There's a few frame drops at 19:40. That is the capture card and not the game. My recording settings were probably just a tad too high but I wanted to capture the visuals as best as I could. It shall be fixed!
The textures really stand out in this game compared to other UE5 games. Image quality looks great too. I'm glad they decided to stick with High settings and have it run well instead of including Epic and Cinematic settings too, but i'm sure some people with high end GPU's would like that too.
It's really good visually. I think hidden ultra extreme settings like Avatar is a good idea. That way 4090 users are happy and 1060 users dont try to just select ultra and complain about performance. Nanite and tesselation do a real good job here.
The tree bark, the textures on the rocks and the forest floor looking like every pebble, fallen leaves and sticks were separately modelled. Looks great. Reminds me of stray.
I believe you are referring the the scanlines / tearing? That happens because I am not using v-sync, and the capture card is only 60 fps. The capture card records screen tearing in that case.
This is just the intro scene. Once you find your colony and start battling there is a ton of life. Ants carrying food, bugs flying and skittering around etc.

This game looks amazing and it runs well, thanks for pointing int out.
You're welcome. I thought it was worth a video just because of the lack of stutters.

They definitely put a lot of effort into this one for sure.
what are all those artefacts in your video? 4:20 for example

Such a static, lifeless scene..
Env. should be living, grass moving, waterdrops, etc.
Nice but totally empty and soul-less.
