basically telling us to get a dog who can serve as an alarm and provide protection. Let's be responsible for our family's and pets' safety. Wag natin ipush sa mga aso ang responsibility na yun. They are living pets not a door bell *ehem*.
Security would be a higher consideration for Slater and family since their house is continually viewed in the internet and living remotely. Be proactively safe always Slater. We enjoyed all your videos and love your young family.

Yung typical pinoy couldnt really care less about these kinds of things kasi tingin nila less likely mangyari ito sa kanila. I have a classmate lumabas kami sa kanyang bahay at nagtanong ako bat hindi niya i.padlock kahit yung gate lang at sabi niya na wala na mang mga mamahalin sa loob even though there is (PC, workout equipment, etc.). Kaya nga yung mga westerners umunlad unlike PH 😒

This is really traumatizing. Last november, we also experienced being entered by burglars and it was at 3 am in the morning. Fortunately i was awake that time and I was able to wake my father. I didn't see the burglar but I heard strange sounds coming from the gate in our sala. At first i thought it was just an animal who keeps bumping in the gate however, when i heard the bamboo slides rustling which is impossible for any animals to reach since it was hanged, i was horrified. I woke my father and when he opened the door going to the sala he saw our outdoor gate gaping and saw some movements by the garage and there he screamed "kawatan". It was really traumatizing that eve.n though it's been months since it happened and we tightened our security by installing cams and fences, i still feel not reassured.

I worked for a security company in US and I must say that your devices are way cheaper. The only difference is we provide real time monitoring service so whenever a sensor goes off it will automatically contact 911 and send a dispatch to your home.

our 2 dogs didn’t bark nong pinasok kami ng magnanakaw, but luckily yung dalawa dogs sleeps in the room’s with my kid’s kaya hindi napasok ang mga room’s nila. sad to me & my husband nakuha lahat gadgets namin Haysss so traumatic

We just moved to a rented studio and the door alarms you've posted seem right up our alley! We weren't allowed to install our own lock so there are only the doorknob and a chain and bolt knob. I'm hoping the security film could also work on the jalousie-type windows. Not sure how to reinforce those though!

We've tried once using a stick to our sliding window when the lock was not working and it really does the job
My family home was robbed when I was still there last Nov 13, 2018. We couldn't sleep even after weeks so we eventually decided to hire a security guard and installed burglar alarms on all doors for peace of mind. We have a German Shepherd but our dog has no access to the part where they entered. It felt na parang pinag aralan talaga nila yung house. We also have a cctv but unfortunately biglang nag stop pala siya mag record 2 days before the incident. This video helps. Being robbed in your home is really traumatizing.
Agree, more than the stuff they’re able to get, mas grabe yung trauma of someone going inside your “safe home”

I agree with the trauma thing. 10 years ago pa yung napasok kami ng magnanakaw, nakalimutan na namin yung things na nakuha from us but the trauma of having strangers na makapasok sa bahay stays even after all these years.
Agree! Kami din nalooban. Naku! Hindi ako nakatulog ng ilang gabi. Lahat ng konting ingay na naririnig ko eh napaparanoid ako. Naging ok lang ako nung lumipat na kami ng bahay.

The idea of putting security films instead is very helpful. We can probably reduce the costs as well. Hope you keep on making more videos like this! 😄
Thank youuuu for making this video! We got robbed last week, and since then we replaced all the locks, knobs and bought cctv. This is very helpful. I will definitely add alarms/sensors that you recommended.

Another very important layer of security is presence of mind and physical and mental fitness. Sometimes you don’t even have time to panic. Your survival instincts takes over when threatened and if you lack training, your body won’t respond well.
The book “100 Deadly Skills” is a good start for mindsetting and preparation.
I 100% agree with the xiaomi security kit recommendation. Also got this after we were burglarized. Gives us peace of mind. Only advice is to keep the control hub inside a locked room so it won't be unplugged and will continue alarming.

Reminds me of what my mama says na huwag na ipaayos yung labas ng bahay pabayaan na mukhang gubat para di pag interesan, basta ung luob panatilihing malinis at maayos. Growing up, it's one of my insecurities, nahihiya ako mag invite ng mga friends sa bahay namin, di ko man lang ma"flex" to think na nasa structural field ang father and brother ko, but now I'm old enough to understand things, tama si mudra (mother knows best), in our entire life, isa lang ang susi na ginagamit namin bahay, wala kami kanya kanyang susi unlike sa mga kakilala ko, never din kami nagtatago sa mga pots or mats or any hidden areas, we just leave it open, unless malayuan yung pupuntahan at wala talagang maiiwan sa bahay. We never locked our door kasi may mga late umuuwi, isang factor na din na safe talaga ang area namin (somehow), but we are still and always vigilant, gamit na gamit ang 5 senses namin kasi tahimik ang area, kaya konting kaluskos alerto din kami (kahit na madalas eh mga pusa lang or mababait na aaligid sa bakuran) at syempre sangkatutak na aso ang katapat HAHAHA. but ill keep this in mind for my own future home!

I agree with the window grills. Couldn’t pull the trigger to have it installed due to safety issue. I also suggest to get a sliding window lock with key.

Why not install window frames
When my family was away on vacation, someone tried to open our door and window and I knew cause I was right beside the door and window and I literally froze. We have home alarm but it was deactivated at that time. Sa takot ko, I tried grabbing a kitchen knife . The thief left when I turn on the light.Buti di nakapasok. This happen in the USA . That week 3 houses in the neighborhood were also robbed. I am allergic to dog hair. I now activate the alarms and turn lights on and installed cameras.

Kahit boarding house/bedspacers nga nilolooban, prayers lang talaga kelangan kay Lord at iwasan mag iwan ng maraming valuables(mamahaling gadgets/appliance/money) sa tinululuyan.
German sheps are the best lol, very loyal and malambing sa owners, but will tear an unknowing and dangerous stranger to shreds

I use Kerui home security. It has a console to link door sensors, infrared sensors, siren and can be controlled by FOB and can get alerts through SMS/call.

My mom use to bring scisdors every day when she goes out. So effectively when we go out of town we always it. One day we went to batangas port heading to mindoro and the bags should go tru the x ray. We are about to board the boat then my mom was stop in the x ray section because the officer was looking for the scissors he saw in monitor. It took so long for them to find it the bag then they found it. In the resort i told my mom " pano yan wala tayo scissor pano buksan ang mga food snacks. She said meron akong scisdors. Huh sabi ko diba na confiscate yan . Sabi nya oo un isa kaso dalawa ang dala ko un isa hindi nila makita kita. Grabe tawa ako ng tawa. Kc i saw them making kalkal to the bag but they gave up. The scissors was inside a pouch underneath the bag.

I would install a very loud motion sensor theft alarm on each entrance of the house and on each windows and put a signage on the gate that says "protected by cctv" and a sign that tells them that you are arm with firearms.
I would also connect the theft alarm outside into another theft alarm in each bedroom, kitchen, living room, and maybe bathroom? So that if you didn't hear the alarm outside, you would hear it inside your house.
How did you connect all alarms
