The new exhaust and cold air intake sounds soooo nice tbh haba
New exhaust sounds sweet! The 1ZZ throttle body is the next upgrade for me after I get my new brake parts
Try also

VVTI RS SOLENOID
can feel the difference
@@kimmychan7122 Think those mod will fit a 2nz-fe? Thanks in advance!
@@z-trip5457 yes it can fit to 2nz-fe also
@@kimmychan7122 Thank you! And thanks for the little mod list, I hope I can bump up the power a bit!
@@z-trip5457 ur welcome
This is interesting. I never thought that 1zz Throttle body would be so pnp with 1nz. In my country, people used to change the 1nz throttle body with 1TR throttle body. But it is so much for me because i have to made change with the gasket and sitting bracket for the throttle body..
Oh.. and here's one tip for you for the exhaust. I'm just sharing my experience, because we have the same cars. Try to change the header with aftermarket and change the resonator which have hurricane pattern inside, but keep the muffler standard. It will give you better throttle response.
What kind of headers and resonator do you use?
Sounds great. Can't wait for the next video!
1ZZ TB does make for better response. I also oversized the plenum intake hole and got a 2'' MAF housing. Also have an straight thru exhaust with cat delete. Can't really notice a power difference. Mayybe better torque at low rpm. But mostly more noise fun!
Be care full broring that plenum, it will mess up the channellings and make air go where it shouldn't. Had to use plastic weld to fix my screwup.
Sound RULL good dude.
Try to imstall ZL01 maf sensor and also 1zz vvti solenoid...also 1zz injector u will feel the diffrence
All this with the stock ecu? in 1.8l engine or in 1.5l engine? and from which car is the ZL01 maf?
@@ssozenidisZL01 comes from a Mazda RX8
cant wait for the new wheels
So cool, was the exhaust "plug and play?" or did you have to do some mods?
Plug and play :)
First mechanic with clean hands no gloves either
Do you have a link for the hks axle back? I can't find the damn thing. Thanks
what are the tires and wheels
I'm new to the channel, and just found out you also have an FRS. Could you check if the FRS TB works on the Yaris/Toyota connector? I know the diameter is waaaay bigger, but I'm really wondering if it works in a Toyota (since it's its a Subie engine), would be great to put in a 2ZR engine, similar to what you did with here.
Brilliant work! I am wondering if you kept the stock manifold gasket? Some folks report it not being the best fit with the 1ZZ tb. Cheers!
What size of your 1zz tb ? 60mm , 65mm or 70mm ?
hey man! great video! where did you order the hks exhaust? would it fit a 2016 yaris?
changing to a larger tb won't increase the amount of air going into the engine. The hole on the intake manifold is still the same size.
I think this is correct. The car's computer will still set the A/F ratio to be the same at whatever load and engine speed you are running. Maybe a chip change is such things are possible....need to be added to the mix. Another thing.....according to Bernouli's equation.....a smaller diameter pipe will increase the intake air SPEED, ( not the mass flow amount), so throttle RESPONSE may be worse with a larger TB. There are othr variables that play into all this....would love to hear your TRUE analysis of what this all did....instrumented before and after numbers would be the best indicator.
@@TheWilferchYou have convinced me this swap is not worth it on stock manifold. Unless proven otherwise I agree with you. Thanks
@@mayh3xx ...I didn't mean to convince but only to open the door to further thinking in this. Folks do all kinds of things like this and convince themselves of improvement, but you need documented numbers to see for sure...as "numbers don't lie".... :)
Awesome!
waiting for your next videos
Dropped one yesterday! :)
Very nice video bro I m looking to install air intake on nsp120 1nrfe only will that make any difference
Finally watched the video where you installed yours. Did you have any problem with the butterfly hitting the metal gasket behind it?
havent had any issues, it looks like it just barely clears.
@@RassoolRacing You can full open it with out any issues?
I have the 2016 vitz simular to the yaris, i did a 1zz throttle body swap, header change and a zero1000 cold air intake. It seems to limit my speed and rpm at 5 gear. Not any fix to my issue?
My wife has a 1nz fe. Looks exactly like yours, is that what you have as well? If so that's good to know cus I was curious if the 1zz throttle would fit.
Very good video... I liked that modification... Can you please tell me what would be the mesured to install headers un the Yaris 1.3 L
i believe thats the engine the US got in the Scion iQ. you could start by looking for forums and support on that car, might make it easier to find
Excellent stuff bro. But, i have the 1nzfe 4 door 2005 and the desing of the trhottle body is defferent. Which swap do you recommend? Thanks
The 05 had a drive by cable throttle yeah?
@@RassoolRacing Yes
@@georgelcpda3413 the older 1ZZs might also be cable driven. I'm not sure, but it's worth popping a few hoods at junkyards to find out.
So what size coupler should we order is it not 45mm to 60mm????????

hello im new to the yaris community, was tired of seeing the averages G or Lexus and decided why not go for a 3 banger engine, i have 08 yaris 4 door what should i upgrade first? i want to start taking it to tracks and pushing power but mines around 160k miles

if they are the same diameter in the rear than wouldn't using a cone of some sort that goes over the throttle body the same thing?
Currently in the market for coilovers for my yaris build. What are you using? Also, any complaints?
I've got tein street advanced Z's on mine, but they aren't suitable for bumpy tracks. I'm looking to upgrade to Fortune Auto or Yellow Speed Racing.
@@RassoolRacing thank you for the input. I was originally going to go with Megan coilovers however they look to be out of stock so the next step up from that looked like BC coilovers. Do the teins have any type of camber plate adjustment? I haven't heard the yellow brand you mentioned I will have to look into them.
@@TheInteriorAutoMechanic the teins I have don't have camber adjustment, but their are upgraded ones that do. The teins and I think the megan Racing are more designed for street use, cus the spring rates are a bit soft for track.
@@RassoolRacing thank you for the info!
I’m sure this won’t matter now, but maybe try a different mounting position for the sway bar to make it act softer, and maybe use softer bushings on the links? That way it’s still active, but won’t make the rear too stiff?
im just going with a thinner bar. dropping from 22mm down to 16mm. the whiteline bar was already at its softest settings
I've been debating doing the TB swap on my yaris sedan, the only thing that's held me back so far is knowing that others have had high idle issues. I'm in AZ and 2k elevation so after watching this and reading your comments I'm convinced I won't have any issues with it. Did you have any problems with the throttle plate hitting the intake manifold/ weird metal plate-gasket ?
i didnt really have any issues with the gasket, but i know others that have. i do still get weird idling issues at cold start, but honestly, my car is so rarely at idle, it hasnt been an issue. from what ive heard, using the 1zz VVT soleniod will fix the idle issue. im going to try that and some injectors soon.
@@RassoolRacing hey that sounds like a plan! I look forward to the results you find
I'm considering doing a similar TB swap on my mom's 2003 Echo. How did the swap for you work out.
There's a screw on the 1zz tb that can be adjusted, and also a video on how to do it, and it will fix idle issue 👍
Did the TB was a plug and play or did you have to change any hoses or gaskets? I have been told you have to change some things but seeing you doing it was like plug and play and i want to do the upgrade but idk how is the process
It's kinda plug and play if you're going to track. The issues with mine are high idle and an occasional rev hang which only really effect me in the pits. Many fixes for this including a 1zz vvti solenoid. But I haven't tried them
Nice!
I have a regular smegular 07 Toyota Yaris can I still do cool stuff to it
Awesome
I just came across your channel and subscribed I have a 2007 1.5 Yaris 5 speed manual ... I just ordered a 2.4 Camry throttle body for cheap.. do I have to do any mods on the coolant connectors that go on the throttle body just wondering if it's identical on a automatic and 5-speed
The 2AZ throttle body should be identical with either transmission. I just bypass the coolant lines, but there is a way that you can still use them with slightly longer hoses
@@RassoolRacing hey I just replaced my throttle body with the 2.4 l.. it's running fine no vacuum leak issues but keeps throwing idle air check engine codes do have any advice ????
@@bryanc.tejada2408 I've heard of people fixing the idle problems by either switching out the VVT solenoid for one from a 1ZZ, or hollowing out the PCV valve. There's even a method that involves opening up the electronics of the throttle body and being able to turn down the idle setting. But I'm not familiar with any of these methods. Those are good places to start looking though
@@RassoolRacing thank u for your response
Did you use any spacer? Or gasket? What did you do with the Coolant did you run it back into itself or connect and by pass?
Just the OEM gasket. I did the coolant bypass in a later video
Hye sir....what limit diameter TB on 1.5 engine?😅
Changing the throttle body, will it increase performance?(speed)
In theory. It is different for each vehicle and depends on how the ECU responds. On the Yaris it gives better performance at wide open throttle, but creates some issues at partial throttle. I wouldn't do this for a daily driver, and sort of regret it on my track car, but for people who are drag racing they've seen noticeable results
how has the swap effected your smog check, still able to pass? I keep throwing EVAP codes p0505, incorrect purge flow. have you thrown codes?
With the 1zz throttle body you will not pass a smog visual inspection
@@RassoolRacing ??!:o
is that 1zz throttle just like plug and play in 1nz intake? or there is other adjustment?
please reply me Thanks😅
Depends on what you're keeping. Scorpion Multimedia has a really in depth install video on this
Hi, at 1:58 what is the gagget in ur exhaust?
It's called a DB or Decibel killer. Usually supplied, but not always included in exhausts like this. It's there to keep the noise at more acceptable levels.
Where did you get the dress up accessory kit, remote oil cooler?
Both are from NonStopTuning
where did you buy the catback??
What brand and part number of low temperature thermostat did you use?
It's a mishimoto one, but I wouldn't recommend it. It doesn't seem to be working as advertised
U need a track battery or move the battery toward the back
Hi brother
Can you help me with the HKS exhaust code that you installed in your Yaris?
model # 32003-BT004
Give it a revin Kevin.
Is bigger TB really gain power? because im planning to do this also in my toyota yaris..
more about throttle response than power for me, but i've seen a few people who drag race say it gave them a quicker 1/8th mile
@@RassoolRacing do you plan to change your intake manifold too?
@@erwinanonuevo I might port it out, but I don't think I'd change it completely. Tunes for this car are so hard to come by that I'm trying to stick closer to what people have already done for SCCA racing
did this mod with the 1zz tb and 1zz injector, didnt have any high idle during cold starts. usually around 1.5k-1.7k rpm for abt 10secs then drops to 850. i did disconnect the battery before i installed the tb and injector. maybe i got a defective 1zz tb. other mods are 4-1 headers w/ custom downpipe running on a 18'scav, Cold air intake w/ k&n filter.
The 'closed' setting for the 1zz throttle body is actually a larger degree angle than the original 1nz
There is an adjustment screw covered in clear resin that can be adjusted to fix the initial high rpm cold starts
Same issue so I am currently attempting to have the OG TB on the yaris after reconnecting battery. Turn ignition to ON position w/o cranking. Wait a few minutes. Turn car off and connect the 1zz TB and start up the car. So far no check engine light but sometimes it takes a day for the light to come on. This method apparently tricks the ecu to think the original TB is on the engine instead of the 1zz. Let me know if it works for you :)
I have a 1.8 zzfe in my 01 Rolla. Been looking online for answers on question I'm about to ask, to no avail. Maybe someone here can help. It has 167k, new plugs, good fluids, doesn't really burn oil. Checked after 1000 miles so far, absolutely no noticable loss in oil, going to check every 500 miles until next oil change. So not sure if this is inherent with this motor or not but from around 2700-3200 rpms, it buzz's/vibrates, and gives the impression it's under very heavy load, and going uphill definitely noticable. After 3200 and before 2700, nothing really noticable. No knock, do hear a metallic clicking like rattle under acceleration, but very likely is a heat shield. Hard to get a good audio recording of it due to frequency, but millions of these cars exist and there's no way I'm the only one who has experienced this. I was thinking it could be a clogged it partially plugged cat. Have cel for evap, but unlikely has anything to do with this.
Any tips for high rpm during cold start? I installed 1zz Throttle body on my vios gen2
Others have said there's a set screw on the throttle body you can adjust. It's under some resin. I didn't bother with mine since it's on track most of it's life
@@RassoolRacing thanks
Why didn't u try the 2az throttle body
What's the verdict on the throttle body, is it worth it? I've been tracking my Yaris and been thinking about doing this upgrade.
Went out once with it, and It was causing some issues cus it wasn't seated properly. I've fixed it now, but I haven't had the chance to go out again since. Summer track days are a bit too hot out here, so it might be a while
@@RassoolRacing Ah got it. The NorCal tracks probably don't get as hot. Thanks for the reply 👍🏻
That's a lame ass reason to NOT drive it around bro. Go see if there's any difference we're actually interested
@@sage6459 "driving it around" isn't going to make a difference. My next track event is August 8th. Since the TB was installed though I did an event at Chuckwalla Raceway, and the car did have some issues with the TB that have since been fixed. I put up videos chronicling all of that.
@RassoolRacing hey man what issues were you having with the 1ZZ TB and how did you fix them? Considering swapping mine as well as doing a K&N cold air intake

Thanks!
I'm not sure it'll fit the 1.3L but feel free to try. The 1zz also came in the mr2 spyder, Celica GT, and the rav4
Hey bro I have a vitz rs 2008 (the sports yaris). I got a dc muffler tip and I like how it sounds but I def want more power. Should go for an axle back exhaust or should I use a custom mandrel bent straight pipe kit? Appreciate the feedback and great video. It's exactly what i was looking for.
so the axle back isnt really going to make more power. in general power comes mainly from changing the engine side of the exhaust (headers, downpipe/overpipe, cats, etc.)

Hey. I'm not very familiar with the 1.3L. we didn't get it here in the US.
@@RassoolRacing did you have to make some changes to the control unit for having put the throttle body 1zz or did it settle on its own? and above all does it give you any problems? also I also saw video where you do it remap but originally how many hp did it have?
@@fabioacolla367 factory it's 106hp to the flywheel so maybe 85whp. When I did the Dyno run there were other contributing factors. Cold air intake, lightweight pulleys and wheels, etc.
The only really issue with my 1zz swap is that it idles high on cold start. I've seen people fit that by adjusting a set screw on the top of the throttle body, but since I only use my car for track purposes, it hasn't really bugged me yet.
