Yes indeed. I hope this video didn’t make it sound like I didn’t like NB5…I definitely do, they both just have a different job to do in my lineup. Thanks for watching & commenting!
Thanks for watching…I went ahead & ordered the Nimbus 27. I wasn’t going to but January was looking pretty barren for shoes! Plus I want to see the difference in it, GRM & NB5
@@justjared82 I have the Nimbus 26 and they are very comfortable, so I'm going to hold off on getting the 27's. I am debating between the Nike Zoomfly 6 or the NB SC Trainer v3 right now.
Great comparison, Jared! Pretty much cementing my prediction that the Novablast 5 is probably a great shoe, but one I don’t really *need* right now. Maybe I’ll get it next year when it’s on sale.
It could be the reputation from earlier Gliderides. I have a pair and they were bricks. Non-soft. Non-bouncy. I guarantee very few of you out there would have like the one I have.
For me the nb5 is too bouncy.. the glideride is more confort delicious run. Im a fellow supwellapp jogger. How do you find the glideride max vs the nimbus 25 i felt it pretty similar.
The Glideride Max is hard to beat. I thought the GRM wasn’t as “squishy” as the Nimbus 25, and definitely a more breathable upper. My Nimbus 27 should be here soon so I am looking forward to that comparison. Thanks for watching and commenting!
For me, the GRM is definitely a better long run shoe. It’s able to do some marathon pace even down to hmp. The NB5 is good (for me) up to about 14-15 miles, after that I’m wishing I had the comfort of the GRM. If you’re running a shorter run with faster paces the NB5 is fine, but neither would be my choice for 5k/track workouts.
I found magmax in 130€ in black Friday and i took that than everything else becouse it is winter shoe and maybe i will run my cirst marathon with that. but after this review , i should take the Glidemax max when my NB4 died.
Hey Jared, did you notice a difference in the heel-toe drop between both shoes? I tried on the NB5 and the drop feels closer to 5 or 6mm (which I prefer). I havent been able to try the GR Max yet so wondered if thy felt similar.
I didn’t really notice much difference in the drop but a big difference in the “ride”. The NB5 bounces you along while the GRM is a smooth heel to toe transition and just feels very comfortable. Hope that helps.
I was looking to get some comments on the fit. Online I see people saying GR Max run small and should half size up. Did you find anything related to that. That GR is more snug and short compared to NB5?
The GRM is much more snug (a finger width) in my TTS but causes me no issues. The NB5 is more TTS leaving me a thumb width at the end and more room in the toe box. If you line more room you may need to size up in the GRM or get the wide version.
@justjared82 thing about the GlideRide Max is that Asics has done a poor job positioning it in their lineup, and doesn't seem to have put much effort into marketing it in general. Max cushion/recovery: GR or Nimbus? Nimbus seems to be the shoe they're pushing. Long run? Superblast. Seems like they are positioning it as a recovery option if the Nimbus is too soft, and a long run option if the Superblast is too firm or sold out.
Excellent point! I think the Glycerin Max really overshadowed it too because they were released really close together. I was originally going to hold off on the Nimbus 27 but I ordered it today. January was looking pretty lonely!
In greece the Glidemax cost only 120€.
Even better!!! I hope you enjoyed the video and I pronounced your name correctly!!
I have both and I agree with you. The NB is more bouncy and fun, but the GR is so comfortable for longer runs.

Thanks bro.. i am also followed you at Strava.. i got Glideride Max less than 100km.. i love it
Thanks for commenting and following over there. I try to follow everyone back so if I didn’t let me know!

Thank ya sir. Maybe Asics will give you a 30% off coupon and really mean “site wide”😂. Thanks for watching!
I love the Glideride Max, great at all paces with a nice rocker👍🏼
Absolutely! I don’t understand the lack of love for the shoe
Me neither🤷

Glideride 3 wasn't a brick! It was quite similar to the Max @@brianway4240
Loving your channel, keep it going!
I appreciate it, thanks for watching!
Good comparison. I put 600 on a couple pairs of the nb4...and about wore out a pair of glideride 3. Sometimes there are almost too many options 😂
You are definitely correct!! And the differences between them are starting to blur!
❤ thank you Man🇬🇷

Which shoe is better for high milage and higer pace? Still thinking ,

For marathon training the Glideride is a better option than the Novablast for me. If you get it let me know how it works for you.

No sir, I went TTS. I have worn a 12 in every Asics except Magic Speed 3, went up 1/2 size in it.
I should add, it is more snug than NB5, but thats because NB5 runs a tad long.

How popular has the GR been? Do you think it sells anywhere close to the NB? Just curious.
I don’t think so. My local running store didn’t even carry it, chose the Superblast instead. I think it’s one of the most underrated shoes out there.
@@justjared82 I had the Asics Glideride 3 and it was a poppy shoe with a great front rocker and debating getting the Glideride Max.
@@Decisions4u i really enjoy it…going to be my “go to” for anything over 15 miles this marathon block
