I live in Orlando, FL and I can tell you Kennywood has something that the mega parks down here can't replicate, and that's the long history and tradition of those great classic parks up there.
my pap and gram lived on commonwealth blvd. with the windows open in summer time.....every night was this song. as an adult I can openly say....I want to go home!
What great memories. I am very familiar with this song, since when we went to Kennywood on School Picnic Day, our family never left the park until closing time, and we'd be walking out through the pedestrian tunnel under Kennywood Blvd. to the car as this was playing. I miss the old Skooters.
this brings out that old history kennywood has. from being a pool area, to having the first ride, merry go round, to the phantoms revenge. it reminds us of the older days Kennywood has been through. Depressing, but satisfying, only one thing. You had a great day...
I have a love/hate relationship with this song when ever I hear it it brings good memories of Kennywood & the disappointment of me having to leave the park. I cannot wait to go again this year!
I was DJing for the St Patricks Day dance at the technical school I go to, I played this song at the very end as a dedication to kennywood, this is a really nice song to an ending of a fun day so I thought it would go well at the end of a dance.
@MrNick0529 I used to work at Kennywood, and this song was pure joy, because it meant you could close up the ride, turn out the lights, and go home. :)
Damn I hope someday there will be a very smart person out there who will create a time machine or a time machine watch so that I can visit the old kennywood and future kennywood
OMG! you are my VERY FIRST video response! and what better than a GREAT video on kennywood. all i have to say is, it's a great song, but everytime i hear it, it brings me to tears cause that means kennywood is closed :-( but greatly put together and very well done. I will be returning to kennywood on Friday, August 1st for my grandparents annual Shriners Picnic Held every first Friday in August. Ohh god, how much i miss kennywood!
omg are you serious? haha i've been looking to find what this song was called for years, and its right here! thanks for telling us who the song is by and what its actually called. one of my most memorable and loved (but still hated) parts of kennywood!
Sorry bout that, I hope you enjoyed the video though. Kennywood is a beautiful park, I hope the new owners don't change a thing. Wait, they do need to put a roof back on the Whip. It's unfortunate what happened when mother nature brought it down, but the Whip does need a roof.
@threemilechild You can check out my video of the Kennywood closing songs. It has all of the songs there including taps. Don't know if I'm allowed to include a link but you can always just go to my page and find it from there. I like this video too

Themeparkfanatic That’s why it’s so sad what they’re doing this year; they’re trying to be those parks.
Q Yep, idk if the Thomas thing was around 2 years ago when you made the comment. But they are running Kennywood with these movie themed stuff.
I love how this song resonates throughout the park especially that little trumpet section.

This never fails to give me nostalgic chills
I used this song as the sign off theme for my Saturday night dance party radio show in the 1950's. loved it. King Elliott
Love it. I grew up in Pittsburgh. Many trips to Kennywood.

I remember I used to cry when this played and at the end of the documentary

Best summer job ever !
So beautiful
im super pumped for this year. cant wait! 13 days!
No problem. Kennywood is such a great traditional amusement park filled with many classic rides and with a great ending to every day :)
Memories are amazing
A lot of people don't understand why I like kennywood so much, it's because of the memories. Not the rides
I just went to KennyWood on Saturday and it seemed a lot more fun when I was younger
Damn I hope someday there will be a very smart person out there who will create a time machine or a time machine watch so that I can visit the old kennywood and future kennywood
Well done. thank you.
It's just south of Pittsburg, PA in a town called West Mifflin.
This song was used during the closing segments of Kennywood Memories!
@MrNick0529 Yep, it's always sad when the fun comes to a screatching halt at the end of the day when the park closes.
The park is so beautiful at night. Some parts of the park are like a little slice of Vegas almost...

I miss this type of traditional kennywood now it’s just ghetto with vines everywhere and a huge coaster that takes up the whole park

Amazon's web site is where I got it. The title of the song is litterally "Nighty Night" by Alvino Rey.
no mom....one last ride on phantom! please?
@woodencoasterfan its spelled pittsburgh, with an h. altho the pittsburg plunge dosent have an h.
Man i live 2 min away from that park an i love it. I kissed a girl there.
