The Pinstripe is awesome! Well worth the time, when you have the skill to do it. I'm going to try to do one with a dark purple glitter fade, we will see how it works
I just wanted to say thank you to all that have been following the project I appreciate all your comments and look forward to bringing you more content
Jonathan Flynn it was the factory blue paint I used but I did darken it with some black I didn’t care for light tone I wanted a darker blue thanks for watching I appreciate it
I really want to do mine that color blue! Is it navy blue? Metallic navy? I can't tell exactly, but I'm getting mine done soon, i would really appreciate the exact color sir, thank you and God bless!
I mixed it by eye, I added some grey and black to darken it, the blue was the original color that came on the truck but I don’t remember the color code.
If you use a food scale you can weigh your mixture and will be able to make it again. Use grams it would be X grams of liner and X grams of whatever colors you use = your color
Great job!! My first time watching one of your videos and now a subscriber! Btw, your shop looks great, I wish I had that much space and equipment, awesome!! Thanks for sharing!
Great job, love the 2 tone and pinstripe. Looks like you're using a gun with the variable nozzle. Do you remember how many turns out on the tip and what pressure you were shooting at? The texture you got is exactly what I want when I do mine. Thanks!
I am using an adjustable nozzle I think the pressure was like 55psi but as far as getting a certain texture it’s really trial and error it’s hard to explain but I am going to do a video about the different things I’ve learned with raptor liner so check back for that soon
That looks amazing. What grey was that? I'm thinking about doing my 6.7 Powerstroke blue jean grey 2 tone. These colors look almost identical to the ford factory colors just wondering what grey that was so I can save the info for when I do mine.
It was just 2 stage base coats I had left over it technically doesn’t follow their instructions because they want you to use paint without the binding agents so it’s more pigment, and I’ve also used single stage as well. Neither had any issues that I can see
@@notchback93 ok thanks. Yeah they are trying to sale the tint they have at 3oz for $25 and I just can't see it. Looked on UA-cam and yours was the first video I seen not using what they sale. Good job looks great and Thanks for the reply
@@1944welderman no problem appreciate you, responding to my info most don’t so I have no idea if I helped them, also I’ve used the kits they supplied with tint it’s pricey but at least if you have a problem with their supplies you know it’s nothing you caused, just for piece of mind, good luck with your project
Could have prevented that ghost stripe. Should have sprayed the blue first without taping the pin stripe, to get a feather edge. Then spray the grey coat last.
Tyler Harris I was impatient my cousin told me to feather edge the grey after we shot it before the blue and I didn’t want to! And unfortunately that decision caused the flaw in the job I take full ownership of that, thanks for watching
Tyler Harris I definitely appreciate that but I was disappointed that I didn’t take my cousins advice because that flaw definitely could have been avoided, that’s what happens when your stubborn 😂
I LIKE THAT JOB AND THE LINE MARKS TOO, ECCELLANT MATE, FROM DAWN UNDER, M WILLING TOO, TO DO MY UTE HOLDEN 1977/78 HX HZ, BUT SOME TOLD ME IT MIGHT DOES NOT LOOK GOOD, TO ME IT WILL, IN RED WITH CLEAR URETHANE, I'D THEY ALL LOOK GOOD GREAT JOB AGAIN
Hi I like the results, thinking of doing the same to my 1989 4 x 4 Chev ext cab. One question when you overspray the grey with blue did you have to prep the grey so it would stick?
I don’t exactly remember but the bottles are made to hold the liner and the paint and leave enough room to mix together in the bottle 3/4 Oz should be good, and if you buy a kit with the tint supplied with it they already did the math for you, just mix each bottle the same way that’s the important part
No sheen really it’s pretty much flat, I used whatever paint I had lying around. I would suggest using a solid color paint preferably urethane based products. I don’t think metallics will work. But you can’t try. Raptor liner recommends to have the paint mixed with out the binders added in so basically it would be pure pigment. I did not follow that recommendation and used what I had on hand in my paint cabinet the day we sprayed my truck it’s been 4 years and it looks the same.
JZ1988 yes it’s a 8ft bed. My advice is to buy at least five one gallon kits but if you can get one extra kit if you buy them off Amazon you can return the extra. You don’t want to run out midway through the project! Also the amount needed is directly affected by the thickness you spray it. I used 5 of my 6 kits, but I have used some of the last kit for touch ups, thanks for viewing feel free to ask anymore questions you may have
That makes sense. Blue looks great. All the prep is a lot of work but I bet it was one of those jobs that was way worth it once you finished that last coat and stepped back. Painting a car seems like such a luxury to me but doing it yourself makes it seem like more of an option. Good work!
It is. I ignored my buddy who suggested we sand it before the other color was sprayed I thought The texture would hide it, but I was wrong. Lesson learned
1lionconqueror thank you I want to say like 45-50 psi but if you watch my how to spray raptor liner video I believe I say the exact psi thanks for watching
Hey man thanks for subscribing! I want to say I used 5 complete one gallon kits if I’m not mistaken I ordered 6 and had a full kit and a partial left over that was enough to do the whole truck including inside the bed. Hope your project goes well 👍🏻. Don’t under buy you’d better having to much than not enough
Greg Green So the original color is called intense blue. So took that and darkened it with some black to flatten it out a bit, when I first sprayed it with the original blue it was way to bright and I wanted a darker blue.
Rebekah Tinsley I used 220-320 I had a ton of 320 lying around the majority was that buy areas of primer were sanded with 220 grit i would advise to use anywhere from 180-220 I took a chance with the 320 grit but haven’t had any adhesion issues
javier Guzmán I used almost 4 1 gallon kits for the complete truck including inside the bed it’s a large truck and I wanted to make sure we didn’t run out halfway through the project
That raptor liner blue is exactly what I wanna do with my old ford ranger. This confirms it. Looks phenomenal.
Thanks I appreciate that, it’s been a couple years and it holding up great 👍🏻

@@shaundibene7 hey I mixed some blues, greys and black that I had,so it’s a custom mix that unfortunately I couldn’t tell you exactly how to make it
The two tone and pinstripe really looks awesome 👏
The stripes give it a very cool touch
I appreciate that it was a bit of extra work but the results were worth it!
Looks good with the pinstripe. Blue and silver looks nice also.
James Frantz thank you that’s my favorite part about this paint job
Four years later to the day big blue was officially sold to a proud new owner I wish them both well. All good things come to an end!
How did the color withstand the UV rays after 4 years? Did you protect it with a clear coat or ceramic?
The color never faded and I never did anything but power wash it when it was dirty, for a work truck it was awesome!
This looks incredible! Awesome job.
You have no clue how proud I am. Great job and cant wait to see it in person broski.
they are right for the pin strip looks sick
Looks great! Do you have an update video on how well the Raptor has held up?
Subscribe and watch my videos it’s in there somewhere, but it still looks the same as it did then
Details on that blue color please? I like that shade for my own truck.
I mixed it by eye, I added some grey and black to darken it, the blue was the original color that came on the truck but I don’t remember the color code.
@notchback93 ok thank you for your reply. I want to mix color that I can mix again in the future if I need to make future repairs.
If you use a food scale you can weigh your mixture and will be able to make it again. Use grams it would be X grams of liner and X grams of whatever colors you use = your color
Awesome Job on the truck

The subsequent question would be what kind of paint do you use to tint it? And the tintable raptorliner, not the black a stje base, correct?
Yes you have to buy the tintable raptor liner it will be white instead of black
