thanks for the memories! we lived in Monaca PA and every summer went to Kennywood. Lots of changes now, but I enjoyed this video showing the Pippin and some of the other rides now gone
@@randyfleet8929 Well, it's the Old Mill again since 2020. The "new" theme is an updated version of the Old Mill theme from the 1980s-90s. The original 1901 "Ye Olde Mill" (original, original name) been re themed before. For years it was "Hard headed Harold's Horrendously Humorous Haunted Hideout" and more recently as "Garfield's Nightmare", But the "guts" of the ride have been largely unchanged since the 1920s.(it originally had a "Pittsburg Plunge" kind of ending!) It's the oldest water based "dark ride" in the world IIRC. It never had been replaced, the name, theme and visuals have changed (and changed back.. Rinse and repeat.) . It's actually the oldest ride in the park!

The rumors about someone getting hurt on the Rotor were everywhere at my school and that's probably why it closed. Great park! Great memories!!
That clown was just horrifying!!!!
My parents lived in Pittsburgh in the mid-late '50s, and have some old polaroid pics of this park. Looked like a lot of fun.
Horror-film producer George Romero got his start producing TV ads for Kennywood. Some of these may be his.
Lol
beautiful!
I miss the roader :*(
Before it got all dark
OMG that clown though.......
Are there any videos of the Pippin before it became the Thunderbolt? I remember my brother & dad riding that. I was too young.
If you liked the PIPPIN, you'll LOVE the THUNDERBOLT!!! WOW!!! 2:15-6
Remember the Turn-Pike and The Old Mill?
