I tried my friends PX with the update and I was blown away by how good it felt and it’s landing behaviour! So much that I ordered the Pint S a week later. This is coming from someone who rode the XR for 10,000 miles and a VESC 84V XR.
So the new firmware does not really have gradient tracking. It does have carveability which is equivalent to the GT turn compensation. I think there are two settings roll and yah mix rate on GT, carveability is like both of those just combined into one parameter, but it definitely does handle much better around corners so it’s not surprising to me that you thought that there was some gradient tracking going on, it’s a totally different board. Still can’t compete with the GT of course but been riding my X for well over a year and this is got me really excited about riding again. Awesome video man. fyi: my favorite custom profile so far is carveability (-2) , aggressiveness(8), single zone sensor activation. with everything else stock. that -2 carve and +8 aggressiveness is SWEET on trails man
Lol, good to know! I feel silly 😂. I'm glad you got something from it still! I just upgraded my gt to the gtv kit, so it's a whole new world atm! Thanks for commenting.
What you are describing is Surging! The pint/X/S does a crazy surge to try and keep you balanced, especially if you are over 150lbs. I can barely ride my pintx and im 215lbs. Maybe the update will help a little, ima do a video also of the differences in hill climb ability when i make it back home from Winman. Good vid tho man!
It was on the tip of my tounge! Surging! That would have saved me so much babbling lol. I do think updating will help, but it won't work miracles. Looking forward to the video man tag me on instagram so I know when it drops!
PintXV is the way to go. Rocking a 20S1P P45B battery so it has the same capacity as a pint X battery but more top speed and torque. Hit 27.5mph on a test run last week and it outperformed my GTS in hill climbing
If you buy the factory performance tire and the upgraded foot pads, it equals almost nearly the same price as buying the pint s. The firmware are is the same so don't feel bad. I recommend getting the enduro and Kush high paired with the factory pint. S footpad for the front.
Your Pint_SX pre firmware update hits pushback at 15+ 18 is uncomfortable to hit with the harsh pushback, 20 on the PintS still won't hit 20 with Pushback at 17 and the buzz and warning at 18+ What's your top speed on both?
Any downsides to updating? I have a pre-haptic Pint X, and I average 15mph on my rides with an average top speed around 17mph. I don't want to hit haptic buzz, but I'm trying to figure out if the top speeds (and likewise pushback and haptic buzz speeds) are actually 2mph higher as advertised. I juat want to cruise at 15-17 without worrying about hitting buzz/pushback when i accelerate a bit or hit rougher terrain. I'm also generally carrying a bag, which makes my riding weight on the heavier side around 240.
Both the Pint X and S haptic at 18. I saw a video today where a guy was very unpleased that his pint s didn't have haptic buzz at the advertise, twenty miles an hour. His reference was that the GT has haptic at 20. The gts has haptic at 25. The pint x has haptic, at eighteen, all of these are their max speeds, so why doesn't the pint s have the haptic at twenty instead of eighteen. It's not what the advetisd was his argument... I think it is an improvement to upgrade a pre haptic pint x for custom shaping and gradient tracking forsure.
Can confirm, Upgraded firmware, broke my top speed immediately up to 18 mph. Didn't hit haptic. Also don't mind haptic - seems to hit after pushback is happening anyway.
It's in the works. My current tire is super worn in and uneven, so I've been waiting for a replacement. I'm super excited to make this one because it's unlocked a whole Nother world, as far as tricks and street riding! And this weekend, I filmed a 30 mile group ride. So yeah, I got some good stuff coming. Stay tuned!
I was under the impression there is no speed difference between pintx post update and pintS. Also you looked more flowy riding the pre update, and hit 19 almost 20 pre update but didn’t see you go past 18 post update. Placebo if you ask me.
I looked more flowy pre because I'm used to riding it like that. It felt better carving after. I don't believe theirs a speed difference. I wasn't comfortable enough to push all the way post update. Placebo, yes. It instills the confidence to go faster, but you ultimately have the same limitations.
@@Magic_sk8board_media he obviously didnt watch long enough and didnt hear you say why you were holding your phone. I could already tell thats why you were holding it, but peeps like to be negative lol
Great video! I like the aggresion at +7 less overtorqueing and not too rigid
Glad you liked it! I'll have to give that adjustment a shot. Thanks for commenting!
Just happy they gave the pint X some love after all these years… Good Review!
Agreed! Thanks for watching.
This video is what is finally going to get me to update my pre haptic pint x. I'm eventually going to get the pintv upgrade
I'm with you on that! Firmwares free, so I thought I'd test it b4 o go vesc.
Brave man. I’m scarey ass hell 😂 once I hit that haptic on the pint x I let off it a little. Feel like it’s gonna toss me. Great vid my friend!!
Yeah, you know I live on the edge 😅. Thanks for watching brother.

You put in some mileage! I'm thinking about upgrading the hardware to make the x into an s

@Magic_sk8board_media it actually does have some gradient tracking baked into the firmware. But its not adjustable.

I think the “feeling” you’re talking about is what most call “rubber banding”. I get it on my ping X and XR a lot. But I’m pretty heavy.
That's a pretty accurate description! Others were saying surging... i think a combination of both. Ty 4 commenting. Fomf
Custom shaping is blowing mosfets fuses. I suggest riding on the presets like pacific or skyline. This is affecting both X and S
Thanks for the heads up will do. Ty for watching.

Great information! 🎉 Has Haze tried it yet?
Not yet!
They got me with the anniversery sale this summer and then released the better model, i allways ged fucced bying at the wrong time.

Prehaptic pint X unfilmed 21.7.

Like bro said, you wont get much more speed but the new shapings are rly nice and it also does have noticeably more torque so I say do it

Gotta upgrade to the Floatwheel PintXV and really unlock your board.
I believe it! last week I took the leap 2 the Gtv!
