    I am literally impressed after watching this video. Those cinematics were really good. Honestly speaking, production wise this is the best video on your channel. Infact, this video is so good that it has given me a fairly good idea about how your content will look in the coming years after you become a mainstream creator :)

    Well first VW then Skoda ,Audi and then attending the Toyota event clearly shows that if you know about your passion and you are good and if people respect your knowledge then you are a perfect candidate to make Indian vehicle market an healthy buyer vehicle market. Even I appreciate the way VAG and Toyota Group had given you respect and invited you in eventa which clearly shows that for the in social media numbers are not a thingh but the knowledge and persons like you need to be involved in things especially since about 70%-75% of the Indian automobile channels don't know much about cars and call themselves automobile journalist they even can't keep up with govt. rules and regulations and keep doing illegal things on their channel but lets not talk about them much. Its great to see a channel with 35k subs to be in these kinds of events with the big ones lets hope for more good things to come

    I have used Hilux for 5-6 years from 2008, body roll was the only negative that time & the interiors were rugged not luxurious.... if the body roll is well contained in the 8th Gen + Luxurious interiors then its a perfect lifestyle SUV for city usage & off-roading... HILUX has always been built to last .... excellent!!!

    • @SunderdeepSingh
      @SunderdeepSingh  Рік тому +2

      Looks like Toyota has worked a lot to give that balance and justify the price. It is not just a normal rugged do-anything truck now but a fine vehicle that can be used daily as well.

    Paaji, I have to say you have put a lot of effort into making this video. And the output was great also. And production-wise, it is the best video on your channel.
    And yes, the road presence is just too good. Just today, while driving on the highway, I saw this RED monster on the highway in my IRVM. And even if you do not give a way to it, it is always in your head that there is something huge behind your vehicle.
    In the end, I just slammed my throttle and my 1.6 TDI just pulled and pulled till the HILUX was just a small red dot in my IRVM :D
    But I would like to point out:
    1. This vehicle majorly caters to customers who are hardcore offroaders and overlanders, if not then people who love to travel a lot. The rear deck makes no sense for a person using this as a daily. It is too long for daily maneuvering.
    2. The rear seats are too upright and cannot be used for long-distance traveling. This was an issue faced by customers in the ISUZU D max as well.
    3. I hope parts are not an issue as this is a CKD. Hopefully, part-sharing with the Fortuner might workout in the long run.
    4. The HILUX seems to be not at all VFM for the usage it offers. Like the Fortuner, even the HILUX is overpriced.
    5. If offroading is the main criterion and you want VFM, you have the Scorpio N 4*4 which is a ladder-on-frame design that would be even more VFM than the HILUX. Yes, there won't be reliability like the Toyota but the Mahindras will not also leave you stranded anywhere. I cannot comment much on the comparison of offroading capabilities but one thing I know is a good offroading vehicle is based on the driver behind the steering wheel and not the car. The rear passenger seating position is better. Rear seats for those extra passengers. If not needed then that space can be utilized as boot space and the main thing is that it will be accessible from within the cabin. And also there would be some margin left for modifications and money to finance your fuel too! 😁
    HILUX is heavily catered to only limited customers and is very impractical for a normal buyer who does want to have some offroad fun but does not want the daily practicalities compromised.
    But in the end, jo gaadi aapki dil ki ghanti bajaye, THAT is the one. Period. Discussion closed.

    • @SunderdeepSingh
      @SunderdeepSingh  Рік тому +1

      Tysm Brother.
      Few points
      - Hilux is coming with 5-6 lacs discount so that makes it extremely VFM
      - Its 2.8 litre & 6 speed makes it VFM as compared to Scorpio N
      - 4*4 comes with WATT linkage & Differential Lock, leaf spring suspension at the rear, 700 mm water wading capacity which makes it far better than the competition in the capability
      - CKD & globally accomplished vehicle
      - Better road presence if modified tastefully
      - Quality felt near flawless while checking thoroughly

    • @gkautomotive
      @gkautomotive Рік тому +1

      @@SunderdeepSingh I guess the discounts were just released yesterday!
      A whooping 8 lakhs of discounts on the ex showroom! That is like a 25% discount! It is worth looting!
      Why? Because the base variant on road price is 36 lakhs. Assuming you get a 5 lakh discount also, you get a very good deal for 30-31 lakhs.
      - Toyota reliability.
      - You are getting a premium product of Toyota at a very competitive/great price.
      - Road presence is just killing compared to many vehicles.
      - Great off roading capability.
      Yes, you will have to compromise on many aspects but considering the money aspect, this is a great deal.
      Dealers are offering upto 8 lakhs of discounts! Just google it!

    Great video review Sunderdeep as always. The production quality of your videos is definitely going up therefore congratulations are in order.
    Couple of things that I wish to add; it's a pick-up truck, not an SUV. I had the chance to drive it back in 2019 while on a trip to Australia (they don't sell Hilux in the North American market; we get its close cousin Toyota Tacoma which is also a top seller). I noticed two negatives: heavy steering & dated interiors especially if you compare it to its contemporaries such as the current generation Isuzu D-Max (not the one being sold in India but the one that Isuzu launched last year globally and Isuzu India refuses to launch in the Indian market) & Ford Ranger which is a very modern looking truck and giving tough competition to Toyota across the world. Toyota plans to launch the next-generation Hilux in 2025 and hopefully, it will make its way to India by 2026. Hilux is a very utilitarian pick-up truck and between the Fortuner & Hilux I would pick the Fortuner any day as I have no use for the loading bed and the ride quality at the end of the day is slightly inferior to the Fortuner. The seating also is cramped and anyone spending almost Rs 40 lacs would have to be a die-hard pick-up truck aficionado to choose Hilux over Fortuner. Both Fortuner and Hilux share the same platform. Looking forward to more of your quality content in the future.

      But the fortuner is eye watering costly! A difference of almost 10 lakhs!
      Fortuner does not justify it's price and the tag of overpriced seems right!
      But it you look at it only in the terms of utility and not money. Fortuner is the best hands down.

    In India culture of lifestyle vehicle is in nascent stage. People still think it as pick-up truck. As compared to Isuzu car, it is steeply priced. That’s why Toyota is hesitant to bring it India.
    Fortuner is based on Hilux platform and hence there is hardly any difference in terms of hardware or technology.
    Whenever you go for long drive if you’ve Fortuner you’ll have peace of mind that this car won’t let you down on the middle of highway
